I love everything about this coffee shop. Walking in you're treated to some very nostalgic pieces, just like walking into Grandma's house, but Grandma in the 80s/90s. Everything was beautifully laid out and organized. The vibe was chill and cozy. The barista was wonderful, helpful, and patient. I immediately went for the tahini coconut latte after having seen clips of a NY cafe offering a similar drink. My fella went for the Mulato latte which was a latte with a blend of mole and a cortado. All three drinks were 100/10. Easily. The cortado was silky smooth and delicious. The tahini was just creamy dreamy; the sprinkle of sesame seeds were a delightful little pop. I wanted to stick my fingers in the mug to get the last bits of tahini, but I restrained myself! The Mulato was fantastic. A bit on the sweet side, but the chocolate and spices were smooth and flavorful. The rest of the menu sounds incredible and I'm definitely coming back for more of the offerings. read more

Olla express café is located right in the front of the shops as your facing away from the back parking lot. I thought it might be only the truck at first (which was closed) but the cafe is large inside and beautiful! They have a big fireplace, plenty of seating, and games you can play. The inside is decorated so cute and it's very warm and inviting you feel like you're sitting inside your own living room, sipping on a cup of coffee. This place has amazing coffee. I first found out about them during the coffee festival in 2019. I walked up and got a cup of the Frida coffee. As I was walking to the cream and sugar station I took a sip. It was perfect the was it was given to me. I didn't add anything extra and I drank it black. After years of not having this coffee I could still remember how good it was. I found out that they had a new location and I checked them out on a Thursday morning. The Frida coffee was still great and it didn't need anything extra. They actually have a brick and mortar store now. It's a very nice place with outdoor seating. They have the only coffee I drink black.They are open on Wednesday and Thursday from 8am until 3pm. They are open on Friday until Sunday from 8am until 4pm. I wanted an iced Americano with a sugar-free syrup to make it a bit sweeter without the calories. On the menu, it said "flavors" and listed "mazapan" as a flavor. I understand mazapan is a cookie, but it was a bit misleading by being listed under "flavors," as I thought it was a syrup and even asked if they could make the syrup sugar-free, which the girl replied yes. We go in the back outside to wait for our coffee. It is a very small backyard patio, nothing really to look at. Only a few chairs and one shade tree. I get my mazapan iced americano, take a sip and realize it had cookie in it. Like when I sip the coffee, cookie crumbles also come up the straw into my mouth. I was really thrown off by this since as I said before, I thought it was just syrup. I took it back and another girl kindly let me order a new drink (iced americano with a little almond milk). Unfortunately, that was not what I wanted either (it tasted very watery and just not good) and I ended up leaving without having any coffee. Another thing I will mention-the first girl that took our order when we first arrived had a very poor attitude. She seemed like she "woke up on the wrong side of the bed" and didn't once smile or seem pleasant. I understand people have hard days. It's just hard to recommend this place when the person taking your order is not very friendly or inviting. I will not be coming back here unfortunately but wish them the best! read more

Who knew this neat little truck was less than three miles from my apartment? Not me, but now that secret is out, I plan to make more stops. Olla Express is parked at a storage facility, and they very cleverly have a storage unit open near the truck where patrons can pull out tables and chairs. I met up with my friend SA Lunchador, and I got to try a latte and their butterfly pea taro horchata fresca. Not only were they photogenic, but they were as delicious as they looked! My hot latte came with a complimentary cookie and that made a perfect duo for an early morning cafecito break. The owner, Andrea, is really sweet and even took my photo! I really loved it here, even though I made an embarrassment of myself by not knowing any Spanish. :( I love how authentic the menu is and even more so, the piloncillo syrup is incredible. The address is 2015 NE Interstate 410 Loop, San Antonio, TX 78217 keep driving through the forest until you see their old food truck, the shop is hidden behind the rock wall. The place is absolutely beautiful outside, tall trees and plenty of greenery to feel like you're not in the city if you can get passed the sound of cars on 410. Their house specialty is Cafe de Olla (coffee that has been brewed with spices in a clay pot). I ordered a Cafe de Olla Valentina which is brewed with cinnamon, clove, ginger, orange, and piloncillo (hardened molasses). Super tasty! Chill place to grab a coffee and breakfast. It's inside of a big, old house. There's plenty of space to hang out. Their drink menu has a lot of variety. We had the fuego latte, golden milk, Mexican biscuit with jam, and zucchini bread. The fuego latte had a nice hint of chili, but nothing to overpower the drink. It's a nice change of pace. Cute place that I found thanks to Yelp. I'm very rarely in this area and was surprised there was restaurants and this cute coffee shop hidden in what looks like woods. I got a piloncillo latte with almond milk. It wasn't overly sweet and had a nice mild taste. I only gave it a 4 star review bc I'm unfamiliar with some of the flavors and the worker wasn't interested in helping me decide. Personally, I understand San Antonio is rich in Mexican culture but for someone who isn't familiar it can be off putting and unwelcoming. Nice place, full of 1980s grandma furniture near the fireplace. The rest of the place is cute actually. The counter service is quick. I got the apple Chai latte on ice and it's a heavy milk drink but tasty. My wife got the golden milk, she liked it too. Great location with a lovely view. I really enjoyed the outdoor space and vibes of what seems to be a hidden community within the city. There are other eateries and shops. Unfortunately, I was not impressed with the coffee. They didn't really have many baked goods either at the time I went. They had three conchas and one croissant. I had the croissant and it was rubbery opposed to flaky. Good thing is, right next door is Comfort Cafe and further down is Naco 210 ( highly recommended on Yelp). So for sure a neat place but the vibe of the staff at the the coffee house was underwhelming and somewhat apathetic, which reflected in their coffee and food. read more
