Complementary pita bread with the parmesan olive oil dip

This is the best Persian restaurant I've been to. They have cooked to order stews, and rice specialities. The salmon is delicious. The pomegranate Persian chicken stew is to die for. I frequently order a rice, chicken, and beef family platter and add a salad. It's a great deal and a ton of food. When I have friends and family over everyone loves it. This is a small family owned restaurant and the owners cook the meals and are there every time I go. They are friendly and the portions are generous. The Persian tea is also very tasty, don't forget to have some. Very small restaurant, quiet, and romantic dim light setting. Great for private parties, receptions, and events. Also great for date night.

In the mood for Persian food, we decided to check out Saffron Grill. Parking was easy in the lot, though the restaurant was smaller than I expected. The furniture was wooden and eclectic, with some small tables but mostly large long tables. Decor was also fun with cool lights/lamps. Service was excellent, I believe we were waited on by the owner couple. The menu was smaller than what I saw online but they still had a good number of dishes. We ended up ordering the beef soltani (combination of beef koobideh with beef steak) with zereshk (barberry) rice, salmon with dill rice, and gheimeh stew. I love the flavored Persian rices, and was glad Saffron offered so many options of rice made-to-order. Each rice even came with some tahdig (crunchy rice). All of the food was scrumptious though portions just fair for the price. We were also served warm bread with butter. Overall, very tasty food in a nice ambience, just a little on the pricier side.

Food here is amazing. It was super nostalgic experiencing the Mediterranean/Persian grill flavor again. Most definitely recommend the lamb shank, it is super tender and flavorful. For appetizers hummus and grape leaves are a must!! Tabuli salad & shrimp are amazing as well. Literally 0 complaints. The service was super friendly and felt like a family environment. Definitely coming back!!

Have you ever wanted to have a home cooked meal made with a lot of love? Come here... order some hummus... hot tea... and relax... the food will take a while, but that's because it's made with love... I wanted to find lamb shank and they served it here... not much for lamb, but I am when it's served here... 10/10... my wife got the chicken kabob 10/10... the rice is special... hard to describe... since the pictures I took a month ago we've been back several times... usually, we are the only ones there... and we love it... now we share the hummus and the chicken kabob dinner and it's perfect... hot water with lemon now, because the tea kept me up hahahaha... the secret ingredient? They will tell you saffron... but really it's LOVE

If you love traditional Delicious Persian food, I highly recommend this place!! Two things that really stand out here and are way better than most Persian restaurants in SoCal are, the jujeh kabob with bone (chicken with bone) and the ghormeh sabzi!! 100% you won't be disappointed! Also if you get tahdig ask for it 3 different ways (original, potato and lavash) So go say hi to Abus and let him take care of you!

The food is absolutely superb. Always perfectly cooked, juicy with flavor. The Owner and the service are always on point and so very kind. This is a wonderful gem in the area, and worth the drive if you're not close.

Empty on a Saturday night at 5:45. Good news - no wait for your food! We ordered a koobedeh combo plate (beef and chicken) ($16) and a gyro plate ($16). It came with warm pita and butter. Food came out after about 13 minutes. Chicken koobideh, amazing! Gyro, amazing! Beef koobideh, just ok, but I'll order all chicken next time. Saffron rice, delicious and the fries well crispy and peppery. This is my all-time favorite medditerranean place now! Will definitely be back! Too bad I live so far away!

I like that you can bring your dogs here and sit on the patio. The water comes with lemon. It's a nice touch. The seats have pillows so you don't have to sit on a hard seat. I like that the pita comes out and it's warm and it has butter packs that are individually wrapped. I appreciate these little touches. The food is all so yummy

    Very good..lamb..

First off, they make their pita bread fresh to order, and it's SO good when it comes out warm. Their falafel is another must! Hard and crispy on the outside, smooth in the middle, and even better with their spicy green sauce. The creamy spicy chicken is always a favorite. Super tender white-meat chicken with a creamy sauce that has a ton of flavor without being overly spicy. Their hummus is also buttery smooth, and honestly, I could probably make a meal out of just the hummus and fresh pita. But the spicy green potatoes are the star for me. Thinly sliced, crispy around the edges, and packed with flavor. Easily my favorite thing on the menu! The lamb chops were tender, juicy, and cooked perfectly. They also have a huge drink selection--the guava strawberry drink I tried was almost like a smoothie. Finished with the baklava. I would've liked a little more filling, but the flavor was still there and I'd order it again. Definitely recommend Fresh Green Olive if you're craving Mediterranean food in Huntington Beach!

I saw SO many amazing Yelp reviews that I had to find out if this little place really lived up to all the hype. And OMG... IT DID!!! We were two adults and two teenage boys, and ordered a medium Hawaiian pizza, the Golden Plate, an eggplant wrap, grilled sea bass, and an extra order of beef shawarma. The garlic dip, hummus, and especially the fresh hot bread were such a pleasant surprise! I normally eat very little carbs, but I ended up eating THREE pieces of bread That alone should tell you how good it was. The Golden Plate was also an amazing value. The actual portion was MUCH bigger than it looked on the menu, and every single kind of meat was incredibly juicy, tender, and flavorful. The meat practically melted in your mouth! The freshly grilled sea bass was absolutely worth the wait. By the time it arrived, we were already SO full, but somehow we still couldn't stop eating it. It was incredibly delicious with such a unique flavor. The boys loved everything, but of course their favorite was still the Hawaiian pizza They actually made me promise that I would give this place FIVE STARS! And I have to mention the service because our experience was wonderful. The young man with glasses and dark hair who took care of us was incredibly friendly, patient, and attentive. He explained the dishes to us, was so patient with the kids, and had the warmest smile and attitude the whole time. He genuinely made us feel so welcome. Even when he packed up our leftovers, he carefully chose different containers depending on the type of food. Such a small detail, but it really showed how thoughtful and attentive he was. I'm actually embarrassed that I didn't ask his name! I guess I was way too busy enjoying all the food And now that I'm writing this review, I have ANOTHER regret -- we forgot to try dessert!!! But I guess that's a good excuse to come back, because now we have even more things to try next time. If you love Mediterranean food, this place is an absolute MUST-TRY. I'm a VERY picky eater when it comes to flavor, and while this may not be a fancy restaurant with beautiful, luxurious decor, the food itself honestly tastes worthy of a Michelin star to me. Highly, highly recommended. We will absolutely be back!
