Being retired I never minded the trip to Seattle for routine car maintenance at Seattle Mercedes…read moreBenz. Due time the limited encounter policy of he virus containment I decided to stay home and have European Auto take over keeping my 2016 GLE350. In two to three hours I was driving it home. The work and service were excellent. I'm happy to know I can get such great service easily. Saved me hours of travel and I only saw one person so my exposure was minimal and safer than the option of going the dealer.

The tow truck driver left the lights (or 4-way flashers) on and killed the battery. So the tech brought a booster box to jump it and started it. They heard the knocking and turned it off in less than 60 seconds. They said there was obviously major engine problems and they didn't feel it was advisable to run it any longer. I believe they hooked up a code reader but I was not informed if it showed anything or not. We had an extended warranty through a separate company, so I gave them the information and they called to try to get approval to do the work. I don't think they were on the phone for even 30 minutes. They were told to get a price quote to replace the engine. At that point two of the techs discussed at length whether or not they could say it needed a new engine without further diagnostic. They told me they needed 3 hours of labor at over $200.00 per hour, to pull the whole engine apart to determine if it could be rebuilt or it needed to be replaced. At this point I received an important call and stepped out to take the call, I ended up spending 30 to 45 minutes on the call. When I went back in they said they made a couple of calls and the cheapest engine they could find was $2000.00 and I would have to pick it up in Tacoma. I told them the most I might be able to come up with was $1000.00. They said most of that would be used up with the diagnostic. While we were having that conversation, the extended warranty company called me to tell me they wouldn't cover more than $450.00. After that, the techs and I spent quite awhile discussing my options (or lack there of). But I ultimately told them that we didn't have enough to do anything then and said we might try to trade it in (even though we still owed on it). I asked if they could recommend a dealer that might take it. They said they weren't sure but would make a couple of calls. I told them I was working Tuesday & Wednesday, and asked if I could leave the car there until Thursday so I could make arrangements to have it towed. They said that would be fine but no longer. Then they mentioned that I would have to pay before I could take the car. I was totally shocked that they wanted to charge me for the 60 second diagnostic. I asked how much and they said the car had been there for 3 hours at that point and I should be paying them for the 3 hours. Then they acted like they felt bad for me and said they would give me a break and only charge me for 1 hour. I went ahead and payed the $210.85 and left. The next morning before 9:00am I get a message that they wanted me to get the car out of their parking lot. When I called them to tell them I was working on arrangements to get it towed, they said that the boss offered to buy the car for $100.00. Which was a major insult since they had charged me over $200.00 the day before for doing absolutely nothing, other than making a couple of phone calls.

I went to Les Schwab Nov. 30th for the free travel check-up…read more I was told my battery would need to be replaced very soon, so I opted to do so. I requested they make sure the terminals were adequately tightened as I'd had an issue with that years ago at another facility. I was told that they were tightened but I needed new terminals and to go to O'Reilly's for that. It was my understanding from the mechanic that the issue with the terminals staying connected should be okay unless i was on a bumpy roads or hit a speed bump. I made one stop before i went to O'Reilly's, when I got to O'Reilly's I was told they don't carry the terminals I needed. Got back in the car and the car wouldn't start, one terminal was indeed loose already. The terminals connection with old battery were working and now not. For years, no problem with the terminals staying put with the old battery. It had just been a little more than hour that they replaced the battery so I called them, first call I was put on hold for several minutes then the call disconnected, then when I did speak with someone the attitude I felt was "your problem, not ours" not even " hey sorry about that.' I was surprised and disappointed that there wasn't some kind understanding that I was now stuck because of their incompetence and not even a suggestion as to what to don now, actually Tracy I think it was said for me to find a place that may carry the terminals I need, even still.... my problem not their's that I'm now stuck

Not only did they fix my car perfectly, and for a reasonable price, but when they found out that I had to go out of town they offered to pick my wife up and drive her up to get our car when it was fixed. Now that is going above and beyond! So nice to work with Frankfurth Auto Body this past week, so wonderful to experience their professionalism and their helpful and curteous and friendly attitude.

I had already gotten an estimate from the largest, best known body shop in the area and wanted to get a second estimate. My estimate at Frankfurth was far more reasonable than my first one was, but what made me choose them was that it's a mom and pop local business run by a honest, hardworking family man named Chris, a father who lives locally. It isn't always about saving every last dollar. There are things that are nearly as important to me. All things being equal, I'd always rather give my money to a locally owned/operated business than some big, faceless, corporate body shop. I could not have been more pleased with the whole process. I appreciated Frankfurth's fair prices, but I was thrilled with the quality of their work. My truck came out looking perfect. They did exactly what they promised they would do and finished on time. Their repair was flawless and they even returned my vehicle washed and showroom clean. You just can't beat that. I highly recommend Frankfurth & Son's Auto Body for all your body shop needs. Everyone there was personable, professional and honest. They made me a customer for life.
