Deliah sat me down, asked what I liked -shape, colors, etc - asked if I had any photos and started getting to work. She chose frames that would compliment my bone structure, colors that compliment my eye color, skin color and hair color. The first pair she brought out I thought "oh these are the ONES" then she brought out another and another and I loved every single one of them! I ended up buying two pairs. One for the spring/summer and one for the fall/winter. I regret nothing! I had been going to an eye care place in tacoma for the past 19 years and never had an experience like this. I only remember ever picking out 2 frames in the entire 19 years of going there that I loved. Every other time I was just picking the "best" out of what they had. That's why I ultimately started shopping around elsewhere bc I wanted to LOVE my glasses, not just settle for a pair and count down the days until I could get a new pair. That trust was clearly misplaced. Our family spent nearly $30,000 on an HVAC and air conditioning system installed by Brennan, only to receive shockingly poor workmanship. The installation was done with hoses and wiring cutting directly through the home with little apparent regard for proper engineering design, aesthetics, or long-term functionality. The overall quality of the installation was far below what anyone should expect for a project at this price point. Even worse, the system failed after just 3 years and 9 days -- only nine days outside the warranty period. When we contacted Brennan, they sent a service technician who recommended using a sealant solution that would essentially reduce the lifespan of the unit instead of properly repairing the system. The response felt careless, dismissive, and entirely focused on avoiding responsibility rather than helping the customer. What is especially disappointing is Costco's role in all of this. Brennan's poor reputation and long-standing customer complaints are not difficult to find. Their track record speaks for itself. Despite this, Costco continues to recommend them as a trusted provider under the Costco name. After bringing these concerns to Costco directly -- including the premature system failure, the poor installation quality, and Brennan's inadequate response -- Costco declined to take meaningful action. That response was incredibly disappointing given Costco's reputation for customer service and consumer advocacy. Costco's recommendation gave our family confidence to move forward with Brennan, and we now feel that confidence was misplaced. Companies endorsed by Costco should meet a significantly higher standard of workmanship, integrity, and customer support than what we experienced here. Regardless, I would say that most shoppers are polite, and the overall atmosphere is still pleasant. I appreciate the variety of items available--there are some staples I can always count on, while others seem to rotate or be limited. Buying in bulk at reasonable prices is definitely a win. One thing I found funny is that the layout here feels like a flip-flopped version of the Costco I used to visit on Exposition in California. It's organized similarly enough that I've been able to find what I need pretty quickly after just a few visits. My only small disappointment is that they don't carry the caramel flavor of the Premier Protein shakes I love--but that's a minor gripe in the grand scheme of things. Customer service has been great overall though. Whether it's regular checkout or self-checkout, employees are friendly and helpful. Sometimes they even pre-scan items in your cart to speed things up, so by the time you get to checkout, you can leave all your items in your cart, scan your membership card, and just pay for all the items that were pre-scanned without having to place them on the conveyer. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. We also had questions about using our Costco rewards, and the staff at the membership counter were super helpful in walking us through the process. The food court is another bonus--we ordered a whole pizza once, and I love how easy it is to use the kiosks. They call out order numbers instead of making people line up, which honestly works so much better given how crowded the food court area usually gets at every Costco. Overall, it's been a really positive shopping experience, and I will definitely be a frequent regular here.

The care was decent at first (I had…read morea history of a retina condition, so they would schedule me with an ophthalmologist for my routine exams) but in recent years I noticed they make no attempt whatsoever at continuity of care, they just schedule you with a random provider. Two visits ago, they had the radio playing in the waiting room. Reception was terrible, mostly static, and I asked the receptionist to turn it off or re-tune it. She told me she "wasn't allowed" to touch the radio. So I mentioned it to the tech when she called me back. She looked at me like I was nuts, offering helpfully, "I just tune that out". Last visit, the optometrist was using a scribe, and she dictated a term to him that was unfamiliar to me. I interrupted her to ask her what it meant, and she acted annoyed and told me to " save (my) questions for later". Of course, later never came. Last week, I called and was offered an appointment over 2 months out. The only time available was 7:45 am. I appreciate they are open extended hours to accommodate more patients, but I decided to get a referral from McKenzie at Capital Eye (by the Fred Meyer in Lacey). She recommended an optometrist only group in Tumwater. I saw them this morning and the experience was 180 degrees--nice office, up to date equipment, good bedside manner etc. The only reason I give Clarus 2 stars is they do have ophthalmologists. So if you do need cataract or retina surgery or something like that, it might be a place to consider. And oh yeah, they do have nice frames and the gal who helped me pick out my last pair listened carefully to what I wanted and helped me pick out a better pair than I would have chosen for myself.

The VA was going to pay for new glasses for me presumedly at Clarus. But Frank at Clarus knows all about how it's really supposed to work with the VA and completely disregarded copies of the VA authorizations I shared with him. Again, Frank knows how it works and what the VA gave me is wrong (if he even read it which I doubt). Frank even has a piece of paper handout created there at Clarus he gave me again stating He was right and the documentation I had from the VA was wrong. Veterans under VA care are entitled to two pairs of glasses every couple of years. Maybe those are the Veterans Frank's piece of paper directions apply to. I'm a Veteran that has a disability from an eye infection I had in Vietnam some 50 years ago. Maybe, just maybe, I'm different than the Veterans Sir Frank's piece of paper might apply to. They didn't even measure my optical center to make sure the prisms were in the right spots. They also don't have any clue how to adjust glasses and mine have been mangled by them several times now. They even chipped my lenses while adjusting them and didn't mention it. Today I went to pick up a replacement pair because they had the prism in the wrong locations and I asked the (new) employee for my glasses he tried to give me someone else's.... Then I asked the value of my optical height since it had just been updated. He told me he couldn't tell me as it would "break HIPAA" and that he would have to call his manager....I had him call and suddenly he could tell me me own prescription details. Absolute idiot. Don't buy glasses here, I have to take all mine over to Capital Eyes next door to be fixed/actually adjusted.

Dr. Ly tells me everything that I would and would not love to hear but I already know it and how to proceed with her referral, which I need to know. Again she is very candid, competent, thorough, and detailed in explaining all my questions (knowledgeable) in a fair-minded way, and is caring and cost conscious to the patient's benefit. Her office is equipped with state of the art technology and no nonsense professional staff. They will not charge you anything more than you have to pay needlessly. For example, they ask me if I want eye dilation (insurance covered) or flash digital imaging ($25), my choice is the latter, which is a more advanced preferred procedure, rather than to walk away with dilated eyes.
