We have dined here twice. The first time it was afternoon and we popped in to see how it would fit our requirements for a party of 20. The place is CLEAN! That is very important to me, and the restrooms were spotless. We had tapas for lunch. The Bruschetta was fresh and light, the shrimp and mushrooms were Killer! The pesto is olive oil forward (boo! $46/kg pine nuts!!) with nice fresh basil flavour, a balanced garlic background and generous parmesan on top... table top pepper mill so we could dress ourselves... And, just fyi, dry ribs with salt and pepper are GOOD, adding fresh squeezed lemon juice is NEXT LEVEL. A fruit-latex allergy makes all tomato products off-limits, as well as a range of other fruits and vegetables... so the accommodation of the plain ribs led to some experimenting... So I had my sister pick a place. She read me the menu and read some reviews all fairly good. So maybe my expectations was a little to high. Mind you I was also starving and decided to detour from my meal plan for some thin crust pizza and yummy pasta. We arrived and saw a party in their patio area. It looked like a lot of people. Always good sign when you see a lot of people. Got in, wasn't as busy as I thought. None the less you shouldn't judge a book by its cover. Here is what we ordered. This is about $55 ish The clams in Tomato sauce was bland. I had to get more parm to try to make it enjoyable. I didn't end up finishing it. Pizza was not what I expected. I never had tomato chunks on a margherita pizza. There was no fresh basil. It was only pesto sauce and tomato and Tomato chuncks? Yeah not my jam. Gnocchi was a fail too... let's put it this way, I only gave a two because the service I could tell they were trying. But no, I will not come back. We used to frequent Pasta Pollo in Coquitlam when we lived Coquitlam. We decided to try their restaurant in Langley last evening and were very disappointed. The service was very good. It is a small restaurant but it is clean and dining room is nicely appointed. The wine is very reasonably priced. We had a good bottle of Red Rooster merlot for $30.00. Bread was brought to our table as we perused the menu. My husband started with a small Caesar salad that was good. He followed with veal parmesan accompanied by spaghetti and I ordered smoked salmon with onions and linguine. My husband's food was decent but I found the pasta had a very artificial taste to it. It did not taste homemade. My dish was absolutely lacking in flavour except for the salmon. When I mentioned it to our server when she asked how our meals were she commented that other customers had also mentioned the lack of taste and she offered to have some alfredo sauce put on the dish. It did help but It is definitely not one of the better smoked salmon dishes that I've had. The prices are reasonable and the service was good but we just did not enjoy the food so we wouldn't return. read more

I tried Pasta Polo in Coquitlam. It was alright. Not the worst but not the best as well. I came to Pasta Polo in Langley as I had good eating experience at Pasta Polo in Coquitlam. Our server was good being polite and took our orders correctly. The lunch menu was $10.95 for a dish of pasta that included Caesar salad and garlic toast. It was actually a very good deal. Caesar salad came first. It was good. Pasta with garlic toast came right after we finished the salad (appetizers). I had a first bite of the tomato sauce and penne. :( the tomato sauce was sour and very bland. The penne was overly cooked that it was mushy and it had an unpleasant texture. Anyone who can cook at home can make a better dish of pasta than this one I had at Pasta Polo in Langley. I was quite disappointed at the chef or whoever cooked the pasta at this restaurant. The whole dish of pasta was failed. Sorry for being harsh on the comments but it was a really poor dish that I had ever had. If you try any pasta at Italian Tomatoes in Richmond, Henry's Kitchen Pasta in Port Moody, or even Boston Pasta in any cities, their pastas are definitely better than the ones at Pasta Polo in Langley. I hope this restaurant would try to improve their quality of food/pasta here. If this is a "pasta" restaurant, the pasta cannot be bad. read more

It did indicate fresh pasta but it didn't taste fresh like when made from scratch at home. Did that mean it was bad? No, not at all. In fact I was impressed at the portion size and the price. They offer a huge variety of dishes as well. The lunch combos are huge: a bowl of Caesar salad, a piece of garlic bread and a big bowl of pasta for $10.50. Great deal. The wine prices are extremely reasonable as well which if you know me is one of my pet peeves when you astronomically price a glass of wine from a $10 bottle. I'll be back :) Updated- interesting ... I don't know why but when you order the prawns they come drenched in this mayo sauce that completely ruins them. Even when I ordered a Caesar salad they dumped the sauce on them and the salad! If I could give Pasta Polo 0 stars I would. The people working here are VERY discriminatory. I came in with a coupon from the entertainment book for buy one get one free dinner entree. Only stipulation of this coupon was dine in only and not for use on a weekend. Since I was dining by myself, I decided I was going to eat a meal there and take one to go for my friends mom who is house bound. I was going to surprise her with a free meal. So I ask for the meal I was going to eat to be put on a plate and then the other to go. The lady was hesitant but then said yeah, I don't see why that would be an issue. She proceeded to go to the kitchen to complain and trash talk me to the other staff. I could hear the entire conversation. "This coupon is for 2 people, she can't take it to go, she's dining alone" You are an employee of the restaurant so does this really affect you at all? No. I'M STILL A PAYING CUSTOMER. I think she was mad that she wouldn't be getting a bigger tip that a table without a coupon would generate. She then proceeds to come to my table and tell me that she can't do it to go and she will have to plate both. Not wanting to argue about it I said fine. She then goes back to the kitchen to complain to the other staff that these coupons should really specify that two people need to dine in. Listen, the reason why the coupon DOES NOT say this is because putting that in writing would be discriminatory. If the coupon is not open to all people to use, then do not have a coupon. The lady then packed up my food with the rudest look on her face and told me next time I can't do this. I can assure you there will be no next time that I visit your restaurant because I would like to enjoy my meal and not be discriminated against because I chose to dine alone. read more

Some okay tasting pasta. This restaurant advertises handmade pasta. However, if you have dined at many other handmade pasta establishment, this food tastes average. The portion sizes are large so there will be more than enough food. However, the flavours are okay. Service was fast. Our server was very on top of refilling water and checking up on us. Real parmesan cheese was grated fresh at table side. I ordered Eggplant Parmesan with a side of garlic toast. The toast had more flavour than the tomato basil linguini. I feel like the tomato sauce needed to be cooked longer to help bring out the flavours more. We shared a mocha cheesecake for dessert. The portion size was good for the price of $5.95. It tasted alright. We had an Entertainment Coupon so that saved us a little bit of money. It made the trip worth the visit to Langley for the day. read more

If you want Campbell's soup seafood pasta come to the Langley location I was fully expecting to have a delicious seafood marinara pasta dish but instead the taste of the sauce reminds me of Campbell's tomato soup! Please don't eat here!! I had the misfortune of working here for a couple of months and saw all the behind the scenes. It's absolutely disgusting and filthy. I have no idea how this place passed food safe inspections. They don't double wash cutlery, they actually wipe off disgusting left overs and then roll them up on a dirty counter. They cut your lemons on the dirty counter without a cutting board or clean knife. Then they put it onto your drinking cup. Their straws and precut lemons are completely exposed for open hands and dirty fingers to touch. The food might be good, but the kitchen is an absolute shit show. It's so disgusting and I'm worried someone is going to get food poisoning or something worse from their lack of cleanliness. read more

They say "hand made pastas" but it tasted like over cooked boxed or frozen pasta. The sauces are over cooked, congealed and coagulated. The food is bland and boring. Ordered their pasta polo salad which was a small green with 2 pieces of artichoke, greens, minimal feta for 11.99. Also ordered the grilled veggie chicken lasagna which I expected to have grilled peppers and eggplant etc but had carrots and broccoli. Small portion for $18.99. We shared these so we could use the coupon which I have done in the past at other restaurants with no problem. They said the salad was a tapas and we couldn't use the coupon. Nor could you use on the lunch special so that is why we ordered off the menu. A $12 salad is not considered a meal? BS! This restaurant has been recommended to me a few times over the years, and we finally caved due to a ravioli craving and went for dinner last night. The service was attentive and friendly even though it was quite busy. He got his ravioli which smelled and tasted delicious and I had the vegetable chicken lasagna which was awesome except for the baby carrots which were like a gnawing on tree bark. Thank goodness there were alot of different vegetable in it including regular carrots (weird that they use both) and nice pieces of chicken breast mixed it. It was hot out of the oven but no mushy veggies! yay! Quiet atmosphere for our dinner with excellent customer service. I had the baked gnocchi with alfredo sauce and my wife had the seafood canoloni. Both meals were very good and served quite quickly. The only thing I was really disappointed In was the small wine list. We choose the yellow tail cab-shiraz which was the second highest wine on their menu. Luckily it was $5 off tonight (thurs). Service is fast and friendly. It's a family friendly restaurant. Upon arrival, you get foccacia and marinara sauce right away so there's something to nibble on while you go through the menu. Portions are huge here and pastas are around $15 each and pizzas are $13 each. The food is really only a 3-3.5 star though... I like that everything is fresh, but the pasta is definitely cooked more than al dente and the sauce we had on our spicy sausage dish was quite watery and a touch bland, even with the additional baked cheese extra we added. Gnocchi dish was good. Honestly, this is far from being a 5 star, but it's inexpensive and will fill you up with fresher ingredients than the local Olive Garden. Solid 3 to 3.5 stars. read more

Our first time here. Lunch with my daughter and her 3 year old. My grandson had a pizza and loved it. I had a small Ceasar salad. I try them every where I go. This was a top 5 for sure. Creamy and dressed just the right amount. I also ordered the flatbread. Very disappointed. Olives were super salty and I eat Kalamatas by the jar. Needed a pesto or sauce under the cheese and few sun dried tomatoes. My daughter is Vegan. The 1 pasta option for her was chinese rice noodles in a marinara sauce? A lousy after thought meal for a paying customer. Just say no to vegan pasta requests or hey get a bag of vegan pasta in house. This was the first time my wife and I had dined at the Langley Pasta Polo, and we were very pleasantly surprised. I ordered the lobster pasta dinner and really enjoyed it as it was full of lobster meat and prawns with a very tasty white sauce. My wife ordered the baked cannelloni and gave it two thumbs up. Her portion was very big so she had a third wrapped up and brought it home to enjoy later. We shared an order of garlic toast and it was delicious with chunks of fresh garlic and toasted just so. Real care went into its preparation. I should also say the starter Caesar salads were very fresh with yummy croutons and dressing. All in all this was a great local dining experience. I have had Fettuccine Alfredo a thousand times in my life. Its a fan fave, its soul food, and when it comes to pasta, nothing gets better than that in my opinion.
