BEAUTIFUL SELECTION BUT UNPROFESSIONAL FABRICATION AND OVERSIGHT The Selection & Initial Sales Experience: This shop easily has the best selection of remnants and slabs in the immediate area. I found a beautiful marble remnant that I loved. Initially, the salesperson was very helpful and proactive, even taking the time to mark the specific cuts with blue tape to ensure we were on the same page. The Process & Delays: Unfortunately, the experience broke down during the fabrication phase. I was given a specific day for pickup, but the pieces weren't ready when I arrived. This went on for several days. Quality Control & Fabrication Issues: When the pieces were finally "finished," I'm glad I inspected them. The work was unprofessional: * The "eased edge" was very uneven. * The corners were chipped and not cut straight, and the bottom edges remained rough and uneven. At this point, the salesperson was no longer helpful or even involved. I ended up in the back of the shop personally dealing with the fabricator, trying to see if the errors could be fixed. As they worked on the stone, the quality didn't improve. It felt like I was being asked to supervise the work, which shouldn't be the customer's job. There was no internal quality control or professional assessment of the pieces before they were handed to me. The Conclusion: The shop eventually admitted they couldn't meet the required professional standard and issued a full refund, claiming the stone was too difficult to cut (despite it being a marble remnant from their own yard). However, given the uneven edges and lack of oversight, it felt more like a lack of technical execution and professional management. It's a shame because the material is excellent, but the fabrication process was a major disappointment - and now I have to drive to places much further away to look for a suitable stone for my still unfinished project. This area really needs a store with a great selection and expert fabricators. read more

Olympia marble is a great family owned business. Very knowledgeable and helpful. I've read some of these reviews and I have to say I did not experience any problems. I went in for a bathroom redo, counters and tile a few thresholds and it all came out beautifully! No hassle's. Yes they wanted a deposit but that's normal in any business. Don't use these folks. Whatever they had going for them years ago, is gone. They had us pay 100% up front. They lost our measurements, but didn't realize it until I called to find out when we'd get an install call. They have scheduled and rescheduled so many times I've lost count. They came yesterday and a piece was chipped, so they took everything back to the shop and were supposed to return today, but instead, at 2:30pm, someone comes out to tell me that if they install it, there's going be a big ugly caulk line around the bottom. Maybe the guy who measured could have told us that? The salesperson said it would be no problem. read more

Do NOT go there! We wanted to get new kitchen counters. Very easy to get someone from Olympia out to measure our kitchen. They were very timely in installing it, HOWEVER: one end was too short and now looks awkward. The other end was too long so they decided to saw into our wood panels - WITHOUT ASKING ME- to make it fit. We also ordered a 33 inch sink and they installed a 28 inch one. I measured it and when i discovered the mistake I felt bad but called effi and told her that they installed a too small sink. Her answer?!? Oh im sorry i didn't pay attention to what size sink i ordered. Really?!?! What are you paying attention to? We asked them to correct their mistake however havent heard from them ever since. !!!Do not go to Olympia and definitely do not work with effi!!! read more

This place used to be good. The person we worked with there recently however, was rude, inappropriate, and incredibly condescending for no reason. I don't need to have ppl treat me like that, or to create problems in design projects. I won't send business to your company ever again! Evan and his family at Olympia Marble & Granite are absolutely the best!! I would give ten stars if I could. From our first visit, Evan gave suggestions and guided us to what was best for our new kitchen, not what was the most expensive. He even arranged for us to see the slabs at his distributor's warehouse prior to delivery. The installation was top notch and even came in under budget with an extra area installed in our bar area. This is a family business and they really strive hard to get everything right. What other business sends the owner to your house to do the templating? Olympia Marble does and I couldn't be more pleased. My next project is a bathroom and I know exactly who I will call for the vanity and tile work!!! read more

We got an Olympia Marble referral from a bathroom place. Surprisingly when you spend money for a custom cabinet - most times you do not get the top. We visited Olympia Marble probably a month out from when we were to receive the actual cabinet. We received a price and we liked the product. Our salesman was knowledgable - we walked through the shop and got to see people actually making different tops. It was a fun time. Fast forward to a little over a month later. We called to have the cabinet measured. Then I called to order the product. The only glitch we had was a price differential. It had gone up markedly. I told the person what we had been quoted and she honored the price. Good people. Olympia showed up on time - did a beautiful job with the installation - the product is lovely. My wife and I struggled with several problems in our remodel of our downstairs but getting our stone counters installed was NOT a part of them ! Everything from price, to creating the cutting template to the installation was top notch. In fact, they installed our counters earlier than originally quoted. Just finished working with them on the granite countertops for my kitchen. They were wonderful to work with. All of the staff was helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. They were right on schedule with the installation and the young men who did the installation were terrific. They worked quickly but carefully and were very professional. Working with Olympia Marble and their installation team was by far the easiest part of remodeling my kitchen and bathroom when I had the first floor of my house redone this past winter. Effie and Stephanie were so helpful and efficient, especially when it came to pointers on decorating. After being assured that the tile we ordered was in stock (first question we asked) and would be delivered on time our order was not fulfilled on the date promised. It was not fulfilled on the "new" date which was scheduled after the first failure to deliver. Phone calls were not returned. Salesperson who is supposedly "taking care of us - ha!" is always "with another customer", or "not available", or "on a job site" or there is another excuse for him not being available. We had to call many times, leave multiple messages and jump through all kinds of hoops just to find out that there is another delay with the delivery. The only thing that was done promptly was charging our credit card. I think that the store owner needs to review his staff and make urgent changes. The team he has now is lazy and unprofessional. read more

Pretty much the same experience as in the other reviews. In the store, they were knowledgable and helpful. Their prices are good. But the followup customer service is terrible to nonexistent. They say they'll call you right back, and don't. They say they'll order the sample and forget. The wrong kind of tile comes in, and they don't notice. Our whole renovation was a frustrating process of continuously hounding Olympia to follow through on what they promised. I think it's a family run operation, so there's no accountability to management for poor customer service. If you have the time and patience to deal with all of this, then the end product is good. But in the end I don't think it was worth the hassle for us. read more

I'm echoing another review here. We placed an order with Nicole. When I called a few weeks later to check in, I was told that she was no longer there and the women that answered the phone (Stephanie) would look into the order. She said she could not find the order, so I gave her the measurements again. Then Effie called me because there was some confusion, so I gave her the measurements and explained the order again. DO NOT WORK WITH EFFIE. She did not follow through on a single thing she told me. She said that the she had the measurements and she would call me back. She never called me back. Had to be chased horribly. Every time, her excuse was "I was busy." Didn't seem to care that she wasn't following through on her word. Then a man got on the phone who was so rude and had such an attitude. He said that I "supposedly" called in my order and both he and Effie were insisting I ordered a threshold. I did not. I ordered and paid for a shower bench and a vanity top. I explained to him that I had originally dealt with Nicole, but was told she was no longer with the company. He said that wasn't true. I am not sure what the truth is, but I know that Effie was dishonest and that whomever she put on the phone his tone and manner were inexcusable. Needles to say, they never fabricated our material and I requested a refund. read more

We went there last year looking for stone for our large renovation. The lady who served us assumed that we weren't worth her time. The lady was extremely rude and caustic. She served us with hostility and a smile. We left and I commented on how unhelpful she was being. She laughed and walked away. I have not been treated so badly before. It was very off putting. I never actually call to complain but this time I decided it was worth the effort. When I called to complain she kept on picking up the phone and wouldn't pass it to her manager. Their installers are great -- responsive, helpful, and know what they're doing. However, their salespeople are another story. DO NOT WORK WITH EFFIE. She did not follow through on a single thing she told me. Said it would take 1-2 weeks from measure to install; it took more than 3. Scheduled installation, and didn't show, because she scheduled it wrong in the system. Said she'd phone back with a new intsall date -- didn't. Had to be chased horribly. I knew by the way she acted she must be related to the owner of the company. This young lady new she could be rude and abrasive without any repercussion! If I could give them 1/2 star, I would. They provided us with the worst customer experience we've had for a service or good. The lady who works there is nice enough, but she is not at all responsive. It took us more than a month to be sent a backsplash sample that we'd requested (even though she said it would be sent asap) - were given multiple excuses for why it took so long. But there are two more disturbing incidents: 1) we were very specific in ordering carrera marble with "very little movement" (ie: minimal gray coloring within) - said it at least three times while at the showroom. What showed up at our home for installation was far more gray than white - not at all what we asked for - yet she continuously said it was our fault, that that's what we ordered. It would take months to get the correct stuff, so we kept it (I was 9 months pregnant at the time, couldn't drag it on forever). Secondly, the scheduling of installation was a total pain. She told us they'd be there on a Tuesday; they never showed. "Oh, it will be Thursday"; they never showed. Two weeks later the guys came to our house. They did a good job, for the most part - were very nice people...but there is one section of the shower where the tile was so crooked that everyone who walks into our bathroom notices how bad it is before they say anything else. We have called the lady at least 5 times for them to come back and fix it, and she promised she'd call them to come back...that was just about 4 months ago now, so it's clearly not happening. We sent her an email explaining how disappointed we were; no response. The only time she was prompt in getting back to us was to collect our $$, which she conveniently proactively called us about...and we regretfully paid in full for an unsatisfactory experience. Also, the lady who answers the phone there is oddly obnoxious and condescending - totally unprofessional. Bottom line: I'm sure there are plenty of other really great marble/granite suppliers out there who will work hard for your business. I suggust you find one of them because Olympia Marble & Granite is no good. read more

I worked on a job where Olympia had done tons of stone work 3 years previously and was impressed with their work. I called them and left a message since I wanted a small matching shelf made in the same house. They never returned my call so I went in to their shop. They were friendly enough and said the stone would be ready in a week. I changed the order to a different stone so they said it would take a few more days which I was fine with. They then said it would be done on a Wednesday so I went in on Thursday to pick it up. They said it wasn't done but would call me back within an hour to tell me why. They never called back. I called back Friday and spoke with Effie who said she was in a car accident and that I should call back next week. I called back next week and she said she still didn't know what was going on with my piece so I told her to cancel the order. I realize her car accident may have slowed her down but Effie was not doing the actual work and there were plenty of other employees there to make sure this was done. So if you can get through the bad customer service, hopefully you'll get a good product but I'll never know nor will I recommend them to anyone. read more

Home renovations always have delays, issues, added expenses, and are as frustrating as they are rewarding but Olympia Marble has hands down been my saving grace for all three bathrooms that I renovated. Every time I have needed more tile, thin set, grout, or even trim, Olympia Marble has come through immediately. In fact I started working with another tile shop and after they botched my first order I immediately gave Stephanie the reins. She was amazing. Every step of the project she was a phone call away and literally saved me on a few different occasions. Including finding tiles that matched a previous order from a different tile shop and special ordering multiple different types to complete my bathroom on time. She has an awesome eye for detail and being a family run business the store has a welcoming feel to it every time you walk in.
