We love A Fransico's and I've given it a 5 star review on Google. We went here on Saturday…read morespecifically for Virgil's pizza. They had Gary, the owner of Virgil's, making his pizza and I was very much looking forward to having it again. He had my favorite pizza and I missed having it. So when I heard he was making his pizza again, I booked a reservation. Now, for the record, A. Francisco's is my new favorite pizza, Colin is a pizza genius. But I missed Virgil's, so I ordered my go to pepperoni pizza. I was pretty disappointed. As soon as they put the pizza down, I knew it was different. It didn't look like I knew Virgils to look like. The crust was different. The pepperoni was different... it wasn't Virgil's. I've eaten hundreds of squares. I would get 6 squares and eat them for lunch and want more...this time I ate two... just to be polite. The biggest difference was the dough. It didn't look like Virgil's and it didn't taste close to what Virgil's tasted like. My wife had the house made spaghetti with shrimp and it was very good. The buratta balls were excellent. Those were from A. Francisco's menu and we always have excellent food from here. But for someone who loved Virgil's, this was NOT the Virgil's that I remember and loved. I don't know what happened to his dough, but tonight I'm going to A. Francisco's for my new favorite pizza made by Colin. I'm not a fan of their pepperoni, so I go sausage and arugula. If they ever get the old world pepperoni that curls up, I'll go back to my go to.

They always have amazing specials that I usually go for, can never go wrong with one of their steaks. The caesar salad and cornbread biscuits are a great start. Make sure to save room for their homemade desserts, always rotating selection- if they have the peanut butter pie make sure to try! Service is always fantastic and the vibe is southern comfort.

Pineapple Eddie Southern Bistro…read more GOOD - solid southern-style food, friendly service, fun and warm atmosphere BAD - Not much, the service on the slow side and prices are a bit high for the type of food. Neither of these hurt the review because though slow, service was very friendly and I would just cut out the app if I want a better price. PE was an enjoyable experience. It's nestled right in every day suburbia which made it fun - the local place. The fried chicken and waffles was very good and portions are fair. My server allowed me to sub mashed potatoes instead of the day's veggie, which I appreciated. I was excited to try "blueberry glazed" wings which, major bummer, we're seasonal. I got the sweet-hot. The wings were tasty but a little sog - slightly longer fry and good to go. I recommend Pineapple Eddie and I'll be adding it to my Erie rotation when I visit again

But each time when im leaving we say, "yeah that was the right move." It's a little further from the Bayfront but it's a lot better than some of the options that are closer. The vibe here is great. So glad that this place has withstood so much turnover nearby. Food is consistently great. Lunch, dinner, even brunch is SOLID. This time, I did the Chicken Cordon Bleu Wrap with tots. Could've just been a silly assumption, did not expect the wrap to be toasted. Now this was on a 100 degree day, so wouldve personally preferred it to be cold this day but all good. Tots are dependable and great too. Wish I received a larger potion though. Was kind of surprise it wasn't like filling the plate and was more a scattered handful. Love this spot though. Great experience, great staff, will absolutely stop back in.

On this visit, we both ordered the grinder, but my first bite felt off -- something was missing. Sure enough, when I lifted the bun, the most important part was missing: the boom boom sauce. It took a few minutes to get our server's attention, but once we mentioned it, she quickly brought sides of the sauce for us. After adding it ourselves, the sandwich tasted the way it should, though the bread was a bit dry since the sauce wasn't baked in. I'll also note that we typically visit for lunch, but this trip was later in the evening. The vibe was very different -- louder crowd, mostly college kids, and slower service due to how busy it was. We'll probably stick to lunch visits going forward, since that's when we've had the best experience.
