Da Glosta House. "Quite Good". Handsome amounts of fresh Haddock, lightly breaded, fried to perfection. The fries were pretty okay. A batter fry thick cut would be more appropriate. These were slim cut fries. Good though. The tarter sauce has a light fresh flavor, excellent. Maple bacon burger is worth selling a pint of blood for. Get it. Your welcome. Bar staff was top notch. Two waitresses moved like fighter jets, bartender was on point. The dude is a fixer. His nickname should be "The Fixer". So say we all.

You're paying for the view at this restaurant, not the food. My mother ordered haddock, scallions, mashed potatoes and I ordered a grilled chicken Mexican salad. I tasted her scallions and mashed potatoes. She and I both thought the potatoes and scallions were bland/tasteless and she said the haddock was also rather tasteless. My mom said the batter was greasy and not crispy. My grilled chicken tasted as if it had been frozen and then thawed and cooked. Waitress was not very attentive to our drinks and didn't offer any dressing for my salad. $35.30 for both our lunches and 1 tea. The cornbread was very good (thick and moist) and view was pretty. Waitress gave us some cornbread to go. My mom had fun feeding the seagull.

Fun place for lunch or dinner. We had the boiled lobster and a fried haddock sandwich. Lobster was superb. Haddock sandwich was just ok. Might be better on a po boy style roll or a piece of folded Texas toast. Or a hoagie. Also it didn't come with tartar so I had to wait a bit for the server to come back to begin eating. Chowder was ok, very gritty. All in all, we enjoyed our dinner but there is room for improvement. Will likely come back another time in the summer.

Warm lobster roll and a beer was perfect for lunch. Loved everything about this space. Easy, casual, quintessential shipping village little eatery.

This place is amazing! I came to Gloucester with one dish in mind and that was the Lobster Roll. It has always been a dream of mine and The Gloucester House fulfilled that. The lobster was savory, the butter well suited the meat, the bread was soft and warm. Everything was great!!! I also had a taste of the fried shrimp, needless to say that shrimp basket can suit two people instead of one. They give you more than enough shrimp to satisfy your needs! I also have to say that the cornbread they serve you is warm and buttery. Just be careful not to eat too much of it! Overall, the service here was great, the restaurant was nice and clean and they give you a nice view of the harbor. The food came out in a timely manner and it tastes just like they caught it the same day. I will truly be returning back to this town and visiting this restaurant again. I also recommend if you're in the area to pay this restaurant a visit.

Our group of four recently had lunch here while visiting Massachusetts. As a bonus, we were able to watch a fish boat unload while lunching. The locally-caught fish dishes were excellent. I had the haddock. The clam chowder and the fish chowder were both excellent. These dishes did not have a ton of ingredients, and the chef wasn't trying to be extra creative with them. The chef really allowed the fish to be the main attraction. While the table received a bread basket, I was given gluten-free rolls, which I really appreciated. The restaurant itself is very clean and comfortable. They have a fireplace for those cold chilly days. There is also dockside patio seating. We sat inside due to rainy weather. There is a more casual outdoor restaurant called the Blue Collar Lobster. It appears to be outdoor deck seating. Both are owned by The Gloucester House. I'm assuming it's open seasonally, but not certain. The servers were pleasant but a little slow. Our water glasses sat empty for a while before we could get their attention for a refill. I noticed this at all tables. Overall, if you are looking for fresh fish, you have found the place.

So I can completely understand why this place can't go beyond 4 stars. Everything is just ok. When you have the tourist drive from the 7 Seas Whale Watch you have guaranteed traffic so that should make you want to make sure the space is clean and you have epic clam chowder for starters. The space is tidy but it's not super clean. The glasses have bits on them so this may be a case of needing a super string washing machine replaced. The food is really just average and nothing to write home about, and for $35 a lobster you should have super fresh and delicious sides, not canned coleslaw. The clam chowder is watery but everyone said it was fine. Other than that it's fine and will do for lunch. It's not bad it's just not food you'll crave again.

My wife and I went for lunch today. The food was excellent and very fresh. We both started with the clam chowder, very good and considering we are both natives of Massachusetts, we are Chowda snobs. For lunch she had the baked Haddock and I had the fish and chips, also very good. Top this off with a very friendly and knowledgeable waitress , Kara , you have some repeat customers. We will definitely be back

My husband said the baked haddock was the very best he's ever had. My Mediterranean salmon was also outstanding. My mother and sister raved about their appetizers, including jumbo shrimp, clams and steamers. Everything we ordered was excellent. I was especially pleased with the serving size. Some restaurants have a nice presentation, yet small serving size, but not Seaport, it had both. To top it off, the Sherry Berry is a dessert everyone must try! Perfect finish to a perfect meal. In addition to the restaurant itself and amazing food, the service was excellent. We were greeted by the extremely friendly manager, Carter, and were well taken care of by our personable waitress Kristina. She was so attentive and pleasant throughout our whole meal. Harbor Views, Fresh Seafood & Coastal Charm at Blue Collar Lobster Co.!…read more Few dining experiences capture the spirit of Gloucester quite like Blue Collar Lobster Co. This charming waterfront seafood spot earned an easy five stars from us and was the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing meal before heading to a concert at The Cut. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the setting. Located right on Gloucester Harbor next to the iconic Gloucester House Restaurant, this cozy nautical eatery offers everything you hope to find on the Massachusetts coast: refreshing sea breezes, colorful lobster boats bobbing in the harbor, seagulls soaring overhead, and spectacular waterfront views in every direction. Inside, the atmosphere is delightfully authentic. Hundreds of colorful fishing buoys hanging from the ceiling create a fun maritime feel that immediately reminds you that you're in one of New England's most historic fishing communities. Before long, the four of us were happily sampling some of the restaurant's fresh seafood favorites. We enjoyed creamy clam chowder, briny oysters on the half shell, succulent shrimp cocktail, and delicious Bang Bang shrimp, all accompanied by cold drinks and unbeatable harbor views. Every bite tasted fresh and flavorful. The ordering process is simple and convenient. Check out the menu, place your order at the window, grab a tray, and find a seat. If possible, choose a table in the screened porch overlooking the water. There's something magical about enjoying seafood while watching fishing boats come and go from the harbor just a few feet away. Blue Collar Lobster Co. offers an impressive menu featuring fresh lobster, handheld sandwiches, fried seafood platters, soups, and appetizers at reasonable prices. The combination of delicious food, friendly atmosphere, stunning scenery, and excellent value makes this a destination we'll gladly return to again and again. If you're visiting Gloucester and want an authentic waterfront seafood experience, don't miss this hidden gem on the harbor- on the Seven Seas Wharf! Highly recommended!

Hungry and with no time for deeper research, we decided to try Causeway Restaurant after seeing its high Yelp rating. The restaurant shares a small front parking lot with White Farms Ice Cream, but fortunately, we easily found parking in the back. Our first impression was that the place feels quite outdated. The tables are packed very closely together, making it difficult to get to your seat or even visit the bathroom without accidentally brushing against other diners. There's also only one bathroom for the entire restaurant, and it could definitely use some refreshing. The biggest issue during our visit was the heat. It was 86°F outside, and unfortunately, the air conditioning wasn't working. The restaurant was very hot, and I genuinely felt bad for the staff who had to cook and serve in those conditions. We also felt like the cutlery, dishes, and glasses were a little outdated and could use a refresh. Updating these small details would make the overall experience feel even nicer. On the positive side, Causeway is BYOB, which is a nice option. According to the menu, they charge $1 per glass for beer and wine setup. The menu prices are comparable to those at much fancier seafood restaurants. We ordered cheeseburgers from the kids' menu (ours were supposed to be medium but came out a little burnt), as well as smelt and fish-and-shrimp platters. The seafood itself was fresh, although we felt it could have used a little more seasoning and salt. The absolute best part of our experience was the service. Everyone was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and genuinely pleasant. Our server was especially attentive and wonderful with the kids. We even noticed how warmly she greeted regular customers and treated them almost like family. That kind of hospitality really stands out. Overall, I think Causeway has a lot of potential. The fresh seafood and excellent staff are a great foundation, but the restaurant would benefit significantly from some renovations, better spacing between tables, a refreshed bathroom, and working air conditioning. With those improvements, the fairly high menu prices would feel much more justified.
