Our home had obvious hail damage as well as a terrible patch job on the front of our home, however, we saw no action with two other attempts at a claim with our insurance company...enter The Shake Guys. Chad was able to communicate and use his obvious experience in navigating insurance claims to garner us an entirely new roof, copper awnings & flashings, and total gutter replacement. Only The Shake Guys were able to prove that we needed a completely new roof due to the fact that neither our roof shingles or the patch shingles were any longer in production, therefore they were able to prove we had no other route than brand new shingles. Once we teamed with The Shake Guys, they helped guide us through the entire process. You will not be disappointed by any aspect of working with them - the entire team is professional, accommodating, friendly, and most importantly, efficient. Further, Chad and our project manager Drew, were incredibly patient and helpful with our color selections, which is something you will not find everywhere. My investment property in Barrington needed a new cedar roof thanks to Mother Nature. I decided to look for a cedar specialist and found several. Each gave me a totally different take and estimate. What set The Shake Guys apart was their report. THey shared photos with me of the damage. Since I live out of state this was a huge help. They also let me know that a storm a year prior was likely to blame and that an insurance claim should be filed. I agreed to let them help me there but didn't promise them the work yet. Long story short - they secured the dollars, had the most thorough estimate, and even with a tie for the higher price point I knew they were the way to go. I didn't get to see the new roof until 2 months after they installed it but a rep came out and walked the property with me pointing out what were essentially upgrades. I may not have known what he was talking about but it looked and sounded legit. Oh... After seeing my roof replacement, a neighbor had their roof done by The Shake Guys too and it looks amazing. Shake Guys is a great company to do business with! They are prompt and timely with their service when it comes to scheduling. As far as workmanship they just cannot be beat and I would recommend them over any other Cedar Shake roofing company or Shake restoration in the Metro area. We have used several in the past. One of the things that sold me on the Shake Guys that others did not do, is that they would do minor repairs before restoration. They did such a great job and were quick and efficient. Also, the outside of our home is cleaner now than it was before they came! We spoke with three other companies before we met with Chad, so we went into our appointment with him with a good understanding of what other roofing companies have to offer. Once we spoke with him, the decision was easy. Chad is very knowledgeable, answered all of our questions, made himself available throughout the process of replacing our roof and worked directly with our insurance company to make sure they took care of the bulk of the cost. We had The Shake Guys replace our cedar shake roof in September of 2016. These guys are incredible to work with. They completed tearing the roof off and replacing it in three days. Chad Janisch and his team did an outstanding job replacing our shake roof, copper valleys and flashings and gutters. The roof was especially challenging due to steep pitches and intersecting valleys. From the initial consultation, communication with the insurance carrier, quote, installation and follow up the service was great. We called Shake Guys to do some repair only to find out that a hail storm had damaged the roof and our windows. Long story short, Chad T. took care of everything A-Z and did it in an amazing manner including dealing with our insurance adjuster. A claim is a long process and Chad made sure it went smoothly, worked as a general contractor for all the trades needed for our job. We never had to make a second call about getting things done, he was responsive immediately to anything we sent to him. Update: Got a call from Chad the owner - very pleasant discussion. Look forward to meeting him as he reviews our project. He was very proactive and is coming out tomorrow to give me some ideas for my roof. Prior review: Last fall I had a good discussion with one of the representatives who came and gave me an estimate for repairs for my cedar roof. I asked about a full replacement as well, for which I was promised an estimate. Since then I have had an impossible time getting a hold of the rep. Several calls to his cell (on his business card) and through the officehave not been returned. I should have got the hint - but I am surprised by the ratings and that no one else has had this happen. Chad carefully explained all the work that was needed and even provided pictures of the problem areas after he inspected our roof. Chad from The Shake Guys arrived, as scheduled today, to look at our roof. We were experiencing a leak in the ceiling of the dining area of our main floor. He looked both inside our house and on our roof to analyze where he thought we were experiencing the leak. He took various photos to show me where he saw what he thought was the problem. He even went into our attic to trace the leak. He could have exaggerated the nature of the problem but instead he was honest and pragmatic in his recommendation.
