Dr Mike and all the Doctors here are GREAT. Started with a thorough exam and X-Rays. We went through the X-rays and symptoms and made a plan that fit my needs to get back to enjoying life pain free. Everyone in this place are great. Very friendly especially the ladies at reception that always remember your name and always pleasant and smiling. I have a very difficult work schedule and they worked with my schedule to fit my needs without hassle! If it wasn't for that alone I wouldn't have been able to accomplish my goals. This PT and Chiropractic clinic is 5*. The staff is AMAZING! Dr Dave Politz is an outstanding Chiropractor. I love that they use the new micro tool for adjustments. This little tool helps to diagnose your spine and then they use it to do very small micro adjustments. Dr Dave is an excellent listener and always asks great questions to help identify the problem. One day my back was really killing me, he used the micro tool then used stem to help my back. I was shocked how his process helped. I have also used this clinic for PT after surgery. After my auto accident The DPT ( Doctor of Physical Therapy- Dr Brent) worked with me one on one. Each session was an hour, I never felt rushed and Dr Brent is so considerate, and kind... yet calmly guides your healing step by step. Oh Dr Dave P you know you could get in trouble for fraudulent charges. Beware this chiropractor office will charge you and your insurance for services that are not provided. Also know when you get your first evaluation that they call your insurance to see how much they will pay. Then when you get your treatment plan Dr Dave will tell you that he knowns what's best for you and your treatment plan will just happen to be how many visits your insurance will pay. Then they will change you for extra severices that insurance doesn't pay for . Dr Dave will insist that you need an adjustment on you back ( even though I was there for my hip). He wants to charge you out of pocket $60 for 20 seconds that his machine does nothing for you. Dr Dave never even spoke to me about my issues. He never knew my past injuries or the problems that I was having, but he insisted that he is my Dr and he knows what's best for me. He didn't even know I broke my back, I stopped him before he did any more damage to me. Then he will charge you for a physical therapy session even though you didn't see a therapist, you saw a tech assistant that had 3 patients at the same time as you. You will be charged each time they tell you to raise your leg 20 times. Then you will be charged more when they tell you to put your leg out to the side. They call these charges "units" You will be charged about $360 for 40 mins of being there. The term "units is typically only used when prescribing medication. I tried to talk to Dr Dave P about these charges. The initial visit was supposed to be $47 he then charged my insurance almost $400 . When I told him about it he said, "if your insurance doesn't pay that amount, I will charge you. Meaning if I report this to my insurance then he will charge me. He said he doesn't care about the promotion on his web site. Then he charged me for another evaluation. (which didn't even happen, but they have adjusted their paperwork to reflect that it had occurred) This was not on the first bill, but it was on a revised bill. I told him I won't pay it so Dr Dave illegally and without my permission charged my credit card. I am disputing the charge, and I wrote a review with the Comsumer financial protection bureau. I will continue to contact anywhere I can. I will continue to write letters until Dr Dave stops trying to charge me something I do not owe him. Rebecca just wanted to add, most of the people on here that gave a 5 star rating don't even live in the Elmhurst area. Most do not even live in Illinois. The reviews are fake. I went here a couple weeks back due to severe and chronic migraines. They were all friendly and we came up with a plan. Unfortunately, after just two visits, I woke up the next day with severe chest pain. It was so awful I couldn't get up and was worried I was having a heart attack. The ambulance had to come to my apartment to lift me off the couch. After several X-rays and tests, they found out I had severely bruised ribs. Prior to going to this chiro, I had no chest, neck, or back pain. Now, weeks later, I have a lot of pain in all those areas and will have to pay to see a physical therapist to fix a problem that wasn't there to begin with. Now, I am saddled with a large hospital, ambulance, and physical therapist bill. I am very disappointed to say the least. While the clinic told me this was not their doing, all the nurses and doctor stated it was liked caused by them. read more

I had my first consultation last week with Dr. Pollitz after experiencing some bad back pain for a couple of days straight. In a really bad day, when I was barely able to stand up, I was lucky enough to be able to get an appointment for a few hours later. Absolutely everyone on staff is helpful and attentive from the moment you walk in. I felt like I was an old friend visiting for the first time. Dr. Pollitz was thorough with his evaluation and walked me through all my different treatment options. Amanda, my PT, has been nothing but sweet every single time. I even arrived 15 minutes late to one of my appointments, called ahead of time to let them know, and they were nice enough to let me come in anyways (even though I was the only patient left!!). I can't recommend this place for a few reasons but mostly because I view their treatment as ineffective. The only time that I received a real 'adjustment' was during my first visit when the owner cracked my neck. After that, I was treated with a reciprocating tuning fork-type machine that was completely ineffective. Instead of having a chiropractor use their hands, they just lightly press this device on your spine and it adjusts you, allegedly. I had this machine applied to me over a dozen times so it's not for lack of trying. The physical therapy routine that they had me do was appropriate and effective in my opinion but it's not something that you should pay money for. While doing your exercises you're casually observed by an employee who is more interested in talking about their social life with coworkers than monitoring your form or counting your reps. This happened on over half of my visits and was very unprofessional. After doing the exercises a couple of times you can easily perform them at home and do so for free since you're not receiving professional guidance at their office. All of the doctors are very kind and informative and the receptionists are too. Good luck getting their billing department on the phone though. read more

Thank you Dr. Mike Calcagno! We needed a doctor that was going to be patient with our endless questions, requests and urgent situation. We are glad to have a professional chiropractor in Elmhurst that we can trust to alleviate back pain and ultimately rehabilitate Nick! We contacted Olympia Chiropractic on a Wednesday morning and had an appointment for Wednesday afternoon. There were some minor hitches with getting in for an MRI at the orthopedic specialist that Dr. Mike had referred us to for Thursday, so he personally called another MRI facility to pull some strings to make sure we got MRI results asap. By Friday, MRI results were read and treatment started. This is EXCEPTIONAL service especially for a chiropractic office that is so busy! Clean office with adjustment, traction, massage therapy and lots of physical therapy equipment! Seems like lots of high school and college athletes are treated here. I went to Dr. Chris for about 2 months for knee and IT band issues I was having from overuse/running. He is so great to work with and very knowledgeable about new techniques, specifically graston which is what my focus was there. The rest of the team at Olympia are equally as amazing, all very friendly and knowledgeable and their mail goal is your health. Unfortunately my insurance changed and I am having to go elsewhere for now, but I'd recommend these guys in a heartbeat for anyone looking for a great physical therapy place. I love chiropractic but there are different approaches. I do not like the atmosphere here which I would describe as a place where athletes may feel the most comfortable. So, if you are used to the gym atmosphere, this place offers that sort of approach. However, if you are interested in a relaxing spa trump chiropractor and massage, this is not the right place. In addition, I was not happy with the chirp treatment nor the masseur. I have had better experiences. I didnt know what to expect walking into this place at first. Thought it was just an injury rehabilitation facility at first but turned out to be exactly what I needed. We chose this place because it's in-network for our insurance and because it offered the combination of chiropractic treatment and physical therapy. My son (young adult still on our insurance) has had a health issue we have been trying to figure out for over 3 years (on and off). After all that time I had absolutely no expectations, and was pleasantly surprised. Dr. Dave Pollitz was wonderful. He was enthusiastic about the challenge. He listened carefully, he asked questions, he took x-rays. He explained things clearly, he had a very positive approach, and at the same time he didn't over promise anything. The office worked with our insurance and was always helpful with scheduling and providing billing records. The atmosphere of the place was welcoming, relaxed, and vibrant. There was easy parking in the back. During the time we were there they were doing a food drive for Thanksgiving. They seem to have a strong connection with the community. I can understand why the place always seemed full of patients, they are doing things right. In the end although my son decided not to continue the treatment, I'm glad he went there as we learned new information about his spine that no other doctor had found, and Dr. Dave gave my son a recommendation for the next step. Physical Therapy was the favorite part of my recovery after free-fallin' about 13 feet from a big rock at the citadel in the garden of the gods. I've heard that having hardware in your body can make you a better weather monitor and I've had a feeling that there might be a screw loose with me for a while but it wasn't until this accident caused the insertion of a couple screws in my foot that I realized how painful (and expensive! at about $3300 per screw) walking around like this could be. This location is truly among the crème de la crème, with people coming in with every thing from horse-riding injuries to the most minor sprain from all over the Chicagoland area. Running into my high school Sociology teacher, Charlie Kern (of ckrunning.com fame) who comes in regularly proved this to me. It doesn't hurt that two of the employees here are former top 7 athletes from the famed York Cross Country team who, as it turns out, went to middle school with me. Everyone at the facility (except for a nice guy who always said what's up like we've been best buds for ages) is courteous, kind, and professional. Janie was my favorite receptionist but Lorie and the entire front desk staff are quite generous with their time and energy by making sure to call and send messages about our appointments in case we forget... what's most surprising to me is how the gladiator's father himself, Dr. Mike uniquely knows each of his patients. I hope he never forgets my favorite color has always been cerulean. It was especially neat that my last appointment here involved me getting to sit next to his father, the original Mr. Calcagno of the western suburbs. To take a page from Tom Petty, my PT, Dr. Mary Clare Reardon, is a good girl - crazy 'bout Taylor (swift), loves volleyball, and Elmhurst too. I'm starting to become a big believer in fate. How else could I explain how my PT also happened to be in 1st grade with me!? Even before knowing about our special connection, she was great at patiently building rapport, surprising me with her special foot massages, and making me feel as special as her classmate who is now in the NBA. I was a bit late for a couple of my appointments but in each one MC never failed to show me how happy she was to see me and taught me different techniques to get my foot back in shape. Dr. Kaitlin Schneden was a replacement par excellence and it's no surprise that they are such good neighbors rockin' the suburbs daily at work. Amanda, the athletic trainer, was also a nice treat to be able to work with on Halloween. Until my appointment with her, I had taken a bit more of a laissez-faire approach when it came to my recovery but hearing her story about how ignoring her foot injury for years culminated in one of the most painful procedures in her life suddenly made everything a bit more real to me. Ice and stim is also a nice way to top off every physical therapy session and test how much electricity our bodies can handle. As an MMA fighter, wrestler, and martial artists for most of my life, I have acquired a ton of injuries through out the years. I have been to chiropractors across the country and I got to say that these are very good at what they do. I like the fact they prefer to use their pro adjuster tool, which at first made me skeptical, because it is nothing like a manual adjustment. It doesn't feel like a manual adjustment at all. A manual adjustment is something that you really feel. However, feeling different when you walk out,but hurting again, or worse than before 20 minutes later really sucks, which has always been my experience. Their pro adjuster machine doesn't make you feel a ton different like a normal adjustment, but it definitely doesn't put things out of whack like a manual adjustment can do. The machine doesn't mess you up like a manual adjustment can. Also, the pro adjustment machine adjust everything by using a computer and scan of your back. It a computer that does exactly what you need done. I will never let a chiropractor do a manual adjustment once again, because I have had chiropractors do more harm than good that way. They may talk a little bit, when they are walking you through the exercises, but you should not need help counting to ten, or twenty. Also, no one does the exercises at home like they should. The idea of them walking you through the therapy is not to give you 100% percent of their attention the whole time. They are just trying to get you to do the exercise before you leave, because the fact is that most people don't do it at home. They took me in and gave me a lot of help and fixed a or of my injuries despite not having much money, or insurance. Dr. Eric, Dr. Mike, Dr. chris and their help are all amazing and really care about their patients. Dr. Mike was the first person that cared enough about my well being to talk me out fighting anymore. In May, Dr Dave was awesome at diagnosing and treating sciatica all down my right side and into my foot. With PT and regular adjustments, etc. he was able to eliminate all the right side pain. Unfortunately I recently started having pain on my right ride and in my hip. MRI shows 2 bulging disc. Dr Dave scheduled a PT eval immediately followed by an action plan to relieve my pain and get me back moving again. I know it's a few month process but great with PT help on the floor from Mike, targeted massage from Bob, stimulation and traction, I am looking forward to happy holidays and the years to come! By the time I tried this place, I had tried steroids, muscle relaxants, pain meds and some physical therapy elsewhere.
