It was one of the rare "shit happens" incidents. He even gave me some oil sand to take home to use to clean up my garage. My trust has been reestablished with an auto service shop. Repair shops in the area were 3-4 weeks out, so while searching Google Maps, I noticed that Jiffy Lube changes all types of fluids, including differential oil. I called them, no appointment was needed, and we drove it to their shop, where we met Chuck and his coworkers. They were knowledgeable and friendly, replaced the differential oil and even replaced our turn signal light that had stopped working on the road for just a few dollars and a minute more. And we didn't even have to get out of the RV! Fortunately, that's all it needed and we were able to continue with our vacation worry-free and without spending a fortune. Thanks, Chuck & friends.
