I'm very surprised at the service I received today. Not in a good way. I told the hostess how many people would be in my party. The hostess immediately started talking to another coworker about their 6:30 pm reservations. At this time it was around 4:15. If the conversation would have been quick...there would not be a problem. She never apologized after the couple of minutes of us standing there. We were seated and our hostess who was also our server seemed very annoyed. We ordered the stuffed mushroom and the meatballs which were tasty. Our appetizers were brought out, and she asked what we wanted for our entrees. I stated that we were going to leave, due to them being "SO BUSY". We searched for Italian food and this restaurant came up as an option. I will say, the setup, atmosphere, as well as our server was great!!! The appetizers was the best part of the meal----about the only good part of this experience. The foos was OK. A little bland, not real Italian food (which I'd expect with a name and setup like this) Our guest ordered veal parmesan. The veal itself was TOUGH and pretty gross. We found out that the veal was frozen. With our guest being from Chicago, this was a complete turn off compared to what she's used to. The spaghetti that it came with was bland. The biggest turn off was the manager that came, asked what the problem was and after her explaining that it was completely distasteful (and told him she would at least pay for her side of spaghetti that it came with) he REALLY tried to convince her that she needed to pay for it even though she didn't like it. Saying he wish she wouldn't waste the their food and next time just don't order it... EXCUSE ME??? That is totally unprofessional. After that Italian donuts were ordered to go and we go home, ready to indulge... to open the plate up to rock hard donuts that a knife would barley cut. $10.00 desert down the drain. Recently visited Oliviana's for a wine tasting. I'd been meaning to make my way there, but finally the opportunity presented itself. After enjoying the various wines the restaurant were considering adding to the menu. I dined. I had the Stuffed Mushroom appetizer, which was very large. I'm not complaining though. I enjoyed it because of the ricotta and feta cheese. I'm a cheese fan. I also ordered a side salad that I was unable to eat because the Stuffed Mushroom was so filling. The atmosphere at Olviana's is very nice. It's laid back and upscale. I was surprised to see how many televisions they had in the space, but they are also a bar. I had a chance to meet a the Chef too. Oliviana's has really great events too that you wouldn't know about by just looking. They have a daily happy hour from 3PM-7PM. I'm also told by staff that they have DJ weekly. Overall, great service. Our waitress was so nice and came by at the perfect time. They also have wi-fi for guests. Yaay! The parking is easy too. First let me say the service was excellent. An attentive and polite staff who took very good care of us (a pretty large party). Well trained servers can make up for a lot of kitchen issues. The gold stars stop there. A restaurant with "Italiano" in their name with no ravioli, stuffed shells, manicotti or other baked pasta dish on the menu? I don't think so. I had fettuccine alfredo with shrimp. The pasta was cooked nicely, a perfect al dente, and the sauce wasn't overpowering. Actually I'd probably lean towards bland. The "sautéed shrimp" which were to be on my dish consisted of four small shrimp which had been oversaturated with butter and garlic to the point of being mushy. Nothing truly sautéed about them. Another member of our group had lasagna. Way too many onions, and undercooked a tad. The veal and chicken parmesan were indistinguishable from each other until you cut open the meat. To start off, the server was very attentive to tables around us, but not to us... We did not receive any bread, which was disappointing because we were waiting for a significant amount of time for our food. It was an open kitchen and you could clearly see the tension between the staff. They clearly were having some issues. My steak was ordered medium, but most of it came out raw. My husband's risotto was cold. Unfortunately, the server did not come to our table during our meal. He came after my children and husband were finished. He asked how everything was and I told him/showed him the steak. He asked if i wanted to have the kitchen make a new one. I graciously declined and said I would just take it home and cook it. I was not looking for anything, but for a $45.00 steak, a manager should of come over to the table. I recommend going to Oliviana's on a night when they offer their regular menu. Website promoted a Wine down Wednesday special with half price bottles of wine but after asking, it was reported to be incorrect and not available. Food was good, waited over 40 minutes (according to our waiter) for our food which seemed like a long time since there were only two other tables of people. I asked for extra sauce for my pasta, which was served along with an additional charge although no mention of that was made. Bread was requested, and served along with an extra charge. Overall, I won't be heading back soon. Too much nickel and dime-ing for an upscale restaurant. Just raise the price a dollar and serve the bread! read more

It had penne, big delicious shrimp, scallops (they were the small ones, it would have been better with the large scallops), I think there were some crawfish and crab too. It was in a light cream sauce and you could really taste the seafood. I paired it with a bottle of Pinot Grigio and it was a perfect match. The fresh French bread was soft and warm. This place was "ok". The husband and I went here for date night. The service was awesome. The food was decent. I got the Olivianas pasta. Which was tasty. The sausage was a little spicy for my liking....but it was good. It just didn't knock my socks off. The husband got his usual....fettuccini Alfredo. He did live on the wild side a bit and got it with shrimp. He said his dish was alright. Just run of the mill pasta. I also got a drink. It was ok but tasted a lot like medicine. I was a little disappointed they didn't serve any bread with their entrees. What Italian restaurant doesn't have side bread?? Came here after driving around much of Augusta and wanted to experience a local /close to ANGC restaurant as referred to me by some locals at Mema's Had One. This seemed to be the only one of many open at Surrey Center on Sunday which was disappointing since there were many people who came past our outside table and didn't stay due to what appeared to be a long wait. All 4 of us got salads and paired off on 2 pizzas. We all were ridiculously hungry and very much satisfied with the food - my pizza in particular was overloaded with veggies (yay!) and the Ceasar salad was perfect. However, our waitress would sometimes disappear for long periods of time. Not sure where she went, but it kind of confused me since our area only had a handful of tables. Had to flag down a few others for assistance (paying with another CC, water refills) but overall enjoyed it! read more

This has been my go-to resturant for the past year and a half. I've been here more than 30 times probably. By myself, as part of large parties, with my co-worker, and my family normally comes here at least twice a month after church Sunday. Can you tell I love it?? Service is great, portions are great, and prices are reasonable, particularly during lunch during the week. Recently, however, there have been some major changes on the Sunday menu that are bothersome. Business is booming for them, but I have noticed that items on the brunch menu are priced anywhere from $2 to $6 higher than the regular weekly lunch menu, with no increase in serving side. As a matter of fact, the portions seem to be a little smaller than normal. For ecamaample, the Mediterranean salad (one of my favorites during the qeek) has been added to the "new" brunch menu, but instead of it being $8 as it is during the week, it is $12 for Sunday brunch, with no difference in size. Appetizers are higher and pizzas are anywhere from $2 - $5 higher, with very limited selections (missing popular pizzas like robiola e pesto). Also, selections are extremely limited compared to the previous Sunday brunch menu, missing heartier entrees like the ribeye chimichurri and blackened salmon. I love this restaurant a lot, but with the poor selection I almost couldn't figure out what to get last time, as all of my favorites had disappeared. I'm also not happy abput having to pay for more for the same dish I could get cheaper during the week. It seems rather dishonest to me to be capitalizing on the Sunday brunch crowd. This place is a great addition to the Surrey Center. A quick sidenote for anyone visiting the area; be sure to look it up for all for shops, restaurants, wine and spirits, etc. located here. It is right around the corner from Augusta National. The atmosphere walking in tells you what a great experience you are about to have. I will mention there is outdoor seating, but the heat took me inside that night. Altogether the professional team and a very intriguing chandelier caught my attention first, I was also very surprised by the amount of space inside. There is bar seating, booths, and tables. I had a reservation and was informed when I placed it that a party of 45 were coming about the same time. That gives you an idea of how many people this place can hold. That said, the noise level was not extreme. I started out with a salad. Reading the ingredients, I just had to. The fresh arugula, the feta cheese, the delicate dressing atop. It lived up to its description. I also ordered a couple of pizzas. Hopefully you realize that these were not frozen dough, out of a box pies. Handmade, wood brick oven cooked, farm-to-table ingredient pies are what is served here. Though I ordered a glass of wine, my water glass was also never empty. A wonderful experience and a place I want to visit again soon, now that the temperatures will allow me to sit outside. *Insider's Tip -If you can make it, go on a Tuesday night. Live jazz starts at 7 pm (one of the best groups in the area) and BOGO on any glass of wine or beer starts at 4 pm. -If it is your first time, get a pizza. I ordered chicken picatta and they brought me a cheese pizza. My guests got their food but had to wait 10 minutes for utensils. I still hadn't received my entree yet. No one ever checked on us. No bread was offered. Empty glasses and app plate remained on the table even after we paid. It was my friends birthday so I didn't want to make a fuss. Horrible Experience!! My fiancé and I had a WONDERFUL time at Oliviana this week. Our server was very nice and helpful when we were picking our wine and the food was absolutely delicious. When we asked for boxes (because we had so much amazing food we couldn't even finish it!) he even took our plates back, boxed them up, and wrote what was in each box and the date. My boyfriend and I have been coming to Olivianas for years now and we have never had an issue but after tonight we will not be returning, ever. We came into the restaurant tonight to have dinner, we both order food and my boyfriend ordered a drink, Maker's Mark. As we received our food and his drink, after a little bit of eating and sipping, we began to notice there were a FEW things floating in his drink. As we take a closer look we realized that there are GNATS floating in his drink, not one but FIVE GNATS floating in his drink. Our server was very nice and handled the situation as best as she could but management, we felt, could have offered more than just to take the drink off of the bill. As I said before we are serial customers for years but to have been drinking gnats/bugs and then be told that the only thing they could do was take the drink off of the bill was very distasteful and disrespectful. First let me start off by saying our waiter was a delight, and definitely made the night way better. He was prompt and had a wonderful personality. For dinner ended up with the mushroom ravioli and while it was flavorful the portion was almost laughable. I'm a small gal but when I go hungry after an entree that's a bad sign. For almost $20 I was expecting more than 8-9 pieces of ravioli. It's just really disappointing to have something that tastes decent but is barely enough for a child. Prices are steep but food is decent. Probably will not be back just based on the portion sizes. read more

We like the atmosphere of this restaurant and it is one of the better restaurants in the area. Features a diverse Italian menu and good wine list. Our pastas however, were surprisingly bland. Service was friendly, however, our server went AWOL a number of times and we had to get one of the other servers to help us after some things were not done properly. The mushroom was exceptionally delicious it had feta cheese and diced tomato on top of it and it is served on a bed of fresh lettuce greens . Entrees we ordered the Mushroom ravioli and the chicken picante both entrees were delicious but they took a long time to arrive to the table. They serve a delicious baked bread that is presented with olive oil and balsamic .
