We were here for an early lunch two Sundays ago. It had been a few years since my last visit which I recalled as having been lovely. When we arrived the combo Sunday brunch and lunch menu was in effect. Since we had been up since the crack of dawn with breakfast long behind us, neither of us was in the mood for brunch/breakfast type food. That said, as many do during brunch we did start with a Bloody Mary each. ;-) They were spicy and quite tasty. Good job on those. I ordered the fish and chips which seems to be my go-to these days. I was not disappointed. The fish was not overcooked which seems to be a problem for some places when they fry fish. The coating was done in what seemed to be a tempura style and so the crust was wonderfully light and not at all greasy. It did not cling to the fish which I like. Delicious, not oily at all and perfectly cooked white fish. The fries were just okay. Tom ordered the burger which came with a gorgeous looking shiny, dark crusted bun and loaded with lettuce, tomatoes and relish and a nicely sized burger. He said it was delicious. It was so hefty it needed to be properly managed by cutting it in half and even then it was a mouthful. We sat on the porch which in warm weather is open sided but now has large clear plastic sheets covering the window area. It had a lovely greenhouse effect and felt cozy. We had a beautiful view of the harbor. I think this would be my preferred space to eat. next visit. Tasty food, nice ambience, helpful and attentive waiter. Dirty vodka martini and grilled oysters and tuna tartar to start. The martini was not dirty, even after extra brine delivered it was a boring martini with one Spanish olive (dumped) at the bottom with no toothpick to pick it up if you would like to eat it. Grilled oysters had no taste really and way too overpriced for 5 tiny oysters. Tuna was not appetizing looking and again really no flavor. The chips that came with the tuna were great. Clam chowder tasty. Shrimp and pasta dish (forgot the name but was recommended by the waiter) was oily mostly pasta and the shrimp were med size served with tails on. If I'm being honest because the tails were a pain to dig out and take off it took away from the overall dish. I was really looking forward to going to this restaurant and was sadly disappointed. read more

They had great options for brunch but none of the food really wowed us. The eggs Benedict was cold by the time it reached us, the burger wasn't super flavorful, and the salads both were just ok. Neither dressing was particularly good. The best thing was the salmon piece on the Ceaser salad. Especially since the rest of the salad was really small and seemed to be 3 uncut pieces of lettuce. None the less, this is a beautiful location. This is a busy spot even though it is tucked away in a difficult area. Went to the Landing for Easter with my girlfriend's family, food was really good and our server was awesome. But kinda hard to enjoy seeing another table nearby giving their server a rough time. At one point it even sounded like they straight up insulted her, which was pretty uncomfortable to hear. She kept trying to apoligize and stay polite but they weren't having it, and then she just disappeared. Later the manager came over and was being super friendly with that same table, even offering them stuff on the house. I get trying to keep everyone happy but watching that happen kinda threw us off. Decidedly mediocre food, small portions, and too expensive.... (2 people, $160 with the 20% tip). And our reservation came with a time-limit. But to make matters worse, when we asked for 2 or 3 additional, small toast pieces to go with an expensive, small, Ricotta cheese appetizer and were told we would have to pay extra for it !!!!!! ???????? We were a group of 4 that walked in on a Friday evening. We were greeted right away and welcomed in by two hostess. Upon sitting our waitress was an older lady in her 50's who was the star of the night. She had great energy all night long and was pure entertainment. The manager made his rounds and was friendly saw us squinting from the sun, and addressed the blinds and later opened them back up for the views. Drinks were cold and spot on, along with refills on drinks and water. Calamari and breaded green beans were the appetizers to start and they did not disappoint they were amazing. The meals were ordered were two crispy haddock's (large portion) and great flavor, salmon which was really great, and the pasta dish and garlic bread with it was amazing. We were walking around and needed to rest and eat. Our server Josh was wonderful. I finally ordered the New England Clam Chowder. This had bacon, potatoes, and clams. This was delicious. Josh encouraged me to try the lobster roll. Oh my. New cook in the kitchen. For some reason he added parsley to the lobster. I tried to eat it and I just could not eat it. The food was very good, and eventually the service was good, but we waited 10 minutes at our table and had to get up and ask the hostesses (yes, there were two) TWICE to corral a server to take our order. Once there, the waiter seemed very very annoyed. "What is wrong with you people? You get seated in a restaurant and expect same-day service?" Bees humming around the table were bothersome, and the appetizer bread arrived with the entrees. This debacle falls on management. I will be interested to see if they respond to this review. Chef Pineda is an Irish-Colombian, his second on the helm is Latino... I'm latino and have latino sons ranging from ages 23-39 and I wouldn't hesitate to bring them in a heartbeat - they love beer, good drinks and seafood! They also behave... so I suspect HIGHLY because I KNOW my people - that something may have been "off" that day. Particularly when you drive to Boston to this location because you had a good bar experience - maybe hoping to find the young lady met the first time... (grannie has been around the block a couple of times, and yes, my baby boy went to Babbos before Batalli fell out of grace, when he was 2 years old and Emerils when he was 4, Chef Garces restaurants when he was 6... and every single time I was applauded on my kid...) - SO listen to grannie - IF you are young and latino, make a decent living and have money to spend on something other than chicken nuggets, love seafood and New England beachy-towns, you know how to clean your own apartment and cook, know how to behave in public, treat people decently and tip well and are good to your mom... give it a try. I really took a large liking to Marblehead in big thanks to The Landing. The servers were friendly and this local watering hole (no pun intended) had a great sense of community to it. During the daylight, it had relaxing views of the water and a nice ambiance. While in Marblehead I basically opted to live on lobster rolls since they're hard to get where I'm from. The Landing lobster roll did not disappoint! It was a generous portion and I appreciated it wasn't overly seasoned. They had great drinks, drink specials, and starters like the New England clam chowder. I found the atmosphere here very welcoming and calming, and we liked it so much we came here multiple times, which is something we don't always do while traveling. The worst restaurant I've ever been to. The food was honestly disgusting and I am not picky. I had two black hairs baked into the haddock. (Picture attached) On top of that, the waiter accidentally spilled the plates he was carrying on myself and my purse. Totally ok- I know accidents happen. He was very apologetic, but It is an expensive bag that was now stained with red marinara sauce from our calamari appetizer. After all of this, the manager apologized and brought over the check for us to pay! We had only ordered one drink and two appetizers at this point & sent back our entrees due to the hairs. Absolutely insane customer service! The owner was there and didn't even bother to come over to our table. On the way out, he asked us to give them another try and said "I'm not sure what happened today". Our waiter was very kind and attentive but the customer service from the management was awful. A friend and I made 11:15 brunch reservations and arrived around 10:45am to grab a coveted parking spot. We stood in line with the pre-opening crowd and were seated early (and on the patio)! much to our delight. We had plans for brunch fair but the specials were too good to pass up so we had lunch and cocktails instead. The server was a total sweetheart and took my friends food allergy very seriously (he even went so far as to check behind the bar and read the labels to ensure no cross-contamination or secret ingredients). It was a wonderful experience and we were in and out of there in what seemed like a very relaxing 45 minutes. Went to dinner last night and had our 2 dogs with us. The staff was so nice to us and our dogs. The covered patio was perfect.
