I'm always a bit wary whenever I come here for my pedicure...the place isn't exactly the cleanest and I'm usually nervous I may get foot fungus or something...but THEN they start massaging my calves and feet and I forget all about the foot fungus! Seriously!! 20 - 30 straight minutes of a calf/foot massage...and it really is a massage, not a lotion application session like most other places! They are a bit pushy about selling you other services but that massage...oh! I have to say this to all the nay say-ers; if you want to go to a luxury spa then go - pay a premium for that, have a quiet, relaxing, long AMAZING mani-pedi ! Other wise as in life you get what you pay for and what you pay for at OLYMPIC nails a decent-quick-manicure (which I get lots of compliments on). If you go to a fast food store do they ask if "you want fries with that?" It is a business! Business 101 is to sell your products or services....I think yelp is great to say how you feel, but is it also a forum for the GRUMPY in life to be heard beyond their own four walls. I've been getting my nails done for over a decade, and this place unfortunately offered my worst experience. I made an appointment for 4:00 p.m. on a weekday and arrived at 3:50 p.m. for a shellac manicure. Maybe I just caught them on a bad day, but they were BUSY. I was told to pick a color from their limited shellac selection. For starters, as soon as I approached the manicure table a small cockroach ran across the table. I tried not to think too much into that since the door was open, but then the service just went downhill from there. They had me soak off my existing shellac polish so I waited...and waited... and waited. Two people walked in after me and got their nails done before me. One lady walked in and was told to remove her own polish and file her own nails while she waited - first time I'd EVER seen a nail salon do that. After 50 minutes of soaking off this shellac and nobody even acknowledging me, I told them I had to be out of there by 5:15 p.m. So they finally sent over a girl to do my nails - very speedily - at 4:45 p.m. They claim it took so long to soak off because I had my nails done somewhere else, yet they used the SAME brand of shellac as my other salon and even if that were the case, it should not take nearly an HOUR to soak off polish. I can say with confidence that I will NOT be returning. read more

Have been many times to this salon and never quite satisfied. Mani/pedi services inconsistent, often practitioners inexperienced. With luck, a good service can be had on occasion. Continuous chatting in language other than English by employees, some actually have to have a translator if you speak to them. I have been a customer of their's for over 2 years now. I have never seen a better technique then Jimmy's. He has a talent and is very gifted at his craft. Unfortunatly this is where the good news ends. As good as he is he also lacks a good "bedside" manner and customer service. I have gotten the feeling on many occasions that because he is soo popular that he could care less about treating his clients like he appreciates their business. I have been treated and have seen others be treated as if they are cattle being hurded. I have made appoitnments well in advance only to rush there from work to find that they double booked him and I ended up having Kim do my nails. THEY WERE HORRID. The acrylic was Fat and lumpy, the nail polish was think and was lumpy as well. I had acrylic all over the tips of my fingers. They offer a wide veriety of services. Waxing/pedi's/massage. Unfortunalty the pedicures are lack lusterd and are probably 1 of the top very worst I have ever had. I have had a pedicure from there before. Yesterday i had a pedicure that no exaggeration took 20 minutes because they were closing in a 1/2 hour. That solidified thier rank. I have had a number of people wax my brows for me. All but Kim and her sister had seriously ruined my brows for 3-4 weeks.tooo much hair in areas where there should b hair and had completely messed up my shape. I once had a pedicure from this place then a week later had to go for another one. The lady without solicitaion told me my nails cuticels looked as if I hadnt had a pedi in months. after she was done my feet looked brand new. It took her a total of 45 minutes for $23. Bottom line. JIMMY DOES GREAT NAILS, SUCKS IN CUSTOMER SERVICE. BUT IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO GET A PEDICURE OR EYEBROW WAXed I SUGGEST NOT WASTING YOU TIME OR MONEY. FIND ANOTHER PLACE. read more

Pretty poor quality... Took my mama to get a mani, pedi with shellac. Not only did my mom get all cut up and bleed profusely during her pedi, but her shellac French mani was horrible. Chipped on 4 fingers the next day. When called to complain was told my mom could come back to her her nails fixed. Well unfortunately that did no good as they chipped again the next day. I have been a customer since 2008. Julie ROCKS, she is quick, but does an amazing job. I usually come in for a fill every 2 weeks but could go 4 weeks. My nails never chip, break or dull. Amy does an awesome job brow wax! Cindy gives the best massages, feet and shoulders! No matter how busy they are they always spend the same amount of time giving you pedicures/massages. Reading these reviews was funny. They specialize in acrylic nails. Of course it smells like chemicals. Do we regulars who go in every few weeks get greeted by name and preference of services...yeah. Get a regular, I love Amy for my nails (acrylic, and she keeps my fav neutral polish in her drawer) not so picky about who does my pedi but, they do them at the same time and respect that I am on my lunch hour, both last for 3 weeks. I only go to Amy at Olympic Nails for gels. She is very fast and does a great job. No need for a fill for over 3 weeks. I get many compliments on how my nails look. An appointment is for sure needed. Never go to Kim the owner, she is ALWAYS on the phone and it will take forever for her to finish your nails. My daughter lives with me and sees Amy or Jimmy...I hear from the clients they like Julie...Here is a full list of great people to see...I do hair and my nails last 3 weeks and my daughter gets hers done every 4 weeks...They do gel nails also...Yes, the place is busy, but this means they are good...if you have to wait it is worth the wait in gold...it saves my money for only having to get them done every three weeks and never had I had a nail lift...I work in a salon and go here to get my nails done....pick one of these people and you will not be unhappy!!! I would definitely recommend this place for gel nails. You will be in and out in less than an hour. They work quickly, mostly because they overbook. They will send you away to dry your nails and then start another customer. Then when your nails have set you walk back over to their station and have the gel brushed on your nails while hovering over the next customer they've just started. haha. Its $21 which is a great price because my nails always come out looking great and last for about 3 weeks, no chipping! Cheap nail service here, you get what you pay for! The place is filthy, paper towels are reused, tools aren't sanitized, one always has to remove their own polish and gel, poor selection of polish, and if you happen to point out that your nails are uneven or that the acrylic is too thick, somehow it will be your own fault. Nail techs here are simply flat out LAZY to give you perfect nails and won't remove old lifting acrylic but will do so only if you beg them. Yes, you are in and out for a fill in exactly 30 minutes, whether your nails need a little more TLC or not but the work is here is too shoddy. Then they expect a tip and speak to one another making snide remarks in their own language (remember Seinfeld) when they get the bare minimum! I'd rather spend a few extra bucks and get pampered than come to a place feeling as if they were doing me a favor! Never, ever going back again! read more

I have been going to Jimmy for 5 years now, and I always joke with him that if he ever leaves, I'll have to stop getting my nails done because I can't imagine going to anyone else! He is amazing..I have probably had 2 or 3 chips/breaks in 5 years which is pretty hard to believe. Also I can usually go 3 weeks before I need a fill, they may look a little grown out but the nails stay in good shape even though I'm pretty hard on them. He is SUPER quick too. All the girls do a great job on pedis, and make sure to ask about the "mini pedi" which is only $16 (if I remember correctly) and the only difference is they skip the foot/leg massage. Yeah I know that's the best part but when you're trying to keep cost down it's a great option. Love this place! read more

Today was the first time I came to Olympic Nails. If I was rating Kelly, the lady whom did my pedicure, I would give her a three. She has more to learn about doing a professional pedicure. She spent a little bit of time on scrubbing my feet and the massage was a minimal job. Amy waxed my eyebrows and sideburns. I was told to wait on the pedicurist chair for Amy to be ready to do the waxes. She knew that my nails were wet and she saw that I had my handbag, she didn't take it with her. Fortunately, my mom was with me (she is elderly) and I asked her to watch my bag that I bought to where she was sitting. It was Amy's place to do that, I was going to ask her but she ran to the back. Amy gets a 3 because the waxing was a good job. The worst part was getting a manicure from Tiffany, she put the wrong color on my nails after I clearly said, # 17 for my pedicure and another color with sparkles for my manicure. I told her that is the wrong color and she made an angry face and said something to Kelly in her native language. She did a poor job. She snipped at the cuticles, got mad when I told her after she took the first wrong color off, to please put the undercoat on. She said,"It's already in there." I guess she thinks I'm not aware of what a good manicure is. There she put it on and the nail polish. While she did my nails she stood slanted with a bad attitude. Her actions showed that she didn't want to be there. I was shocked. I can't believe that this establishment is open with these type of employees that expect good tips for poor service. The owner should sit down with her employees and clearly explain that her business is based on great customer service and respect. The only reason that I didn't walk out is because Kelly had started my pedicure. Tiffany did not greet me and she made me feel uncomfortable. One of the reasons that I get manicures and pedicures is because of the friendly, relaxing and professional job that I receive in NYC. I'm visiting California and I do not recommend this place. I just remembered I tipped all three of them and not one of them said thank you, and I tipped them appropriately. I've been going to olympic since they were on that tiny olympic street in that tiny little store where there was NO room to walk and NO room to even breath! but let me tell you.. as much as there are so many complaints about this place.. there are 300x more customers/clients! believe it or not.. people make bad reviews but they still go for some reason!! odd? i know, right? The service used to be super cool. That was until they started getting jam packed with clients and had to move near petco. I think the problem here was they didnt know how to handle all the clients when they got relocated. So many people called in and walked in (welcomed) and they just dont know how to handle all the people flying in and out of the store. Olympic is the type of nail salon that wants you in and out FAST. If you want to be pampered and all that jazz.. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! most people go there because they do a magnificent job in such a short time! The main squeeze lady (the receptionist and one of the nail ladies) get so much crap for always being "busy" but that a sign, right? THat the store is doing good. IT DOES GET SUPER ANNOYING, we all understand.. but she honestly does the best job there. I get my pedis there only bc i get my nails there and since i trust them with my nails.. i figure i can trust them with my toes. Its decent. Doesnt look as good as my acrylics though. I heard nancy can do zebra print on ur toes in any color.. so dont just settle with your little flower petals.. those are SOO last year. Olympic does the acrylics REALLY nicely though. (they have a secret man that does the secret airbrush design. lol. ask for jimmy) Since they are really busy, they tend to make you do a lot of your own stuff. Like cleaning off the excess gel after letting them sit in the uv. BUT THEY HELP YOU TAKE YOUR BAGS TO THE NEXT STATION! I hear also that they do work like soldiers.. (one man glues to tips, the next lady does the acrylics, the next does the filing, etc) BUT THATS BECAUSE THEY ARE SO BUSY! and they take in appt as soon as possible! they cant help it! they want to make sure everyone is being treated equally in there.. so dont take it to the heart. I was new to this nail salon. It was recommended to me by person at the gym I go to. I walked in for my 2:00 pm appointment and there was a very strong chemical smell that took my breath away. There is no one to greet you when you walk in the door. Someone finally asked why I was there. I was seated for my pedicure and manicure shortly thereafter. I had two people. The person doing my pedicure was doing ok until she cut into one of my toes on my right foot. It hurt and I jumped which upset her and the person doing my manicure. I couldn't tell if it was bleeding. She apologized and continued on more carefully. My fingernails were done quickly and looked nice. When my pedicure was done, she moved me to a chair facing a wall with my back to the whole salon. I didn't like that at all. She put my hands in a dryer and my feet near a fan. When my hands were dry, she came and told me the price for the pedicure and the manicure. I paid for both including a tip. I asked if I was done and she said no that my toes needed more drying. That was the last time I talked with anyone in the salon. I finally removed the tissue between my toes and walked out. My cut toe still hurts and it has been four days since my pedicure. I will not go back to Olympic Nails on Botelho Dr., Walnut Creek and I won't recommend them. read more

I found this place because a previous friend went here. I came for about 7 months only because a fill was very cheap ($21), but their god awful service and rude employee's made it unbearable. Everytime I came, with or without an appointment, I had to wait because they were overbooked. How hard is it to say no to people. The owner sits in her chair and overbooks everyone so then they in turn give shitty service to everyone ele. All these people saying the place is terrific are probably just used to the shitty service. Good, keep going there and getting your shitty service so I can go where I go now and keep getting my good service. ALSO everytime I was there the women walk around and touch you ON THE BACK asking if you want a pedicure..NO I DON"T..and as soon as you say no someone else walks up and asks you..LEAVE ME ALONE!! Also, One time I saw one of the manicurists and he told me he would do a new set for me for the price of a fill because I always tipped him well and he liked me..Well, the next time I showed up after that his friend next to him comes up to me(NOT MY MANICURITSTS MIND YOU) and tells me I owe another 15 dollars and I walked out without paying..My manicurists just sat there with his head down and didn't say a word.. and made me look like I didn't pay for my services..GO F&^% yourself Olympic Nails..WoRST NAIL SALON EVER! read more
