They were friendly, knowledgeable, and made the process of getting a same-day appointment easy. I was scheduled with Uzma Haque, who I was told is a senior specialist. Based on that title, I felt confident she would know exactly what she was doing. I explained clearly that I wanted my greys blended with cool-toned grey highlights. I emphasized multiple times that I did not want blonde or yellow tones and was hoping for a more silver/white result. Uzma reassured me that this was her specialty and that she was very creative, which made me feel comfortable moving forward. During the consultation, she mentioned a $75 charge for a haircut, which I initially declined due to the high price. As the service went on, I checked in several times to confirm the highlights would not turn out yellow. I was repeatedly reassured they would be close to what I wanted. Unfortunately, the results were very disappointing. After the first toning, my hair was noticeably yellow. A second toning improved it slightly, but it still was not the cool grey tone I requested. I also noticed a harsh, visible line where the highlights began along my part, which looked unnatural and poorly blended. When I brought this up, along with my concern about the yellow tones, I felt my feedback was dismissed. I was told, "everyone else thinks it's white," which was frustrating as my opinion as the paying client should have been the priority. After spending about five hours in the salon, I decided to go ahead with the haircut. However, I was then told there wasn't enough time because my stylist needed to leave soon. After asking if someone else could do it, she ultimately stayed to complete it. In the end, what started as a very positive experience turned into a disappointing one. I left paying $368 for a result that looked worse than when I arrived. My hair appeared unevenly colored, with a stark line and noticeable yellow tones, and it felt damaged and brittle. I now have to seek additional services elsewhere to correct it. Based on my experience, I would not return or recommend this salon, especially given the high cost compared to the outcome.

She is very attentive and has an innate ability to remember intimate details about every client. This is a very unique trait. Today I decided to go blonder than ever and I'm very pleased with my final look. Liz took the time to give me an excellent blow dry at the end of my cut and color. You truly walk out ready to attend an event. I have received many compliments on my hair since Liz has started doing it. Previous hairstylists have never made me walk away even the slightest bit content. A cut and color is expensive but you get a good amount of time with the stylist and walk away happy. I can't tell you how many times I've walked away wanting to cry after a hair cut or color. You can trust Liz with your hair and even let her run wild with an idea.... She does not disappoint. I wish the front desk staff were more pleasant however. You do not always get a welcome or pleasant goodbye unfortunately. Based on their ratings and "after" pictures on their website, I decided to make an appointment for a consultation and cut with Toya (there was a thumbnail photo of her on the website and I loved her hair so figured she was the stylist I wanted to go with!). It was a great decision! I arrived for my appointment and everyone in the salon greeted me with genuine warmth, and Toya was/is particularly amazing. She showed me to her chair and we had a discussion about my hair journey and goals as she gently finger combed out my hair. She talked to me at length about hair routines, products, and care. Based on my hair length, she recommended a cut and began cutting my hair. After the cut, she sectioned my hair and applied water and a mousse or some such styling product to my hair, working her way across my head quickly. When she turned me around to face the mirror, I couldn't have been more in love with my curls! I sat under a dryer for perhaps 20 minutes for the hair to set and was overwhelmingly pleased with the results! Toya and I spoke about follow up visits, I paid and left. Later that evening, I received an email from Toya with hair care tips and suggested products. She totally took care of me and I will absolutely continue going to her to guide me through this journey! That is not what I received. I arrived with long, full, healthy hair that I had spent years growing and caring for. My hair was mid back length, and I communicated clearly that my priority was improving the shape while preserving as much length as possible. I did not request a dramatic cut. There was no thorough consultation. Yasmine hardly spoke to me throughout my appointment. She asked a few questions at the outset. There was no education component aside from attempting to sell me products at the conclusion of the service. Despite my very clear request to maintain my length, a significant amount of length was removed, far beyond what was discussed or was necessary to improve the shape of my hair. That loss is permanent. It will take years for my hair to fully recover, and there is nothing that can be done in a follow-up appointment to restore what was taken. Beyond the length loss, the cut itself lacked cohesion. It did not account for the different shrinkage rates across my curl patterns, which range from approximately 3C to 4B, and as a result the shape dried unevenly in an angular helmet shape with blunt awkward bangs, rather than nicely framing my face. The styling portion of the service further obscured the cut. Extremely heavy product was used, weighing my hair down and masking the actual shape. I was not given meaningful education or instruction on how to achieve my desired style at home, despite this being a central component of what differentiates a Curl Discovery Cut from a standard haircut. I left without clarity on how to properly style my own hair and with a result that looked nothing like what I had requested. In addition, the handling of my hair during the service was uncomfortably rough. In the days following my appointment, I experienced ongoing breakage that I had not been dealing with prior. After the appointment, I attempted to resolve the situation in good faith. The only option offered was an in-person assessment and potential adjustment under the salon's service guarantee. No refund, partial or otherwise, was considered. Given the extent of the length already removed, the lack of trust created by the initial experience, and the fact that additional cutting could not undo the damage, returning to the same chair did not feel like a meaningful or safe remedy. If they were genuinely sorry for what happened and the aspects of the service that were not delivered, they would offer a meaningful remedy, not a requirement to put my hair back into the same hands that already damaged it. After my experience, I read additional reviews and noticed a consistent pattern. Multiple clients describe receiving little to no actual consultation or education as part of the Curl Discovery Cut, despite that being a core part of how the service is marketed. Others note difficulty working with looser or mixed curl patterns, overly heavy styling that obscures the cut, failure to account for shrinkage, rough handling during detangling, and breakage following their visit. When concerns are raised, responses from ownership frequently rely on the service guarantee policy rather than acknowledging gaps in execution or offering a proportionate resolution.
