This place is alright. Henry is always my first choice, followed by Julie, they both do good nails. I agree with the other person that said definitely do not get Kim. She answers the phones and it literally has taken me 2 hours just to get a fill with her before. Plus she's not paying attention so your nails are uneven, and really just a mess. They also always try to sell you something. I once had the woman next to me who was getting her nails done go on and on about how beautiful my eyebrows were and not two seconds later a woman showed up telling me how awful they were and that I needed them waxed. And they're not shy about it, they get right up in your face like they are inspecting every single hair on your head and give you this shameful look to try and make you feel like you must have the biggest unibrow they have ever seen in their entire life. This is my favorite and regular nail place and I absolutely love it!!! Jimmy is my favorite for nails!! He is really fast and in my opinion does the best job!! I was really surprised to see that there are some bad reviews. I have been coming here for over a year and absolutely love it!! Olympic Nail Care saved my nails! I had the ugliest set of acrylics you could imagine, Olympic Nail removed the ugly nails and gave me a wonderful shellac mani. I went on my lunch break so I only had about 40 minutes. They were able to do everything in 25! The Salon is very clean and the staff is very friendly. I highly recommend asking for Henry if you are interested in doing acrylic nails! He does the most fantastic job and always makes sure your nails are done exactly the way you want them! He is very popular though, so if you want to get an appointment with her make sure to always call ahead of time. I understand that nail salons don't smell amazing all the time because of the amount of chemicals they have in them but seriously this is the worst smelling salon I've been into. I get headaches easily and immediately got a headache both times I've been to this place. The price is okay for decent work. Their airbrush technique is nice from what I have seen for just a regular french manicure. But, when you ask for a design in another color the people working there have no idea what to do and shift you around from one person to the next. I never knew who to pay or how I should tip because it ended up being at least three people who tried to work on my nails. I'm giving this one star, and that's only because in the end my nails looked decent and the girl at the front desk was super friendly. I originally came in because I needed a fill on my acrylic nails. I came in with my sister and niece, who were also getting their nails done and were both getting full sets. They were both seated before me and I was last. Once I sat down, I was told that since my nails were lifting they recommended I get a brand new full set, so I went with it, not knowing the excruciating pain I was about to endure!! From what I've experienced, most nail salons usually soak your nails to remove the old acrylics... this lady decides that she is just going to literally RIP THEM OFF MY NAILS! I was almost on the verge of tears and fully expressed my pain and discomfort and she continued to just aggressively rip them off my nails. I couldn't believe how insensitive and unconcerned she was when I was letting her know how painful it was. She had the audacity to say, "You say it hurts, but you're still smiling." WTF did she want me to do, break down in tears in front of everyone in the shop (even though I really wanted to and was holding it all in!) Then after my fingers were throbbing from the pain, she quickly glued the new nails on, cut them, put the acrylic and "shaped" and "buffed" them and was already starting to put the nail polish on! That was all within a matter of a few minutes! She didn't take any time to buff them out well enough, that I had to stop her and tell her that they still felt very sharp and needed to be buffed out more! I came to the realization that she was only rushing to complete my nails because she had 2 other costumers waiting that wanted her to do their nails specifically.. I couldn't believe that I was the last one seated, but the first one finished!! My niece was seated first and was the last one done- how does that make any sense? NEVER again will I return here! The person who did my nails was very rushed, she let me pick my own color but I had to pick it from a basket of ring things of colors. She said they aren't gel but they seemed like they are. And also on top of that, half way through my pedicure a regular costumer comes in so she hurries even more, to the point where she massages my legs after she puts polish on them. For the first six years or so I always had Kim do my nails. She was thought of as the owner, she wasn't, she and her husband ran it for someone else. My one complaint was that because she ran the place a fill took a long time with her. When they moved to their second location I was impressed, I figured business was great to be able to more then double their size. As time went on Kim was busier and busier. She recommended Jimmy. He was fabulous!! I I stayed with Jimmy for about 2 years and then had to stop going because I was very ill for about 18 months. Finally able to get out of bed I called to see Jimmy. When I called he was no longer there. I asked for Kim and they said she wasn't available. I booked with "Amy" who I knew from watching her over the years was very popular and always booked. When I got there I saw Amy sitting in Kim's spot. I then found out Kim had retired, bummer for me, but good for her. She worked very hard!! I had my appointment with Amy and my nails were beautiful, I was very impressed with her style, speed and instinct. I did notice she was a little rude on the phone when booking appointments and talking with people who were "walk in's" They really are not a walk in salon, way too popular and not very friendly to non regulars. You definitely need an appointment. As time went by they got busier and busier, waiting longer for my appointment to start and God forbid if I was 5 minutes late Amy would not hold back in letting me know she was not happy about it. Since Kim left it's disorderly, dirty, and overbooked. I decided I'd find someplace closer for me. (At this point I live in Concord) I got sick again and was unable to maintain my nails. I was only working about 5 days a month. Today I was at work and decided I'd get a full set if Amy had an opening. Henry answered the phone and was rude as can be, but score, I did get a 12:20 appointment. The one thing Henry forgot to mention was that they'd moved, not a huge deal, just not real obvious where they were. When I walked in nobody greeted me, I was shocked, I know everyone that works there. I was so surprised that the now third Olympic Nails was SO small and had no room to even walk around in. I had my 3.5 yr old boy I take care of with me thinking they were still in the big location. Amy didn't hold back in her disappointment that he was with me. I know it's not the ideal for a three year old, but Amy is fast, I figured we'd be in and out in 25 min. There was one chair next to me where he sat very quietly and watched what Amy was doing. As Amy is doing my nails the phone is ringing off the hook, she's answering calls and each one she takes she is ruder and ruder to each client. She even hung up on one person and didn't answer when the phone rang immediately after. She's a very abrasive women. At this point my tips and acrylic are on. I had an emergency come up with my husband and we started texting. I was using speech to text so I wouldn't touch anything and mess up my nails...again Amy's obviously put out that I'm distracted. I notice my three year old is looking uncomfortable, oh great! He's got to go "potty" I told Amy, quick break, he's got to go potty. She looked up at me and said "You can't, you can't touch anything" My response was "I can't send him alone" she said "DON'T bring him ever again" she was fuming.My response was Kim never had a problem..she said real loud "I'm not Kim" She was so bitchy. I said "Amy, I'm paying you, right now you're working for me. You really shouldn't be talking to me like that." Her response was "I talk how I want" I took the boy to the bathroom and I am steaming..she basically yelled at me in front of the whole salon. Once he's finished his business..like I said literally one minute, I walk back to her table and put down $20 and said "You just lost one of your oldest customers. You are rude to customers and bitchy" I walked out with nails not filed or painted. As I was walking the plaza my phone rang with a number I didn't know, it was Amy calling me from her cell. A fill costs $21. Another good thing: lip and brow wax is only $15 total, and they will do it while you're getting your nails done. Know this: Don't come here for a pedicure. If you're a germaphobe like me, you'll be scared of getting AIDS, or some other flesh eating disease. Olympic nails is not for pedicures, it's for acrylics, OK? Another tip: Don't have Kim, the owner, do your nails. She is always taking calls for appointments. The phone rings every 30 seconds, so your fill will take 2-3 hours. Everyone else is good though. So I have to rewrite my thoughts about this place now... unfortunately.... I went here for the second time and I wasn't too happy with everything. First of all they don't have a great selection of colors. I did go on a friday evening and it was busy (as most nail salons are)... but it just felt very chaotic and unorganized. So the lady told me to go find a color and then I could go sit in one of the pedicure chairs. As I am waiting for someone to start, the lady comes to me and greets me. She was very friendly. As she was putting on her gloves on to start my pedicure I noticed that her gloves looked like they have been used which completely grossed me out... I tried to not let it get to me... Then another lady came to start on my manicure and she was also very friendly. I felt like she did a half ass job on everything while she was doing it. I actually had to ask her to clean up the nail polish she missed I had on before she started painting my nails the new color I wanted. What grossed me out more was that after she was done with my manicure she threw the water in the bowl into the area where my feet were for the pedicure. I know that it was my hands in that bowl but I mean come on, REALLY???? That just looks unprofessional. I just felt she didn't take the time to do her job properly. I had bubbles on my nails from the top coat. Just overall a shitty job. The only plus side to this place is that they are cheap and the people are friendly... But I definitely will not be going back for any services done there. One of the other things that sucks too is that they take CASH ONLY. Ok, so let me start out by saying that it is a bit unfair to judge a nail salon on one tech. If the mani was bad, it was the tech's fault not the shop. Except the shop hired them. If you can, get the two people at the stations behind the front desk, I'm pretty sure they rent those desks, meaning they are probably above the par of the others. I'll start with the good. -the acrylics/gels last forever. Like, seriously a month before you need a fill. -it's cheap (32 for french gel/acrylics) now the bad -they do them too thick -they don't stop trying to get you to add services during your service, which you are probably trying to enjoy, but can't becaause of the harassing sales tactic. "Do you want brow wax? why not? I very good! You look like you need one!" And they don't stop with the services! They will literally roll over to your non-natural nail station with a portable tub and offer a pedi. I have never seen that in any other nail salon. Every single waxing tech will try to sell you a service, and sometimes, at the same time as each other! It's unbearable. -they have no customer service skills. The guy tech looked at my nails and said "you picked this shape? It's ugly." -they are always talking to each other in Vietnamese, sometimes across the whole room. I know they are probably not talking about me, but it takes away from the relaxation. -they don't take cards. They have an ATM, but you have to pay 2 bucks to use it. How is running/renting that machine less expensive than running credit cards?! Basically, the only reason I would go back would be because I HAVE to have it then and am low on cash. The In N Out of nail salons, do one thing, with few options and do it well. I was referred here by a friend. I usually get light pink powder with glitter powder on the tips and was told this was available. My appt was at 11, apparently no one told Jimmy I was a new client, or that I needed old nails removed and a new set, even though I told the person on the phone when I made the appt. I sat at an empty station while he finished his current client at 11:20. He then looked at my nails and I sat with my fingers in a bowl of acetone for 30 mins while he did his next client. I told him I would like glitter on the tips, he said no problem. He quickly put on a new set and in his haste, caused deep to shallow cuts on the edges of 6 out of 10 of my fingernails, (very painful and I type for a living), using only clear powder, he then painted them with soft pink polish, airbrushed the tip white, and said you want glitter? I replied yes, thinking that he had some way to coat the tips with an appropriate amount of glitter. Well, he took out a bottle of glitter polish and dabbed it on the airbrushed white tip of the nail. That is their glitter tip. Really? My nails do look nice, and Jimmy did a good job, other than the cuts, but it is not the look that I wanted and was told was available. It is a prime example of you get what you pay for. Quick service once you are seated, few options, and nice looking nails. If you are looking for a salon that has options, don't go here. If you are looking for a relaxing, quiet mani/pedi experience, don't go here either. It is a low cost nail factory, very chaotic, loud, and feels dirty and disorganized, with women wandering around asking if you want a pedicure, eyebrow wax, massage, etc, which is very annoying. There is no appt book, they loosely follow a schedule and it appears that the nail techs have no idea who their next client is or what service they are to perform. read more

I will not be coming back to this nail salon. As soon as I walked in the door I was accosted to get my nails shellacked. The pushy woman said "I'm paying $10 for a manicure already so for another $10 the shellac is guaranteed not to chip for 2 weeks!" I said no thanks, I don't like the idea and I just want a manicure. "How about we wax your eyebrow and clean it up?" Ah there's nothing wrong with my eyebrows thank you I just want a mani pedi, regular stuff. Finally I was allowed to sit down. The manicurist then says the same exact thing as the pushy woman. I just want a regular manicure! Finally she works on my nails but I can sense she's not thrilled she's not charging me another $10 for the shellac. The pedicurist was very good and she explained it would be worth the money for when I go on vacation, then my nails would stay nice the whole time. When it came time to pay I was told they only take cash and the ATM machine in their shop charges $2.25! If I had known that before that I would have come prepared and not feel like I've been ambushed. This is my second time there, the first time was using a gift certificate. Miss M and I had nearly identical experiences here except I went in for a manicure and pedicure not acrylics. I sincerely doubt the girl who worked on me was licensed based on her lack of skill and the fact she could not speak one word of ENGLISH (she kept having another girl ask me questions). It took 2 weeks for my cuticles to start to heal from the slaughtering that was done to them and I still have a scar on my foot from the harsh scrubbing I received. I received one recommendation from a girl who works at one of my favorite stores, she has gel nails and they looked nice. Guess she got lucky on her visit. I followed Olympic Nails from their old location on Olympic Blvd, when they were a much smaller staff, location, and business, to their newer location now on Botelho. I love their staff, their large spacious location, their services, and their prices. Yes, you do have to pay with Cash, but that's not a big deal if you know that ahead of time. I've been a client of theirs for years now, and I've tried out all of their services, from pedicures, to manicures, to gel, to shellac, to nail decorations, to wax services. They're great. This place is awful! Do not go here! When I moved to Contra Costa County 2 1/2 years ago, I went in search of a good nail place as I was in need of a fill for my acrylics and a pedicure. I had got several recommendations for Olympic Nails and thought it would be a great place to go. After all, all of the nails I had seen from there were beautiful, so how could I go wrong? I got my fill and pedicure and my nails looked beautiful. However I left with more than just that. I left with 6 bleeding lacerations on my finger tips, a blister on one finger, and a bleeding sore on my foot. And being that all the instruments they used were dirty I was in fear of contracting Hepatitis or HIV. Their nails technicians did not have their certificates posted, as the law states they must, so who even knows if they were licensed to do nails? If they had all the hours of training it takes to get licensed, I doubt they would have butchered me like they did. So that is concerning. I'm not even going to go into the pain I was in while they did my nails. All in all, the whole thing was traumatic enough for me to take my acrylics off and stay away from all nails Salons for a year after that. Not all places are like this. Just don't go here. read more

I have mixed reviews on this place. Some days, very good, others, not so much. Friday was not so much and I wanted to review while getting a pedicure but couldn't connect to Yelp. It's your basic salon, rows of chairs and stations. I've had some pretty good foot massages there but that, too, is hit and miss. Last Friday the gal was not very friendly, barely would respond to me. 70% of the time her head was turned looking at co-workers behind her - just watching what they were doing, saying nothing. It got to the point where she'd have my foot tweaked to one position w/o doing anything, ogling them for so long that my foot actually cramped. When I pulled it away and told her it was cramping, she just grabbed it and put it back down to work on. A few minutes later, total distraction. Then there is the main lady, probably a manager. She will get right in your face and either say, "You're good" or "You like eyebrow wax?". They definitely up-sell, which I can appreciate but it's not subtle at all which makes me say "NO!" even if I could use the service she is offering. When it was time for me to go to the drying station, she handed me my shoes, despite the fact that my hands were full - wallet, purse, phone, jewelry. I've never been to a salon where they don't assist you with this. She was totally unhelpful and almost caused me to drop everything. I actually had to ask who to pay - believe it or not! They DO NOT ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS...come on!! After this last experience, I will not likely return. A lady named Amy did my nails... Things were okay at first until she gave me the stink eye for no reason... the only reason I could think of was I was watching her carefully as she did my Airbrush french. She wasn't very fast like im used too, and when she did my gel she missed my thumb.. so im going to have to go back! I love this place. I won't go anywhere else! I have been coming here for as long as I can remember and the girls do the best and affordable shellac nail. So many colors to choose from and they last so long. All the girls are great (and of course jimmy and Henry for acrylic) but of course I have my favorites. As a first timer to this salon, I found it decent in terms of service and pricing. I got the shellac manicure for $25, which I thought was okay. I liked the elegance and decor of the interior, and there were quite a few estheticians available even on a Wednesday morning. But I do wish that the hands/fingers of the esthetician weren't so chapped, because it really didn't feel good at all when she moisturized and massaged my hand. In fact, she didn't actually use any lotion, and instead just used the cuticle oil which I thought was sloppy. I was a bit desperate to fix my nails after a clumsy mistake from the previous day, which is why I stopped by here especially since it's right next to my house. I went to Olympic Nails Wednesday the 25th of November and wanted to have Jimmy do my nails, per another Yelp user saying he was good. The lady at the front desk told me he had gone home for the night and said "you sit, I find someone for you". I needed my nails done before Thanksgiving and thought I would take my chances. A minute later they said "Jimmy has had a cancellation, you go there". Seated with Jimmy and had pretty high expectations and he definitely delivered. Honestly, this is the best manicure (pink and white, although he sprayed the white on and that put me off) I have ever had. He was so fast, when I sat down the lady next to me (getting a pink and white) said she had been there for awhile and Jimmy finished before her. I was in his chair for 20 minutes. Bottom line, the lady at the front telling me he was not there - SO RUDE! He did an amazing job and I will be faithfully his. They look so flipping good and they have not grown out a bit, they are not bumpy, they are super flat and look natural, glossy, gorgeous! I am well happy showing off my wedding ring with this manicure!!! Make an appointment and you wont be disappointed. By the way the place could use some touch up paint, but it's my nails that matter. I totally dis-agree with the reviews. I've been going there for 4+ years and they do an awesome job. They do this gel over the acrylic over the sprayed french tips and it lasts till you go in for a fill and I always get tons of complements - I easily go 4 weeks before my fills. I have been going to Olympic nails since 2003 & I love this place! I moved near Sacramento a few years ago & still haven't been able to find another nail salon that compares to Olympic. One thing that you may want to be careful of is who you get your nails done by. I always go to one of four people. Make sure that you go to someone who has been there for a long time! I have been a loyal client for over 5 years for my nails. Henry is the best. His nails last for 6-8 weeks even though I wont stretch it that long. He knows me by name and rememebrs our conversations through out the years. I send every one I know to him and get many compliments. I don't think nail salons should sell stuff outside of nail products. My nail polish chipped right away, but partially my fault for busying my hands with things too soon. The nail dryer wasn't good at all, even though it was high tech. My toes didn't chip at least. Nice inside. I made an appointment and got service right away. read more

I love going to Olympic Nails. I've only gotten my pedis there however, because they give pretty long massages on your feet/legs. Nice area placed in the back next to a quiet restaurant and pretty fountains outside. read more
