Cobb salad with bacon, egg, turkey, Bleu cheese, avocado and greens.
    Anita R.

Don't let the outside fool you. What a huge, fresh, tasty lunch was whipped up today. My husband had a chicken gyro with side salad and half pickle while I ordered this Cobb salad. It was almost 3, their closing time, yet no one rushed us. Bottom line- As regular visitors to Portland we recommend Toms restaurant for lunch. Not the Petit Provence, a touristy place. Toms beats others way out. Try a salad!

    Onion rings, tasted great

I know it hasn't been that long my rating is right up there as it was on the previous order. Toms Restaurant comes thru the food delivered thru GrubHub. I am very happy with the quality of the food the delivery of warm food in the last 2 x times they're hitting 100. I called the restaurant to confirm the order and they were very appreciative of the feedback! Will be trying different things in the future since the menu is so immense. Confident that each one will be a good experience will keep you updated

The tomelette was so delicious and unique I've had plenty of omelettes and gyros but never together and honestly would of never thought the two would pair together but with the Tzatziki sauce and and gyro meat coming together with the eggs and veggies it was perfect. Great prices and even exceptional service;Laura our server is a ray of sunshine on cloudy days! She was such a phenomenal help during our visit. They also make a homemade habanero salsa that was spiced perfectly.

Naan - super fluffy and delicious 5. Pork croquettes 6. Chaurice sausage - also really enjoyed. Pea and sausage was an interesting combo but it worked. 7. I have the best daughter-in-law in the world (actually two of them). Amy can sniff out a new restaurant like nobody's business. And she hit big-time on this one. We ate on the patio, which is beautiful, and my 3 year old niece had the time of her life in the bamboo 'forest' looking for pandas and koalas. We had two of the most charming women as servers, but I wrote down their names on the merchant-copy of the receipt, so I can't tell you who they were. As stated in the other reviews, this is a foodie's ideal. I you are going to order the hamburger, which is good, order something green for the table with it. If you want medium-rare, order rare. They change the menu alot, so I hope this is still be on it when you go. For dessert, "The Floating Island". Start with cream anglaise, then add green strawberries and rhubarb around the edges (totally counter intuitive for me, but worked perfectly!) and in the middle is a rectangle of meringue (the best I have ever had in my life) and a spoonful of lime granite to top it off. Spectacular! Go for it and Go !!!

That is, until you turn your attention to the wedge of a jojo next to that beautiful wet-tshirt-contest winner. And by wedge, I mean you could park a god damned RV on the bank-iest bank of the Willamette, put one of these under a rear wheel, throw the RV in neutral, and open a trampoline park inside. If you canceled the lease on Playdate PDX and are reading this, don't steal my idea, you prick. Anyway, I digress. Potato jojo wedge. Back to it. I brought home some as leftovers three months ago and my eight year old is still tunneling through them like she's a mole dropped into some f-ed version of Candy Land. Look, I know the fine bartenders here promise chicken and jojos the same way cable promises service: it'll arrive somewhere between the hours of 6 and 10:00 PM. But sit your ass in the chair, get a PBR and wait. Because, much like the bygone era of cable, when the boob shows up uncensored, late at night, and wrapped seductively in paper and BBQ sauce (don't judge me! You tuned in too!), you weren't thinking of the guy with the extra long butt crack and ill fitting button up. Oh no, my friend, you were thinking about the sauce. BBQ, ranch, sweet chili, . . . or ketchup (you immature shit).

My friends were at the bar and I managed to get a seat next to them. I was smart to ask my friend to place a food order since they are known for hot fried food to take their time. I ordered a drink and caught up with my friends. There were complimentary treats which I gladly enjoyed. Once my food arrived, I enjoyed the jo jo's with buffalo dipping sauce as my go to. The fried chicken hits the spot and the staff is very friendly. It was great seeing 2 people working instead of just 1 person doing everything. My order was affordable too once I closed my tab. Old Portland for the win once again and will continue to support, cheers!

Dishes can be shared here, and our server suggested a few specialties for us to try. They also have a tasting menu but we opted for picking our own. We started with grilled oysters that were topped with kimchi butter and garlic. It was incredibly flavorful and perfectly grilled. We had the Little Gems salad, which was refreshing with the greens, radish, and green goddess sauce. The hamachi crudo is their specialty. The raw fish came with grilled pineapple and a bold and pungent fish sauce that meshed all the ingredients together cohesively for one sweet and savory dish! Absolutely recommend it! The lobster roll was absolutely delicious with bread that holds the flavors together. Cooked well and no notes here! The start of the evening was absolutely the cedar plank whole branzino. Wow, I have never been more impressed with a fish. Perfectly cooked with juicy, smoked flavors. 12/10 recommend! For dessert, we ordered an earl grey tea ice cream with blackberry, and peach sorbet. Both refreshing!

We came here because I heard they have a great seafood menu and my kids recently started enjoying oysters and other shellfish that used to be "gross". We got here about 15 minutes to opening on a Friday night and there was already a line. We were fortunate to still get a spot outside which worked out because it wasn't too hot and the outdoor space is much more spread out than inside. We ordered a dozen oysters to start. Love their various droppers with infused mignottes and hot sauces. Really made it fun to try out different combos. We also got the cold smoked mussels, the hamachi crudo, grilled oysters, lobster roll, rockfish, and the little gem salad. In order of least favorite to favorite, the little gem salad was good but just not that memorable or spetqcular the way the other dishes were. Next, the grilled oysters were flavorful with the garlic and lime but I wished there was a little more kimchi flavor and overall more sauce given the size of the oysters (they were huge!). The lobster roll was good and I appreciated the different take on a lobster roll but my favorite lobster rolls that really accentuate the lobster flavor and this masked it a little. The hamachi crudo was a surprise. It's a dish you see a lot and I was a little worried about how the pineapple might overtake the rest of the flavors but that didn't happen. The balance between sweet, savory, sour, and crunch from the peanuts was perfect and every bite was really enjoyable. Finally, my favorite was the cold smoked mussels. You never know how fish sauce and tom kha might overwhelm everything but again, their chef understands flavor balance really well. You could taste all the flavors, the smokiness, the slight bitter and sour umami flavors and slight sweetness to round it out. It was outstanding and highly recommend. They also have great cocktails that go well with their dishes. Really enjoyed the experience here and will definitely come back.

They did not rush us even with the time constraint. We ended up getting the lodge and the foggy notion. Both were good - I preferred the lodge as it allowed one to taste the whisky more. Most places at least in Seattle have a large ice cube with very little alcohol. This one you actually had room all around the ice cube and volume wise is worth the price in my personal opinion. There were very well done cocktails. I chose the Saville Painkiller Cobbler which was very similar to Piña Colada with Ube. The drink was such a pretty purple shade, dusted with purple sweet potato/taro powder, and served in a Pineapple shaped glass - so aesthetically pleasing and very easy on the palate! My husband got the Pandan Old Fashioned which was very delicious as well - silky, sweet, boozy with a strong Pandan forward profile. For snacks, we got the Shrimp Chips and the Whipped Ricotta with Soppressata that comes with a generous portion of 4 slices of Rustic bread. The shrimp chips were humongous and so light, airy and crispy with a delicate shrimp flavor. The presentation on the whipped ricotta was so beautiful, and it tasted so good with the Calabrian chili and Soppressata!
