I had an enjoyable lunch while sitting outside with my friend. We both ordered salads, mine with Gyro, and hers with grilled chicken. We were given some tzatziki, which was excellent. The bread, warm from the oven, came with an olive oil and balsamic dipping sauce. The Gyro meat was thinly sliced and so flavorful! Our waitress was friendly and not intrusive. Decent prices for what we ordered. Their menu is a mix of Greek and Italian dishes. Looking forward to going back to try some other items on the menu. read more

Had a great experience at Olympia today. Our meal was so fresh and filling. I had the salmon with greek salad. It has a lot of flavor and the portion was perfect. One of our local faves. The lemon chicken soup is AMAZING. The service is always attentive and kind. Last trip I got the Country Salad (basic Greek Salad, Feta, Olives, etc) with Blackened Chicken, the Mrs got Chicken Pita (with that amazing soup). I've lived in wilmington for 9 years and had never tried this place until yesterday. And there was good reason why. It was an unappetizing overpriced dinner. The Food: Some of the lowest quality I've gotten from a restaurant at dinner in a long time. I ordered the Greek salad. It was only Ice burg lettuce, generic Italian/greek dressing, couple olives, huge tomato, red onion for $10. The flounder Athenian with fresh vegetables and rice pilaf: Awful tasting sides. No flavor in any of it and the pilaf plain and tasted old and veggies were completely bland and steamed out of a bag with no oil or salt even. $19 Shrimp Santorini: They were out of angel hair pasta so I got Linguini. Again the dish had no flavor. Could barely taste the garlic wine sauce and the ingredients again tasted caned and not fresh. $19 We both ate about 25% of our meal before giving up on it and being really disappointed we didn't say anything. But we could tell it was the bad food quality and recipes that we didn't like and most likely couldn't be fixed. The price: Overpriced for the cheap quality food. $55 for dinner then 20% tip left on top of course cause it wasn't the waitress fault the dinner was awful. The service: our server was lovely and the only reason we didn't complain or ask for our money back. The cleanliness: rather disgusting. The tile floors were filthy covered in cracked on black flood stains and dirty walls. It looked like the restaurant had never properly been moped or floors scrubs. Was excited to try Olympia after hearing some good things! Inside we found a cheerful server and a unique bar. We decided to order the Zeus platter to split, but asked if things could be grilled rather than fried. We said if not, no big deal - we can get something else. We were assured this was "no problem." Everything came out deep fried and dripping in grease! We had heard our server call out the instructions to the kitchen, so we didn't call her out on the issue. However, then her service went down hill. I sat with an empty water glass while being the only table in the house for example and it took us forever to get the check. Had diner last night at Olympia with ours friends. The food was great. Really enjoyed the saganoki appetizer. The portions were generous and the quality excellent. The only thing better than the food was the service. Our server Jainie always had a smile and was very helpful with explanations of the dishes. She divided out 2 deserts into 4 portions so it was easier to share. Looking forward to a return trip and will request Jainie as our server. read more

Typically, my reviews of a restaurant are bourne of some craving for a particular food. To save you the mystery, yes I was craving good Greek food and needed a fix. I have driven past the Olympia many times so today my craving had me pull the pin and drop in. The menu was pretty complete, I was craving Soulvaki but it was not found on the menu :( Instead I took the plunge for the Zeus Platter (appetizer) and Chicken Pita. Zeus ROCKED! Hummus (yummo), skordalia (basically cold garlic mashed potatoes weird but good), shrimp (yummo x2), scallops (yummo x3), spanikopita (outstanding) and stuffed grape leaves (OMG!!!). The chicken pita was great too and the tzatzki was great! My partner had the Sliced Lamb Pita and I snagged a taste, incredible! He guarded the rest like a junk yard dog and when I whined for another piece sneaking across the table to snag one, I almost got a fork in the back of my hand! I will order that the next time for sure and have my fork poised for anyone who dares to snag the lamby goodness of this pita. The waitstaff was friendly, kept the drinks full and checked in frequently without being obnoxious. Good waitstaff in Wilmington is a rarity and one of my peeves. All around the Olympia is a great find and the food is worthy of any Greek craving...Opa! read more
