We got a mailer for a free meal with another entree and thought "why not"? The service was good. Our server was very sweet and just the right amount of attentive. The ambiance is dated. Came in because we had a free meal special. The restaurant seemed clean. There were a few people there already. Took a couple of minutes for us to be greeted and seated. Part of our free meal was the choice of unlimited salad or Italian nachos. I tried to order the Italian nachos and the server informed us that we couldn't have those because they had served too many today. What? I said "OK I'll have the unlimited salad. " she then said "no. You only get ONE salad." ... well that's not what the offer states. We go ahead and place our order and lo and behold. The table who was seated after us got a big plate of Italian nachos. What the heck? I don't even understand the point in denying us what we wanted to eat. The fettuccine Alfredo was dry. Not sure there was even sauce on it. I picked this place for me and my husband first anniversary and I was disappointed!!! We ordered 2 spicy chicken and shrimp meals and asked for no shrimp, with extra chicken instead. The food was good overall, but the chicken tasted really bad. We still took the rest home because we paid $80. For 2 plates and nachos . Worst service we have ever received at a Johnny Carinos. We went for the half price mega platter. There was a family of 8 that was waiting to be seated when we arrived and after 10 mins they gave up and left. We waited 10 mins at the host stand before we were even asked how many was in our party. We arrived at 8PM and about 5 other tables in the whole restaurant. No excuses of why we weren't greeted sooner. The hostess was too busy bussing a large table. Ummm, I'm sorry there are plenty of other clean table in the whole restaurant but you want us to wait that long to be seated. Table was completely wet on top when we were seated. We asked for balsamic and 3 more bread plates since she brought one dirty one and needed two more. Literally took her 10 mins to bring it back. We ordered nachos, family salad and mega platter of ckn fett Alfredo. She apologized and said she accidentally rang everything up all at once so ALL of the food was brought out all at once. No salad plates, no tongs for the salad or the pasta. I told her we ordered chicken on the alfredo and started to tell me that it didn't come with chicken. I told her she didn't say anything when I ordered it and told her we wanted chicken on it even if we had to pay extra. She expected us (party of 6) to eat all this food on small bread plates. Ridiculous!!! When she asked us what kind of dressing we wanted on the salad we wanted ranch and Italian but she said it came in a bowl and we could only choose one. BUT she brought them out in four 2 oz cups. So you're telling me they couldn't do half and half on how it was served. Portion size of "mega" platter is nothing short of 2 regular sized serving spread out on a big platter. Looks like your staff needs a lot of training. We are regulars of the Carinos chain but won't be back to this location. Customer service is what keeps your restaurant open. Do better!! read more

Portion sizes are too small for the cost . $$$ Lasagna was bland. Used to be a favorite place for my wife and I over 25 years.

My fiancée and I went here since a customer gave him a gift card. They were slow and it took about 10 minutes to get seated. After being seated it took 20 minutes for our server to greet us. We immediately placed our order but it still took 15 minutes for my salad to come out. My fiancée got a "Italian nachos" which was mozzarella, peppers, jalapeños and olives. Our food came out about 10 minutes after that. The sauce tasted sour. My fiancée ended up throwing up in the bathroom. The moment he left. The server came up to ask for a five star review on google. Been a while since we have eaten at Johnny Carino's. Had an early dinner here today. The bread is fantastic and I love the oil with spices and the roasted garlic pieces for dipping. I had the bow tie festival, my favorite dish here but something was missing, maybe bacon, and it was a little bitter. My wife had the artichoke spaghetti which was not very flavorful. She is taking it home to add some flavor for a late supper. Service was excellent the waitress was nice and attentive to our needs. The restaurant is a little run down and needs a refresh. The table was sticky and the booth seats are saggy and not very supportive. This used to be a nice place with good food, it's a shame to see it going down hill. read more

Family has been here several times since it is close to one of my doctor's offices. Even stopped by here for to go food after an out patient surgery. Food, Service and Ambiance are great. We eat in often and order the Lasagna to go since there is a special price on the Lasagna that way. Don't know if they still have that special running. We hope they keep it up. read more

Place used to be a high end - cloth napkins, receipt holder, food tasted great; now sadly today is the last time my family is eating at this restaurant. Service was sub par, I had to ask for refills and we were the only table, when we finished eating the server just brought a receipt.. asked my server to break a extra $20 bill to tip, he brought my same twenty back with the change from the bill ($6). I work in the service industry so I tend to let a lot slide before I feel the need to complain, but - my experience last night was horrible. It took 25 minutes just to receive our cocktails. 45 minutes for our cups of soup..and I can only assume our server forgot to put in our order when it was originally given to her. Because I flagged down another server to tell them we'd been waiting for our soups for quite awhile and when she brought them she said they were JUST getting started on our food in the kitchen (we had been there for an hour at this point). So we asked if they could just box it up for us. A manager never came by to check on our table to communicate what had gone wrong. Even after they ran my card on someone else's check... This place used to be awesome but the last two times I've been there it's not been that great. Time before last we waited about 15 minutes to be seated. The waitress said they no longer had a hostess and they had to do the seating. That's ok but we had 4 waitresses looking at us from the back of the restaurant and none bothered to seat us. I noticed that they are in the process of a makeover so last week decided to give them another try. We were seated quickly but I think the waitress was new. I ordered takeout from here 2 times during a hospital stay. I had one of the Italian Combo dinners, Chicken Scaloppini, Johnny's Handmade Lasagna, and spaghetti with lemon butter cream sauce. It was all delicious, the lemon butter cream sauce was especially nice. Another night I ordered the Johnny's BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger and was happy to find the burger was flame chargrilled, my favorite style of cooking a burger. This review is strstrictly on our server Tiffany. The food was great when we finally received it. We waited 35 minutes to just get a drink order. It wasn't busy or the waitress wasn't overwhelmed. She was just prejudiced. I'm Native and my friend is Mexican. We were served last and everyone that arrived AFTER us were served and cashed out by the time we got our "Special ". She, Tiffany was her name, and she even brought us the toasted garlic and oil for our bread. She had a loaf WITH her when she dropped off the oil but gave it to a white couple. We had to wait 15 minutes for ours. We were there 1 hour and 45 minutes and hardly ate. Food was spectacular, service was horrid. We used to go there when Donna was there. WTF! $25 for mama's spaghetti without spaghetti sauce? You can't make this up but that's what happened. Sunday dinner was ruined! Sunday I placed an order online totalling $76 + 5 for tip. I get home and get the spaghetti for my boyfriend and there NO SPAGHETTI SAUCE. I called and talked to the manager and her solution was that I come back and pick up a CUP of SPAGHETTI sauce!!!!
