Stayed here several months ago. It was a great place- very peaceful. And the breakfast was terrific. I recommend it completely.

Trumpeter Inn Bed & Breakfast - Sage room

    Trumpeter Inn Bed & Breakfast

    (55 reviews)

Very warm and friendly hosts . We arrived very late in the evening. I'm one of the last ferries…read moreInn and they left a note for us on the door with full instructions. On how to get in our room, the breakfast was very good and they even made a to go on our last day. The in is located out of town in the countryside. About 10 mins from the ferry. Lammas goats on property. We drove bit the area has Taxi. Comfortable and quiet. No elevator so if your room is upstairs you will need to get your bags up the stairs case Breakfast was also served upstairs.

We stayed out our first ever Bed and Breakfast and it was amazing! We highly recommend visiting…read morethe San Juan Islands, Friday Harbor, and staying at the Trumpeter Inn Bed & Breakfast. There are so many positives I am sure I missed some. Location: Close to town (5min), also centrally located to head to any part of the island! County Setting (5 acres) with livestock you can feed! Our room had an en-suite bathroom that was clean and had modern fixtures. Wonderful hosts! Claudia, Tyrone & Sveva. Claudia made an amazing breakfast each morning. She even baked chocolate chip cookies daily, there was also coffee, tea, & hot coco available at any time for us to have from the kitchen. We really enjoyed feeding the Alpacas and Pygmy Goats. The animals were so adorable and friendly. My only con was our initial impression of the room as it did not have a TV. But as our stay went on, we thoroughly enjoyed not having a TV in the room, it allowed us to disconnect more and take in the beauty of the island and surroundings. They do have a family/tv room, but we never felt the need to turn it on. If you are looking for a little peace & quiet, with a great breakfast each morning that is included in your stay, you have to come and stay at the Trumpeter Inn Bed & Breakfast!!

Courtyard Suites - Studio Suite - sleeps 5

    Courtyard Suites

    (14 reviews)

Our family of 3 stayed in the Studio Suite for 4 nights during the month of July…read more Pros: -Booking was easy online & the owner was easy to deal with. -The suite is advertised, clean with adequate kitchen supplies. I would have preferred a new bar of soap to a large bottle of body wash in the shower, but that may be personal preference. -Location, location, location. We walked everywhere in town except one day; there was a car rental place within walking distance & we were able to explore the rest of the island. There is no denying that the Courtyard Suites have a fantastic location! -The owner allowed us to store our luggage in the suite before check-in time as the Clipper arrived very early in the morning. She provided the same courtesy during the day we checked out. This was much appreciated. Cons: -I hardly slept well at all during our 4 night stay here. -There is a trash dumpster right outside the window by the bed. Three of the four mornings, a loud truck came & emptied the dumpster before 7 a.m. It's possible one of the trucks was a fuel truck as well, I was too tired to look out the window. There was no way to sleep through this racket. -We attempted to keep the windows open to allow a breeze at night since there is no AC. The suite has casement windows that swing out, with mini blinds for privacy. Whenever the breeze came through the windows, the blinds would bang against the window frames. Several nights my husband & I couldn't sleep from the blinds banging, & ended up having to be hot with no cross ventilation just to stop the noise. -By the time tax was added & $12/night for my son to sleep on the futon, it ended up being pricier than we expected at $255 per night. Overall I would recommend the Courtyard Suites, especially if you are a heavy sleeper!

I'm sure this place could have been awesome. Hence why I said "could have". The owner emailed me…read moreabout what dogs I have to bring with. I initially said that I have a Lab and a pit bull. I got a response that big dogs were not allowed especially the pit bull. Only small dogs are allowed considering smaller dogs are much more aggressive and annoying. The best part is that I have contacted the owner about getting my deposit back. 4 days later, no response. Go figure. I wonder how long I'll get a response. Save your money, chill at another place.

Crystal Seas Kayaking - Sunset kayak tour with CSK on the west side of SJI

We booked their three-hour kayaking trip and, the…read moremorning of, realized we'd be getting back later than we wanted (my husband didn't read all the details ). We called to see if it was possible to move our trip up an hour, and they couldn't have been more accommodating--super friendly and flexible. Our guide, Madi was fun, knowledgeable, and made us feel completely safe and comfortable on the water. The scenery was beautiful, the pace was relaxed, and we really enjoyed learning little bits along the way. Even better, we ended up having the trip to ourselves, which felt like a private tour. We'd absolutely book again with Crystal Seas--big fans!

By far the best kayak tour company I have EVER been on. What can I say a out Tim, our magical…read moremystery tour kayak guide? Well words can't be good enough to tell you how awesome he made all of us feel. He was a walking or in this case kayaking encyclopedia. We learned some much about marine biology, the history of the San Juan's, just life in general. He is a true Renaissance man! Playing in a bluegrass band tonight and laying into by day. A true gem on the Island. Made me think, huh? What a great place to live. On top of all the fun knowledge he imparted he also lost his keys to the sea gods! But that was a temporary glich because one of the younger guys on our tour dove in the ice cold Puget sound waters and retrieved the Kay's and saved the day. Well at least Time's day. Tja is go out to Brandon for his heroics. Such a fun group and funny group. A true gem of an experience here. We left Snug Harbor and paddled the West side with views of Victoria, Sydney and the Olympic mountains. I highly recommend Tim's magical mystery tour! A five star adventure.
