Pretty solid okay rating. Service was super slow, and so was business (lunch on Memorial Day). Waitress was also the hostess and often MIA. Mussels were great - large, basically no empty shells, and tasted very fresh. Highly worth the $15 price tag and the plate was huge considering it's labeled as an app. The seafood platter was just okay ($22) - great fries, grilled shrimp was solid, calamari was very meh like the other reviews have said. If they had subbed the fried calamari with anything better, this place would get at least a four stars. Lastly, we shared a lamb ravioli between the three of us, and it wasn't great. Five raviolis for $28.. lamb filling was sparse and a bit salty for my liking. We came here the other afternoon for a late lunch, and were seated right away. We ordered a half dozen oysters, calamari (only fried), mussels, then for our meals we had Grilled Sirloin Steak and Chicken Florentine. The oysters were okay--very fresh with some sand. Mussels had a great sauce. Fried calamari was not the best, and I'd order something else next time. I did really enjoy the chicken with grapes, and my date's steak was also good. Really enjoyed this place. We were in Salem/Gloucester for the day and were looking for a place to get fresh seafood. This place hit the spot. The calamari was average but the rest of the food was absolutely delicious. We ate every bite of our meal. Drinks were good, food was delicious, service was good. We think this restaurant is a gem! We have not had a mediocre meal there yet. The food is so flavorful and fresh. I don't eat fish or seafood, but the goat cheese ravioli is wonderful. My guy had the poached apple salad, lobster bisque and 12 fried or roasted clams. The staff could be more attentive and dressed more professionally, but that is the least of our concerns. We came here based on the reviews. If I could give 4.5 I would. 1. Hostess - she needs to more cheery when a person walks. Flat, montone and indifferent best describes the initially greeting. I have celiac and allergies to grains, majority of oils and dairy. I usually dont eat but I was starving after a 3 hour sail. The chef was the best! Came after a day out on the harbor and even though it was a long wait for the food, it was so worth it. The boneless hen with garlic mashed potatoes was absolutely amazing. Four of us shared a variety of appetizers and every one of them was beautifully plated and full of flavor. We devoured them all. On the outstanding, amazing level were the Duck Confit Flatbread and Scallops with sautéed corn, peas & bacon. The bruschetta, tuna tartare and fries came in a close second. The food was mediocre and priced ok. But the worst part was the service. We waited fifteen minutes before anyone even came over to see if we wanted water. Then we got this mouthy, little, unattractive wombat with a horrendous attitude and a look on her face like it was her last day on earth. I asked her for a double drink so I didn't have to wait in between and she said that wasn't legal. We had a lovely dinner here last night - we had hoped to eat outside but it was raining. It was our first indoor meal since the pandemic, but they have set things up so that we felt very safe. Highly recommend the pork confit as everyone in our group loved it. We also ordered the duck dumplings, salads, and got the hen and ribeye for entrees; everything was seasoned and cooked perfectly. Also, plated beautifully. We called ahead and asked if we could bring a homemade pan of brownies that they were willing to bring out after our main meal for a surprise birthday celebration which made the occasion very special. They even offered to cut each of us a slice and added a complimentary scoop of vanilla ice cream with some chocolate syrup. The most innovative and exciting new restaurant on Cape Ann! First, the service. Excellent! And so attentive - they actually anticipate what you might want and bring it to your table unasked. And if you ask for something that is not on the menu they will always make it up for you, if they have the ingredients. But it is the food that really blows you away. Beautifully presented and the most wonderful flavors. Absolutely everything I or my friends ordered was fantastic. First, the ravioli are exquisite, especially the mushroom ravioli. Aromatic aromas get your mouth ready for an incredible treat. The thinness of the pasta, flavored with the asparagus, tomato broth / sauce is my absolute favorite. The cod is my second choice - and I have never liked cod before taking a taste of my friend's meal. It is coupled with delicious mash potatoes (the whisper of garlic doesn't overpower like many garlic mashed potatoes too often do) and mushrooms that are perfectly prepared. The chicken dish is also a winner, although I recommend you order the sauce on the side. The chicken is crisped and served on potatoes with an interesting grape and shallot sauce that is unique in presentation and flavors. And the salads! So fresh and with great dressing. I love the arugula salad, my friend swears by the BLT salad, which has an abundance of bacon so if you are a bacon lover you will be overjoyed. The Filet mignon is also excellent and a frequent choice of my husband. It is tender, flavorful and prepared exactly as ordered. I can't speak to the desserts as we are always too stuffed to try them, but they look good when they are brought out to the surrounding tables. I chose a salad with radicchio, endive, 3 tiny seared scallops with a dab of ginger and a slight douse of balsamic and while good, not what I expected for the price. Same with my husband's BLT salad...just underwhelming and pricey. We tried a small bowl of clam chowder too, and while I found many chunks of celery (yuck), I don't recall seeing a piece of clam larger than my small fingernail tip. Overpriced and underwhelming. We had coffee and dessert here. The truffles, mousse, and orange flan were magnificent. The staff was the best: friendly and efficient.

Do yourself a favor and don't go here. The service is some of the worst I've ever had. Our waitress was extremely rude, and 2 of my party's orders were wrong. When we asked to have it fixed, our waitress talked back and blamed us for her mistake. My father asked for scrambled eggs well-done, and he got a well-done fried egg. When he pointed this out, she said, "you should have asked for a scrambled egg if that's what you wanted". This level of rudeness was shocking. The food itself was sub-par at best, and they wouldn't make an omelette to order. They also apparently don't butter their toast without you asking for some reason. The home fries were some of the worst I've ever had as well. This qualifies as one of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had. I hope no one else has the misfortune of going here. read more

I can't tell you how many times I've walked by this restaurant and had not even thought about going in. But, a friend recommended us to meet him there after he had been frequently going on Sundays to watch games and have lunch. This restaurant was the biggest surprise. My husband and I frequently eat out and really were looking for a new restaurant in Gloucester. Our appetizers were delicious- scallops! And the baked haddock was amazing. A beautiful chunk of fish, lightly breaded, cooked perfectly with wonderful flavor. Thank you for such an unexpected surprise. We will be back and we wish you the best during this difficult time for restaurant businesses. Oh and our waitress couldn't had been more pleasant. Had a wonderful experience from start to finish! The martini was spot on, the appetizers were incredible. Oysters were extremely fresh and very chilled, tuna tartare had big chunks and also very fresh, the scallops with the corn and peas is a must, the iceberg wedge salad was huge! This is a new restaurant that just had opened at the end of 2019, and then got hit by Corona. Noticed they were doing takeout so I decided to give it a shot. Excellent. We had shrimp potstickers, buffalo pizza, hanger steak, chicken wings and roasted chicken breast. Every raved about the dishes and sauces. Really glad we tried them to help support them through this challenging time. I recommend you do the same. read more
