    Deep fried beef rolls (Börek)
    Monica P.

Fourteen of us had dinner recently before going to the theater. We had 5pm reservations. My husband and I ordered one of the appetizer specials, deep fried beef rolls (Börek). They were excellent! I had the shrimp and beef kebabs that came with white rice and a house salad (sort of like a slaw). I ordered the beef medium-rare, but should have ordered rare. The meat was still pretty tender. I liked the salad. My husband ordered the vegetable delight, which was an eggplant dish served with pita bread. Everything was very good and we had great service.

    Vegetarian Combo

I was looking for a restaurant to have lunch. I found this spot on yelp. The waiter was part of the family that owned it and was very friendly. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. I ordered the vegetarian combo. The inside is small, but very cozy and comfortable.

I've fluctuated between a three and a four, but since we'd go back to eat here, I went with a four. The food was good, and we love that they had four Turkish wines to choose from. We ordered the Angora and it was so smooth and velvety. The hummus was extremely good and the pita amazing. I ordered the chicken kabobs with Jasmine rice and veggies. The rice was delicious, the veggies was Cole slaw but warm; it was good and a pretty large serving. The chicken was too dry but thankfully came with a great sauce. My husband ordered the surf and turf which was lamb chops and mahi mahi. The mahi was fantastic, but the lamb was cooked medium-well rather than medium. The server, John, was nice enough but a bit abrupt and I had to keep asking for my water glass to be refilled, which I find annoying. It was $72 for a bottle of wine, two apps, and two entrees which isn't too bad.

This is one hard restaurant to eat at! Current takeout only, only on Friday and Saturday. They're also about to shut down for a month or so for summer break, so when we realized we didn't have Friday dinner plans and didn't want to go out, we realized we could finally give them a try. I ordered the grape leaves and the chargrilled mahi with rice and a side salad. My husband got the Turkish Patties, rice, and side salad. I do not know what magical seasoning they put in that salad dressing, but my mouth is literally watering thinking about it. I could drink that dressing. The grape leaves were pretty good - there was a spice in them that I couldn't place and don't think is typically in other grape leaves I've had. I could do without this mystery spice. Rice was good (maybe slightly over cooked). The mahi had good flavor, but I think i should've ordered a sauce or something to go with it. It was kind of strange on its own. My husband was a little let down by the patties - nothing super special about them I guess. I will definitely be back for that side salad (who am I) and am excited to try some of the other dishes on the menu.

Flew in from Miami, seemed like a good spot for lunch, was not disappointed at all. Food was spot on, flavors were super delicious. I had chicken kebab with house salad, the dressing amazing, hubby had falafel I believe that was fried hummus inside. I almost ate his lunch and mine lol. Definitely recommend.

    The Turkish coffee is yummy!

It was good years back. It's not now. I have learned to make my own delicious Turkish food. There is a book Zaytinya by José Andrés.

The falafle was very dry and hard. Eggplant dish was bland. My friend liked his fish. I do not plan on returning.

We started walking around and my wonderful wife suggested Copper Penny. Absolutely! There was a short wait for a table, but we didn't mind. The inside is almost like we remember it. We did notice the menu is a lot smaller. The last time we dined here was around ten years ago. Definitely plenty of options. We went with the onion ring appetizer, Cobb salad, and the BBQ Burger. The atmosphere of Copper Penny is the same. Definitely missed this place. After a short wait our food was brought out. Everything was delicious. This is just an update, but we still love Copper Penny and will continue to return.

Very good and the fries as well. 3. Hot Roasted Pork Sandwich was very bland and had an excessive amount of spinach. Even the Au Jus couldn't rescue this sandwich. 4. The famous onion rings. Well they must of ran out of seasoning because these were more flour than flavor. Very doughy with no spices. Not worth the $9 * The alcohol mix drinks are pretty good. Definitely taste the flavor of each. Will give you a good kick.

Lives up to its review **…read more we were originally on our way to a place Perla for oysters, our friend suggested it. I was looking at near by restaurants and decided to try seabird instead - as we wanted to come to the boardwalk anyways. I am so glad we changed our route to seabird. Venue: quite quaint than I thought but it is elegantly and uniquely presented. Food: ordered tuna crudo, short rib burger, eggs Benedict and of course the oysters. We loved every plate ordered. First oyster, super fresh, clean and exactly the type of oysters we are looking for. The condiments were made fresh and complimented the oysters very well. Burger was good- tender meat and seasoned well; this plate was ordered for my teen son- he said it was good but not worth $25 for a burger. Sturgeon eggs Benedict was cooked to perfection - perhaps one salt sprinkle away from absolute perfection but that's why the table salt is for. The shaved dill pickle it came with complimented The richness of the Benedict. The star of the show today for us the tuna crudo - oh my! What a complex taste - sweet, salty, savory, tangy, creamy and fresh- the savory tuna meets the sweet watermelon, fresh cucumber- spicy pepper with amazing watermelon cream dressing. I wanted to lick the whole sauce off the plate. Also ordered strawberry brownie icecream and I was in love! Creamy- not too rich or sweet - refreshing and perfect all in all, we all loved every bite. Service: exceptional service from entering the door to exiting. Our server was amazing. We are definitely coming back and recommending it to the friend who recommended us Perla

We had brunch at Seabird and, despite one memorable hiccup, it was another very good experience…read more My wife and I split the Spicy NC Shrimp Chilaquiles, and once everything arrived as intended, the dish was excellent. The funny part? The kitchen initially sent out the shrimp dish... without the shrimp. We had to ask for them to bring the missing shrimp, which they quickly corrected. I couldn't help but imagine Chef Gordon Ramsay standing in the kitchen shouting, "You served the shrimp dish without any shrimp, you muppet!" That alone was worth a chuckle. We sat at the bar, where service is usually outstanding. This time the bartender was clearly overwhelmed and stretched thin, so things moved a little slower than normal. Even so, everyone remained professional and friendly. Chef Dean Neff has set a very high standard here, and it's easy to understand why Seabird has received so much recognition and James Beard attention over the years. The food quality, creativity, and consistency continue to make it one of our favorite spots in Wilmington. A missing shrimp on a shrimp dish and slower-than-usual bar service keep this from being a perfect score, but neither issue was enough to spoil the meal.
