I have never purchased countertops before, having spent the last 22 years with my pink formica. I had been to several showrooms looking for soapstone. When I came to the this showroom, Tim very patiently had several different slabs brought out for me to take a look at. In the end, I liked a granite slab instead. Stopped in today to look at large quartz slabs. I was greeted by Kerri who brought me in to the larger warehouse area and asked what look I was interested in. She brought me over to a slab and I liked it right away. She encouraged me to take my time and look around. About 10 minutes later she came back out to ask if I had any questions. She patiently explained the pros/cons of quartzite and offered to send me home with samples. After looking at my samples my favorite is the one she picked out! Matt Pataky at Marble and Granite in Milford was exceptional on his service and knowledge of the available options. Customer Service - Outstanding. When the global pandemic significantly delayed the quartz we initially ordered, Jim @ the Albany site went above and beyond to help us find a replacement. He was incredibly knowledgeable, and did a great job of helping me convince my husband that granite really *was* the right choice for our project. They also did a great job of proactively communicating with us and returning messages promptly. Inventory - so many beautiful options. Great experience! Huge, and beautiful, inventory.... I am finishing up with renovations to the first floor of our house, focused mostly on a complete tear down and reconstruction of the kitchen. There were a million decisions to make, and one of the easiest pieces of the process was going to Marble and Granite to pick out the stone for our counter tops. I'm really happy with the stone I selected and the service I got when I visited Marble and Granite in Westwood. The staff person who helped me was very knowledgeable, always cheerful, and never pressured me. They didn't mind when I came at lunchtime or in late afternoon, 30 minutes before closing. (I did return a couple of times to make sure that I really liked the choice I made, and to look at the stone along with a tile sample and the color of the wood stain being used on the cabinets.) They explained what products I'd want to use in re-sealing my stone in the future, and discussed fabricators with me. My granite (and my experience in buying it) is one of the best things about my new kitchen! The selection of stones there is truly enormous and they are well displayed so it's easy to walk around and see them all. I highly recommend Marble and Granite. read more

Great to work with. We had a bad experience with our granite fabricator and Marble & Granite saved the day. To give some background, we had picked out granite slabs months before construction on our kitchen designing everything around them. When they want to measure things out on the new cabinets the fabricator realized they didn't have them. Apparently they never purchased them after we had paid the fabricator to do so. To make matters worse the granite we picked out was sold out on the east coast and my wife was 8 months pregnant so we needed the kitchen done. We went back into Marble and Granite and they worked with us for hours to try and help us find something that would work with the kitchen. They got the granite right into the truck and over to the fabricator that day. Needless to say the kitchen was done before the baby came and looks great thanks to the Marble& Granite team. read more

I walked into the showroom and explained to the salesperson that I was replacing granite counter tops and wanted granite because of its durability. I had marble in my bathroom and it etched like crazy so anything that etched was not what I wanted. I clearly asked that he show me where the granite was because that's what I wanted. I found a stone a liked and looked it up on their website where it was listed in the granite section. The name was Corteccia Quartzite. I didn't know that Quartzite was not granite. Even after multiple discussions about wanting granite, no one mentioned that Quartzite was a different stone and it etches just like marble. I guess they were anxious to make the sale since the product is very expensive. The counter tops were installed 6 months ago. Since then my husband and I have only been at our home about 3 of the 6 months and the counter tops are not only etched but have started to chip in several places. Treating them to prevent further etching would be $5,000 and simply fixing the current chipping, which is likely to continue will be $500. If you are not an expert, I strongly recommend looking someplace else. The salespeople are very busy and not willing to try to share information that a normal consumer might not know. read more
