We were in the area and this place was suggested some time ago for Italian. We tried the trio appetizer. We enjoyed the mozzarella sticks. The ravioli was good, just toasted ravioli. I'm picky about my calamari. It was ok. Not many places serve it, so in comparison, it didn't wow me. We tried the chicken scallopini and chicken Parmesan. The chicken for the scallopini tasted like an over-beat chicken cutlet. The ends were a little tough and chewy. I like sauce and so it could have used more. I didn't taste any lemon. Husband said the sauce for chicken Parmesan was too watery, lacked flavor. He compared it to Ragu. Service was great! Very nice and attentive. Ambiance wasn't bad, considering we were seated on the bar side at 5 o'clock and bar was full of ladies. Overall, we are disappointed. read more

I recently ate at Oliveto and had a mix of good and bad. I started with the calamari appetizer, which was really good. It was crispy, not too greasy, and tasted fresh. A great way to begin the meal. But the main dish I tried, the new "5 Meat" plate was a letdown. It was way too salty, which made it hard to enjoy the different meats. The marinara sauce didn't help either. It was very light and didn't have much flavor. I was hoping for a rich, bold sauce to go with all that meat, but it just wasn't there. Aside from the food the atmosphere was below par. The rest of the restaurant had an intimate soft lit atmosphere. My table was beaming with a bright white led light that was flickering. This killed the atmosphere and overall vibe. Oliveto in Moore, Oklahoma has always been our go-to dinner spot--and it still is every time we're back in town. The food is consistently delicious, with classic Italian flavors done right, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for catching up over dinner with friends. The service on this trip leads me to give less than five stars because our waitress seemed to need training as she reached across some of our party as they were trying to eat to collect used plates and did not have the interaction that we have been accustomed to over the years, but that sort of thing happens. The restaurant was pretty busy but I was seated right away. It took a minute for the waitress to come over but, in her defense, she was also taking care of everyone at the bar and it was full. Opted for the Rosemary chicken. It took a while to come out but was very good. I had doubts about the jalapeño risotto but they were unfounded - it too, was tasty. Super relaxed atmosphere. Loud because everyone was talking but not "too loud". Waited a while to be able to order a second glass of wine and for my tab. Again, though, she was busy. I get it. Plenty of parking. Fair prices. I talked to the server before ordering my meal. They take proper precautions for gluten free food. I was able to order a GF appetizer, pasta for dinner and even a dessert ( I didn't get dessert I was so full from dinner) They bring the GF food on a different color plate so you know that's it's GF. The manager brought me my food and the server brought my finances. The food was good and I did not get sick. The server was very nice and so was the manager. We had a lovely birthday dinner for my husband here last month. They had several gluten-free options for me, served on different colored plates, and brought out separately from the others at the table. I got shrimp scampi with gluten-free pasta. Delicious! Others at the table got pizza, a sandwich and another (regular) pasta dish. We all agreed this restaurant is a hidden gem. Reasonably priced. Great service. And they brought us a complimentary birthday dessert for the table to share. My husband said it was fabulous! I also got their chocolate martini. Instead of vodka, it was made with whiskey. No Flavor At All:( Walking in the place looks really nice, great ambiance and very clean. We were greeted and sat quickly. I ordered the Trio which is spaghetti and meatball, lasagna and pasta with Alfredo sauce and husband ordered shrimp Alfredo. The meatball had a really odd flavor to it, between microwaved meat or bad Parmesan. The lasagna had the same flavor so it's something in their sauce. The Alfredo sauce had zero flavoring at all. We added salt and lots of pepper to make it edible. The meals were also served with a breadstick- it was very hard and again no flavor at all. To be honest everything tasted like food that had been poured from a bottle or can and heated up twice in the microwave. I ate half of my Alfredo but was unable to eat the spaghetti/meatball or lasagna nor did I take any of it home with us. We paid, left and ate somewhere else. read more

The tough thing is, that I've lived in Europe for 4 years and I've never been able to enjoy American Italian food since. The food, was like every other Italian restaurant I've been to. But! The service was great. The ambiance and inside was nice. I would recommend the place for that. I came because many of my friends recommend the restaurant. One word that describes Oliveto is Busy. We went at 530, and it was already jumping. I like to start with things that did not go well, and it was only one thing it was the new chocolate cake it came out freezing cold, just a minor over site, I am sure. I ordered a peach bellinibwhich was delicious. We also had the cheese bread. It came out fresh ,cheesy even the marinara sauce that accompanied the bread was good. For my entree, I ordered the chicken Primavera with no lemon butter sauce substitute angel hair pasta. Looking for somewhere different. Drove 11 miles to eat at Oliveto about 7:30 Saturday. Not too busy, hostess took us to isle on side, very back booth by storage area. We sat for awhile while waitresses walked back and forth past us. After realizing we may not get waited on, I stood up to see if I could get someone's attention. I asked a girl if we had a waitress and she nicely said she would find out. Then...... A girl came to table and said in a short voice., She was taking food out. Not a sorry or hi, just started with that comment. She asked our drinks, left and we both just looked at each other. I think she saw me take her picture because she stared checking back with us. She refilled our drinks and was attentive but not friendly. I also watched another waitress near us that was very friendly and seemed good. So ours just had an attitude. Food was just ok, my Asiago spinach was alittle bland. I kept trying to taste the Jalapeno Bacon. Husband had the 3 meat. Meatballs good. Lots of good reviews but I can not give one. We stopped in for lunch in our way through, this is a great Italian restaurant! The pasta was cooked perfectly, flavors were spot on, and we left with full - not sick- belly's! The bruschetta sundae, such a fun appetizer and very delicious! I've had pasta primavera from several Italian restaurants, this one was so different in such an amazing way! The calamari was good, the entrées we're good portion sizes, but the flavor needed salt and pepper to enhance the flavor. The bread pudding dessert had good flavor. Made a call to make a reservation at 6:26. I was told to couldn't make a reservation! Then I asked if I could do a call ahead! I was told no. We arrived at restaurant at 6:48. I was asked if we had a reservation. I let them know I was told they weren't taking reservations! Manager told me, "oh, we were completely booked when you called". ! I'm let him know I just called 10 minutes earlier! They all looked at each other and said "sorry". Very frustrating! Ten minutes earlier I was told the wait was 25 minutes. Now the wait time is 45 minutes! Again, very frustrating! They really need to be consistent in what they tell everyone!
