Decided to stop for the night at the rest stop outside of the badlands. Overnight my battery died and I needed a jump. Long story short Olson Towing was responsive and got to me in a half hour. Scott was a friendly man and I recommend calling them in the future!! read more

Service was requested for pick-up 24 hours before required tow. Olson towing called at 11:am the next day, saying the tow truck would be there in one hour. The arrival time was changed 3 more times after that. At 5:05 PM after we were told it was going to be another 45-90minutes, we canceled the tow, as the garage where it was to be towed would be closed. Each time the arrival time was changed it was a different excuse from the dispatcher. When we finally talked to a driver we found they were routed to other pick-ups. The last one was 150 miles away in the Wyoming. Another towing service was contacted and arrived at his stated time. Olson Towing IS NOT the towing service it used to be several years ago. If I could leave a zero star review I would. The guy who towed my vehicle, after getting hit by a deer, was extremely nice but when I went to retrieve my belongings from my car later on that day I was greeted quite differently. I had called earlier in the day to get information about getting my stuff and no one mentioned to me that I needed a registration to pick up my belongings. I didn't have a registration and I made that known when my vehicle was picked up. I'm stuck here from Michigan on a Friday afternoon and they tell me "too bad you can't get your stuff if you can't reach the DMV" completely rude about it, knowing I couldn't reach the DMV because they were closed. I'm trying to scramble and figure it out and out comes the manager with her chest puffed and a rotten tone and instead of helping me she made matters much worse with her shitty attitude. I finally figured out a solution with my insurance adjuster and got permission to go into my vehicle. I asked nicely if I can have my license plate off the vehicle. They didn't have an Allen wrench set so the guy just pride it off with a screwdriver and threw it down on the ground all bent up and just walked away when he was done. I have never been so disrespected when all I was looking for was help. These people are rotten and crooks. Would not recommend!! read more

Super inconsiderate service. They got clear instructions where I was and they failed to come twice and then when I finally called back and they went to another job and I had to wait another hour because they could follow directions to the location in the parking lot. read more

Olson Towing are crooks! They charged me $600 for a 35 mile tow and refused to take my AAA card or the authorization number. They would not release my car unless I paid them more than three times the normal rate. I have reported them to AAA and they are being revised for removing their AAA contractor status. I am also filing a criminal complaint. The people at the Chevy dealership said that any other tow company would have charged less than $200. Do not use Olson Towing of Sturgis or Rapid City. They will rip you off. read more

We were stuck in SD with a broken down truck and two dogs on Memorial Day weekend. They would not tow us because of our dogs. We found a great place that just let them ride in the truck on the bed. Pretty disappointing. read more

I had a flat on one of the worst days of my life. It was the last thing I wanted to deal with but Derek from Olson Towing did all he could to make the best of the situation. With only minutes before all of the repair shops closed, Derek called around to try and help me locate someone that could fix my flat. He was able to contact some mechanics he knew who could help, but I found a shop just minutes away willing to help if Derek could get my car there within 10 minutes....impossible? Not if Big D is hauling your wheels! Derek loaded my car as quickly as he was safely able to and got my car to the shop pronto. He was professional yet compassionate about my situation. I can't say enough good about this company and their customer service. They not only came and towed our disabled truck and camper, but towed our camper to the campground we had reservations at. And then took the truck to the garage. Dayton called before he came and was very considerate in telling us the time frame for pick up. They helped to lessen a very stressful event . read more

These guys gave me a lot of reasons why my Silverado pickup could not be towed with the snowplow attached. I either had to take it off, or re-situate the pickup so it could be loaded from the tailgate end. I talked to Mike at M&W Towing and discovered a positive attitude "can do" guy who had my truck and plow loaded on his outfit and headed to the repair shop in a matter of one hour. His guy backed up, lowered the ramp, hooked up the chains under the raised plow, hoisted the truck with plow aboard, leveled 'er off, and completed the task whine free. Use M&W! read more

Ordered Service via Online app. Left message to load car rear forward and key in gas cap. Driver did not follow directions and loaded front facing. Driver did not call when picking up. Customer made 2 calls to company for status of pick up. Took an hour to load an bring 11 miles. Driver never spoke to customer about drop off placement. Was asked to reload correctly and drop in front of or in garage since vehicle is not drivable. Instead, drove off driveway pad and dropped in middle of driveway so no other vehicle could pull in or out. Instead of Driver getting out and talking to customer to resolve challenge, he called dispatch. Dispatcher called telling us what could NOT be done instead of working with driver and customer for a solution that would work for everyone elevating angry conversations by all. Driver reloaded the car to place on driveway pad and did not tie down the car so when backing in, the front end of the car slid and slammed into the tow truck bed. Still- no conversation with the driver. Dispatcher very Disrespectful, no problem solving working with the customer. Driver should talk with customer. FYI, should never leave a key in a gas cap when you pick the car up, you hit a bump and it falls out, customer loses ability to start car. Poor service, would not recommend. Terrible company. This is the second time AAA has called and used this company in the past month for my business. Both times,drivers,we're rude and the last time the driver refused to just do his job (ie pick up the car at Steele collision in Custer SD and drop it off at the Hertz approved body shop in Rapid City SD). A storage fee was tacked on by Steele Collusion since the car spent the weekend parked in their lot and Olson Towing added a "handling fee". The result was that what was to be a simple pick up and drop off turned into a nightmare due to Steele Collision and Olson towing adding fees to try to collect from the insurance company. Steele Collision IN Custer tried to charge 8 days of storage for 3 days and Olson Towing tacked on a 40 handling fee. Both terrible and dishonest companies. read more

This place always saves my ass every time I lock myself out of my car. The wait time is the only sucky part, I really think this company is growing and needs to hire more people. Was impressed with how sweet and friendly the drivers and office staff are. Again, please hire more people to help out! Booming business needs more help! I would like to say that I waited for over 2-3 hours for a 40 min wait the first call, than as my cell died I had to walk to my apt but before I walked I had my mother get ahold of my wife to let them know I left key and would be at apt. I got back home and she said that they told her I would have to wait another 45 minutes, bcuz we seen them go by with empty towed so we waited for a call but my son Oculus was in van. We decided to go walk and hope that they went by to apt. We got there and van was still there..I was a little upset bcuz they took my debit card info..so I hope wen I called bcuz left cell, we got home to see that no call so I called them and they tried to make it like one was on the way but decided to withdraw my service and went to Rapid Towing who had a tow truck there as soon as I got there and had a excellent service from the towguy. I recommend Rapid Towing to get ur vehicle towed and the fast service. read more

Hands down the best! We had are truck breakdown while pulling a 38ft horse trailer to the fair rodeo. Me and my husband broke down at 2am in the morning 35 miles south of Rapid City. We called Olson Towing and they sent two guys out right away, we had two guys with smiles there with-in a hour ready to tow both the truck and trailer. Very professional and very nice trucks. They helped us get the trailer to the fair grounds, the driver even helped my husband unload the horses and get them to there stalls at the grounds. We had our RV break down just outside of Wall, SD while traveling cross country this summer. Big "J" from Olson's picked us up and towed us back to Rapid City. He was timely in his response, friendly and comforting to my wife . He was professional, and thorough in his hook up and stopped from time to time to double check connections and towing conditions. He shared stories of the region while we traveled. Finally he dropped us off at a safe location where we could wait for the local dealer to open the following day.
