A very refreshing meal! We were the first customers in the door on Mother's Day, so there was no wait and food came out pretty quick. We ordered Feta Fries for an appetizer - they were perfectly seasoned and are a wonderful twist to just plain fries. For an entree I ordered a beef and lamb kabob with rice and potatoes. The kabobs are always good, but I personally am a huge fan of their potatoes - so fluffy and lemony! I finished with Tiramisu! It was the cherry on top to a perfect meal. Their mascarpone was fluffier than I'm used to (in a good way).... maybe they whipped it or something, anyways it was delicious! Our waitress, Izzy, was very attentive and super welcoming. Checked in on us frequently without suffocating us - the perfect amount of attention. Olive Pit has both indoor and outdoor seating - they do allow pets for outdoor seating I believe. It looks like they can probably fit around 50 guest (give or take), so I recommend a reservation.if possible. Ambiance was appropriate for Mediterranean style food. Love it! We came here at about 1:30 PM on a Sunday. It was busy but not overflowed. We got an easy table seating of seven indoors. We ordered several appetizers, (not shown) lamb chops, and a bunch of kebabs. We also ordered a couple of wraps (my least favorite). The food quality was excellent. Good portions, especially if you're gonna get a salad and some vegetables. Proteins are consistently good and I would recommend anyone coming back. Average dish is somewhere between $25-$30 each. Appetizers are around $16-$18. I didn't get a photo of all of our food, unfortunately, but nonetheless, I enjoy this place. It is always fresh and welcoming. $275 for about 7 people including tip. read more

Yummy in my tummy! I had grilled salmon with roasted potatoes and grilled vegetables. My husband had chicken with green beans and rice. Everything was delicious. It was cooked to perfection. The staff was friendly. The restaurant was clean including the restrooms. There's a saying if the restroom is clean, so is the kitchen. From what I could see into the kitchen, it definitely was. This place is very elegant inside. Dark with a nice atmosphere. The acoustics make it difficult to hear when it gets crowded. Maybe a drop ceiling would help? It's conveniently located across the street from our place, we can walk to it. We started with Crispy Asparagus ($12.00) with were deliciously tender with a light, flaky coating. I ordered the Spanakopitas ($14.00) for my entree. They were pretty large and filling. My husband chose the Lamb 2 Kabob Plate ($28.00) that came with rice, pita and artichoke hearts. Disappointing Customer Service Experience I recently went to Olive Pit Grill in Huntington Beach and had a very disappointing experience with the customer service. I ordered a kids meal and specifically asked the cashier, Fernando, about the beverage that came with dining in. He told me that because I was dining in, I would receive a beverage cup. After completing my transaction, I asked him for the correct cup for my drink. Fernando told me that I could use a water cup for soda, so I followed the instructions he gave me. After finishing my meal, I went to get a refill. That's when the manager, Leo, told me that Fernando had spoken with him and that I was not allowed to use the water cup for soda. I explained to Leo that Fernando was the employee who specifically told me I could do so when I placed my order. Rather than acknowledging that I had simply followed the instructions given to me by their own employee, I was put in an uncomfortable situation over a beverage cup. I agreed to throw the drink away, and Leo then told me that since I had already poured it, I could just take it. I ended up pouring the drink out anyway. The issue was never about the drink itself--it was about the lack of communication between the employees and how the situation was handled with me as a customer. If your employees are giving customers conflicting information, the customer shouldn't be made to feel like they're doing something wrong for following an employee's instructions. I hope management takes this as an opportunity to improve communication and customer service training. The food may be good, but customer service matters too, and unfortunately this experience left a very negative impression on me. read more

ive been in the restaurant business for 40 years and this place is run poorly. The staff is rude which I never understood as its the customer who actually is the reason they have a job. I would have fired two of the employees on the spot after witnessing their rude behavior towards what appeared to be delivery drivers and patrons who ordered to go food. I cant imagine how they are to their tables. Absolutely UNACCEPTABLE. i wish i would have known their names so i could mention it but its clear the boss doesnt mind his staff being mouthy to patrons. We came for lunch the other day and were greeted enthusiastically as soon as we entered. You go all the way to the back of the restaurant to order at the counter. The seating up front and on the covered patio. Tuesday is discounted beer day and they have a nice compact selection of beers. So we took advantage of the deal. I want in thinking I'd get the gyro but seeing the lamb sausage I went with the lamb sausage wrap. They do wraps on thin flat bread and not pita. My friends went with the lamb burger and were both satisfied. All come with a side and we all chose fries. The serving was very generous. After years of eating at this restaurant I will no longer return. Old man with white hair and a Mohawk was rude at the register and instead of being accommodating became confrontational when I explained I needed to order at the counter because I was in a rush to receive my food and the waiters at the restaurant where busy with large tops, typically during week day lunch all orders are taken at the counter. Instead of ringing in the order tells me it has to be To go at the counter...then argues the service time would not be any quicker than if waited for the waiter to ring in their large top tables and then take my order. Nothing worst than arguing a point instead of a customer is right attitude when the customer is attempting to hand cash for service. Again. I'm trying to give him my money. My order is close to $100 and instead of accommodating the request to take the order at the counter...he argues to the point I leave the restaurant and take my time to write a negative review. Overall net negative considering he WAS working the counter. Ended up going 1.5 miles away to a cute Mediterranean restaurant on PCH and Warner called Golden Olive. Place was family run, great customer service and even better pricing. To the MoHawk guy thanks for the poor customer service leading me to find this new restaurant gem just down the road. read more

The chicken was cooked well and everything tasted fresh, but it was a bit lacking in flavor and not as spiced as I was hoping for. That said, it wasn't bad by any means--just kind of middle-of-the-road. Portion size was fair and the service was fine. I'd say it's worth trying once, especially if you're in the area, but I'm not sure I'd go out of my way to come back. read more

We just finished dinner at Olive Pit in Huntington Beach, and unfortunately this was easily one of the worst restaurant meals I've ever had to pay for. For some context, we've eaten at this location numerous times over the years and always enjoyed it. We hadn't been back in about a year, so we went in expecting the same quality we'd experienced in the past. Something has clearly changed. It started with the water, which tasted absolutely terrible, honestly worse than hose water. We switched to iced tea, which arrived without ice, and after requesting ice, that obviously didn't improve things much since the ice is presumably made from the same water. We ordered side salads, chicken and steak skewers, grilled vegetables and basmati rice. The Mediterranean salad was fine, nothing spectacular, but perfectly acceptable. The rice was also okay. Unfortunately, that's where anything positive ended. The "grilled" vegetables were practically raw and completely unseasoned. The broccoli tasted like it had barely seen a grill. This was nothing like the grilled vegetables we'd enjoyed here in the past. Then came the meat. The chicken skewers were so overwhelmingly salty that you could barely taste the chicken. I took one bite and couldn't eat any more. My wife tried to salvage hers by covering the chicken in yogurt just to counteract the saltiness, and she ultimately left an entire skewer untouched. I figured I'd at least have the steak skewer. Unfortunately, that was even worse, stringy, dry and completely unappetizing. I took one bite and was done. Neither of us finished the meat we'd ordered. I asked the manager to come over and explained that we'd been longtime customers and that this was by far the worst meal we'd ever had here. His response was essentially, "You should have told us sooner." I'm not sure how much sooner I could have said something, I had literally just sampled each part of the meal before realizing that almost everything on the plate was bad. To his credit, he did comp my entrée, although we still paid around $40 for my wife's meal, drinks and salad. Our server, was actually very nice and apologetic, and I don't blame him whatsoever. This wasn't a service problem. It was a food-quality problem. I'm not sure whether Olive Pit has changed management, chefs, recipes or suppliers, but this was nothing remotely close to the food we remembered from our previous visits. We used to come here regularly and genuinely enjoyed it, which makes this experience even more disappointing. I sincerely hope they figure out what's changed in that kitchen, because based on the meal we were served tonight, we won't be returning anytime soon. read more

We love their food, but when you order pick up or door dash, they always seem to forget to include the delicious garlic sauce that comes with the roasted 1/2 chicken. This is my absolute favorite Mediterranean restaurant...and I have pretty much been to them all! The food and the service both perfection! For sure you gotta start with the grilled octopus appetizer. It is amazing served with a flavorful but light sauce. The fried zucchini are also so so good! I've had almost everything here. There really isn't anything that I don't love! The wraps, the fish, and all of the kabobs, the steak, chicken, lamb...and I actually don't even like lamb, but I love it here! Food is great, but the owners may want to take a closer look at their staff training, particularly when it comes to basic service etiquette. Our server, Blythe, provided some of the most inhospitable service I have experienced in a restaurant. On a quiet Wednesday night, we ordered an appetizer, wine and two entrées. Less than 50 minutes after being seated, while we still had wine in our glasses and were actively eating from full plates, she brought us to-go boxes. She even removed my mother's plate while I had half of mine still to eat. When it came time to pay, she gave me the handheld payment device and stood directly beside me, hovering as I selected the tip. When she returned with the receipt, she placed it on the table without saying a word and walked away. The entire experience was rushed, unpleasant and completely lacking in basic service. Really hope this isn't an institutional directive to turn more tables. With the rising cost of dining out and expectation to tip servers even more, a pleasant dining environment would go a long way. read more
