My husband is so fortunate to have Dr. HAROON YOUSAF as his cardiologist. Last year he was…read morescheduled for an ablation yet felt uncomfortable with the recommendations and lack of communication from the original team of cardiac providers. We were quickly seen and evaluated by Dr. Yousaf who recommended a second consultation with a cardiac electrophysiologist and discontinuing a medication that was causing side effects and not necessarily helping. He approached the situation with a thorough yet keep things simple approach. He was as well willing to try an alternative approach- magnesium, A year later my husband's rhythm has returned to normal- my husband's pulse demonstrated constant bigeminy. No ablation was required. Today we met with Dr. Yousaf and he reviewed my husband's case and determined some follow up studies were required - very appropriate - to ensure that the rhythm indeed has returned to normal. Care thorough, listens, quality of care outstanding and his office staff are very professional and personable. We as a community need to support clinicians of this caliber that are invested in their community and are willing to work outside of large practices. Can not say enough good things. Labor and delivery specifically: I had a great induction and delivery. All the nurses I interacted…read morewith were so nurturing, supportive and let me choose my care and really reassured me I'd be ok the whole time. Specifically shouting out a few nurses that really made a difference for me were Jillian, Bre, Lakita, Katie and Caitlyn (if the names were wrong or spelled wrong I'm sorry, I was a little loopy a lot of the time). Honestly my whole care team was amazing. I'm coming back to this labor and delivery for my next baby because I know I'm going to get the best care.

Severe communication breakdown and lack of empathy for a critical care family…read more Our family's experience with Providence St. Peter Hospital has been deeply distressing during an already terrifying time. My 83-year-old grandmother was recently T-boned in a severe car accident, suffering eight broken bones, and was only just moved out of critical care. She managed to call me from her room, but the phone was disconnected. When I immediately called back to reconnect with her, I faced an absolute wall of bureaucratic incompetence and zero empathy. First, the staff claimed they had no idea who I was talking about. Once they finally recognized her name, they flatly refused to transfer me to her room or provide any explanation as to why. To prevent a family member from speaking to an elderly, severely injured patient who just initiated contact is completely unacceptable. The extreme lack of coordination between units and the rigid, unhelpful attitude of the staff turned a medical crisis into an agonizing, aggravating ordeal. St. Peter's leadership seriously needs to address how their staff handles communication with worried families. Frontline staff need training on basic empathy and how to properly locate transferred patients instead of just shutting families out.

I fractured my upper arm nearly 2 years ago and was transported by ambulance simply because my…read morehusband wasn't able to get me off the ground to be transported. He went in to speak with the ER and gave them insurance information. Since we were insured by 3 companies at the time he told them which one was primary, followed by the secondary and the third and that they had to be billed accordingly. Well over a year later I start receiving bills. We called and they said that that's normal and everything was pending, not to worry. I'm still getting these bills a year later so I called my insurance companies and they said that St. Anthony DID NOT bill in the correct order. So I called billing at St. Anthony and I re-informed them which company to bill 1st. Called today to check the status of that bill and it's, of course, pending. Speaks volumes about them and their ER intake and billing department. Do better...

The ones from today...how do I put it...um they leave something to be desired...with the exception of the nurse that takes your initial BP. He was awesome. Clone Dr Young please. Otherwise BIPOC definitely will not want to come here and feel the MAGA vibe.
