Hidden gem, highly recommend. Wonderful food in a small restaurant tucked behind a convenience store.

Checked out this new restaurant that's adjoined to the back of UpTown market. You can enter either from outside or from inside UpTown. There is no restaurant sign so just head to the back of the market. There are two small tables inside and currently two outdoor bench tables outside. The outdoor seating area is still being worked on with the plan of adding more seating. Everything is homemade fresh daily, except the bread, cake slices and tiramisu. Baklava ran out since they had an event for BMW. There are plans for a clay oven to be installed for bread to be made on site. You can see the chicken and lamb on the spits when you walk in. I ordered the beef/lamb gyro and added fries for an upcharge of $2.08. The owner and chef were nice to let me sample their falafel. All of the food was great, you can tell the food is homemade. Looks like they forgot the tzatziki sauce on the gyro, but still tasted great with the cucumbers salad and pickled red onions. The falafel was very crispy and the seasoned fries had a delicious, thick, white garlic sauce. Definitely worthy to check out! read more

We had a great meal here at Queen's. It's a very simple no-frills kind of place but the food was fresh, hot and delicious! It is behind a convenience mart and has a small dining area, but a very large outdoor deck that is covered. Service was friendly and we got two platters and fries - it was plenty of food. read more

Yum! A welcome addition to Wilmington! These folks are making, in my humble opinion, the best falafel in the city. The staff is amazingly friendly, the store is clean and the food is delicious. Their hummus is fluffy and flavorful, and I love all the different salads and pickles you can get on the side. They make really good fries and their garlic sauce (I think toum) is SO legit. Definitely recommend if you're looking for some falafel or shawarma in the area. read more

I visited twice this week. Sooo good! The first visit I had the chicken shawarma pita. It was delicious and flavorful. I talked to Rhonda (who prepared the food and cooked) and her husband. Both were very nice. The other folks working there were friendly and asked how I liked my meal. Today I had the beef shawarma pita. It's made with rib eye and it was excellent! The flavors of the beef, tahini sauce, pickles, etc., all melded together nicely. My friend had the chicken shawarma pita, which she loved. Everything is fresh made. The prices are reasonable for the what you get. I would say a side should be included in the price you pay; however the portions for me were perfect. I was stuffed! The restaurant is tucked behind Uptown market. There's three small tables inside, but they have seating outside on the patio. It's a casual place and very clean. Their restaurant ratings by the North Carolina inspection scores is 100%. They also have a small food market. Will be back soon with my husband. I know he'll love this place too. read more

After tasting this food, it's the only thing I'm craving everyday, I had to buy 2 plates to have some for another day, it's that good!!! I live an hour away and I plan my trips to Wilmington around the business hours of the outstanding restaurant. read more

I have been looking for toum since moving to NC 13 years ago. It's a garlic sauce, almost like an aioli. It's thick and looks like mayonnaise but tastes like straight garlic and is DELICIOUS! I was already set to try this place before even noticing it was on the menu. I got all the feels once that sweet sweet cream sauce hit my mouth. It was just like what I remember! Staff was kind and the food was great. You have to look for them is the only issue. They are tucked behind Uptown Market. They are in the same building but have a separate entrance by the back, on the side. I will 100% go back. Can't wait to eat my leftovers! :) read more

Perfectly seasoned gyros, juicy shawarma, and salads that actually taste like something (bright, herby, with that perfect punch of lemon and spice). Every bite was so good. Could not finish our meals! The staff were kind and attentive - they even wiped down the table for me while I waited for my takeout, which honestly says a lot. Big fat NO'! Too expensive for the serving size. The meats were super greasy and dripping from fat. The side Salad was not edible.. Fool me one time. We can go to chipotle and eat for two a good healthy meal. Plus food is served in styrofoam. read more

The food here is incredible. Every ingredient shines and complements the other. I got the beef shawarma with fries and a chicken pita. This place is a hidden gem. Friendly people and the inside and outside are clean as well. So glad I stumbled across it; I will certainly be back. read more

The food here is outstanding -- fresh, and super flavorful. You can really tell the difference in the quality. A bit hard to find but well worth the visit. I ordered 2 bowls to go. Two very nice ladies helped me with my order. Falafel bowl was not greasy and flavor was delicious. Sides were awesome too. Loved the tomato cucumber salad and also the hummus was fantastic. The other bowl was beef shawarma which my spouse loved. Finally I must say I've never been in a cleaner place - well deserving of its 100% sanitation rating. We can't wait to go again and try other things. read more

My 1st visit to get a 'to go' order to bring along to Wilmington Brewing's The Venue was amazing. Family owned and very friendly folks. I had the falafel bowl and it was SO amazing. Hidden treasure, I 100 percent recommend everyone to go try the chicken pita 10/10 so rich in flavor. The owner was telling me that the ingredients are fresh they make everything that morning. The service is amazing, the second that I walked in they have a display of their many salads and sauces. Will return and try other dishes. Pleasant staff and freshly made. We had beef shawarma and chicken shawarma with garlic fries. All was good and unique. Nice change from our usual foods. A few seats inside with more on a covered deck. Place is a little difficult to find but Google maps located it. Didn't have a permanent sign when we went there other than a flexible sign on the deck railing. Think the sign had been ordered. We saw someone reviewed this place on ILM Foodie on Facebook. Went there for lunch to give it a try. Per the owner, it's still 'soft opening', the signage hasn't arrived yet. The owner who is also the chef was very pleasant, we chatted a bit. She marinates all her meat herself and all the sides are made fresh everyday and they tasted fresh.
