We had a great time here! We stopped in randomly on a weekend morning and we're impressed. We were able to get a table right away and our server was super friendly. She checked in often and was a delight. The menu had breakfast and lunch options. I didn't really look at the lunch menu but breakfast had a good variety. I got the veggie skillet ish option, I don't remember the name but it was good and reasonably priced as well. My husband got the stuffed French toast & it was great! We also got the kids breakfast for our little one and he was impressed too. With all our food & 2 mimosas we still spent under $50 (before tip). My husband and I came in and ordered a meat lovers and shared it, they brought it out on two separate plates for us, which was very considerate! It was very delicious but it came a little bit burnt on the bottom, so we asked for some extra hash and they re did your whole order of meatlovers, and gave it to us to go. I've been going to Oliver's cafe since it opened because I just live a block away and I've always had a good experience until yesterday morning. I don't frequent Oliver's like I did in the past, but I dropped off my car at Lents Auto Body right across the street and decided to drop in. When I picked up my car at 10am, I mentioned my breakfast to someone at Lents Auto Body and they told me they had heard the same from others. I hope that things change because their food has always been good. My Meal: I was first shocked by the prices that have really risen. I ordered the chicken fried steak at $16.99. The chicken fried steak was dried out because its probably frozen, and the size shrank. The gravy was way to thick and got even thicker by the minute. It was a dark gravy instead of a lighter brownish color, and didn't taste a good as I remembered from the past. I asked for Sourdough toast and got plain. The scrambled eggs were good. The place was even a little packed which shows that I must have ordered the wrong breakfast item. So I met a very good friend for brunch today. I chose this spot because it's close to her house and she could find it. She's directionally challenged. The service was so great. The sweetest waitress ever. My friend had the chicken Cesar salad. She said it was very good. I hat the stuffed French toast combo. I added toast. Because i have a think about eating eggs with toast. Anyway. All the food was delicious. The prices were actually surprisingly fair. The restaurant was super clean. There was an incident with someone on the video poker machines. I was more worried about leaving them with the guy. They can't really help that. Anyway, I totally recommend this place. It's a pretty simple menu. So if you're looking for some extravagant steak or something. Wrong place. But if you want a good quiet brunch with good service, this is your spot. read more

Terrible, unexplainable chewy mushroom Swiss burger, comically oversized dressing on the burger not making up for the size versus the $14 cost. Hour wait during a packed house, but service was inattentive at best. The fries were delicious, though so... yay? Pro: good fries, hashbrowns decent, eggs cooked well. Absolutely loved the fact I didn't have to put my name on a list just to get seated! The restaurant has a nice "homey" feel to it and was really clean which I appreciated. The service was great and the food was definitely worth what you pay for. Ended up getting the brisket hash and there was no way I could finish the entire plate, you get your fill of brisket, potatoes, peppers and eggs. You have your choice of a side and I picked the biscuit which came with some jam that I wish I could've had more of, that good :) This place was located in a developing area, but they have parking spots available in the back. read more

Oliver's is a cute place, with good food and pleasant staff for the most part. It appeared that the day of our visit was not such a good day for them... there were several problem noted by several guest to include wait times, incorrect orders, etc. For us, they got the order incorrect. While I didn't return my order to the kitchen to be corrected, just picked through to avoid the ingredients that were supposed to be removed and leaving a good amount of food that I couldn't eat, I thought I should share the error. When informing the team of the error, I received a not so nice, uncaring response. Everyone has a bad day once in a while... but I am not so sure that I will return. read more

This small hole in the wall cafe is amazing! My favorite meal is the strawberry stuffed French toast that they have. Kid friendly and even if you have to wait to sit it usually is only 5-10min. Ron and I stopped in for lunch about two weeks ago and were delighted . The restaurant looks to be pretty brand new and attractively decorated. They were followings all guidelines for COVID-19 prevention and cleaning as they went. Our server was very competent and charming and took our orders for hamburgers in a flash. I have now upgraded this from a 4 star to a 5 star and let me tell ya I have never upgraded. I went this morning for some breakfast on a budget and to meet some out of state friends. I got there early as I almost always do and grabbed a booth. Sara(h) came right over offered to get me something to drink. She grabbed my water and then we proceeded to have some awesome conversation while I was waiting. I felt like I was in the 1950's sitting at the bar of an old dinner with the waitress smoking a cigarette and talking lol. She wasn't smoking so don't worry. When my friends arrived we all ordered. I had the smoked brisket hash friends had the breakfast burrito and the daily special. They were both blown away by every and I mean every aspect of the meal. The jelly to the biscuits to the potatoes to every morsel of food. I lived in Texas and they are from Texas so we know our brisket and let me tell you I felt like I was sitting in Franklin's bbq in Texas it was that good. What started out as a great place where awesome servers have great service has now turned into a short handed one worker operation where servers sit on phones and don't even engage with customers to ask if anything is needed. Needs new friendly servers and more of them. Also change your menu it's been years with the same old tired dishes. Oliver's has become my new favorite brunch spot! I just recently moved into the area and a co worker recommend this place because they have a bottomless mimosas special. And I do LOVEEEE mimosas lol! I've been here a handful of times now, the waitresses are very friendly! I've only came during the week between 11am-2pm and it's never crowded plus my food always come out fast. Their biscuits and gravy are super delish! The food always tastes great and fresh! I also really love the fact that their mimosas aren't the small flute glasses, they're bigger, so I usually only end up having two and haven't had to go for the bottomless deal. I have to downgrade my review of this neighborhood restaurant based on our experience this morning. I wish I could give 3 1/2 stars. On the positive side, our biscuits were fresh and flaky, with gravy and served as a sandwich. My hash browns were nicely cooked with just enough crunchiness. Everything else was average, from the coffee, to the gravy and my sandwich. Sometimes when we are served food that is a little shy of seasoning, or a memorable flavor, I wonder if it's because they don't want to offend some patrons. This was our experience this morning. When we were served we had to remind them about the poached egg that had been asked for on the side. It came after a bit, but was not allowed to drain on a paper towel before being served, so there was water in the cup it was served in. That extra 10 seconds to dry the egg would have been appreciated. They were not swamped with customers but there was a steady stream coming in while we ate. We will be back with the hopes that the flavor and service improves. read more

We were running an errand by Happy Valley and checked Help for places to go for brunch. Oliver's Cafe got a four-star rating out of 72 so, we came here. By the time we sat down and get our food, it took them 40 minutes. I ordered the veggie omelette and substituted with green bell peppers with spinach. My husband got the veggie breakfast burrito with avocado. The food was alright. Our waiter told us that the owner did not expect to have that many customers so it was only him and the owner were waiting tables. That explained the long wait and they haven't bus the tables. Their restroom though is clean. I don't think we'll go back here again even if we're in the neighborhood. read more

Very friendly staff, nice atmosphere, good food and nicely presented on the plate. It wasn't a "beautiful" presentation necessarily but it was appetizing. The cook did a nice job with my wife's over medium eggs and I know cuz I used to be a breakfast cook. The biscuits for the biscuits and gravy were really tender but could use bigger chunks of crumbled up sausage in the gravy. The server said they do have sausage in the gravy but I could not find any at all. If there was noticeable sausage in the gravy I would be back every week to order that. They switched over to new brand of coffee recently and it was nice and strong without being bitter or sour. We will be back. read more

Excellent food! I come here often and food it always good. Today I walked in and saw it was very busy. I decided to stay and wait it out. The new waitress was pushed to her limits. But others came out help her. She always had a smile and was polite. The cook brought out my order when it was ready. I was especially impressed because people weren't stuck within their designated categories. There was team work. This showed concern with good service to customers, concern for fellow workers, and reputation for the restaurant.
