Perfect place to grab a slice. We have an annual Halloween tradition of walking up one side of Cleveland, stopping for pizza and eating at the picnic table outside, and going down the other side of the street. They are super nice and also participate in handing out candy. I love the garlic bread. read more

Continuing my New England area search for the ultimate in a very particular type of comfort food, I focus all of my reviews specifically on the one and only meatball grinder. Yes, grinder, not sub. I find Greek owned pizza joints very interesting and I love the authentic flavors when done right. But streetcorner pizza and sub shops can sometimcut corners, and those are the joints I'm trying to weed out in my search for a delicious meatball grinder. Lucky for me Olympic served up an extremely excellent, well balanced and hearty homemade meatball grinder. Here's my observations: First criteria is to ensure the meatballs are homemade, see my previous reviews where this is an epic fail for some. These. Are. Homemade. And they smartly slice them so they sit better in that very fresh n tasty and perfectly toasted French roll. Next, the sauce and cheese. The provolone was melted perfectly, and had a nice pull, the marinara was slightly sweet, and my only critique would be that it was molten level hot. So if you're like me, and can't wait to dive in, let it cool little bit, so you don't blow away your tongue by burning it. But that's on me. It was so delicious I couldn't help but devour it! And congrats to them for making a fine sandwich. My only other critique is that they don't offer various sizes so you get one big sub for 12 bucks. You can't get a small, medium or large, but that's OK, they're probably just trying to keep their cost down. It was plenty big the divide up for two meals!! As a bonus, I'm also a fan of an authentic Greek style pizza (my first live being from Newington CT and replicated in Bedford MA at Steve's) and this was a very good Greek pie, but not the best I've ever had. They definitely got the cheese blend and the buttery crust, and, of course, all Greek pizzas are made inside those well seasoned pans. The crust was just a little thin for my taste, I prefer Greek pizza to be a little have a little more rise to it and a little better flavor. But - a decent slice for $3. Hopefully I've convinced you to check out Olympic and the whole menu looks amazing and the service is fantastic, they really know what they're doing there and based on the volume of orders going out the door on an average Friday mid-afternoon, not even peak lunch or dinner time yet, speaks to how popular they are in the neighborhood. Hard pass on pasta - ordered Scampi Pasta with chicken for delivery ($25). The description said it was gourmet italian pasta with white wine sauce, sauteed garlic and lemon juice. Sounded light and refreshing to me. What I received was pasta drowning in butter and cheese, see picture. The cheese reeked and it was off-putting to me, as there's NO mention of cheese in the description and was something I definitely didn't want in my dish. I took one bite and it was overwhelmingly bad and oversalted, I ended up throwing it out after a second bite. Was looking for some lighter fare, not glorified gross mac n cheese. The cheese wasn't just a sprinkle, it was also very much in the sauce. The description is misleading as I've had Italian scampi at many other places that are not covered in cheese and a stick of butter. I ended up wasting $$. Kept to 2 stars because at least the order was completed and delivered quickly, but never ordering pasta from here again! read more

Ordered a pepperoni pizza along with a gyros. Pizza was okay...the slices could have been cut so you could pick up a piece w/o dragging the toppings off the neighboring slices. Otherwise, it was okay...and I enjoyed the gyros although the white sauce was overflowing making it quite gooey! Ordered delivery from here - white pizza tastes great, not too overpowering on the garlic. The cheese pizza is also pretty solid - your typical Greek pizza place. However, i ordered the meatballs and they were delicious. For $10 you get a ton of meatballs with melted cheese in a marinara sauce - a definite reorder. Every time we go here my boyfriend gets the Buffalo Chicken Pizza-- if you get it, get the large: it's much bigger than the small and not much more $. The pizza is delicious! Being gluten-free, I can't fully partake but I've scraped the toppings off and oh my gosh is it good. I just wish they had gluten-free options so I could experience the deliciousness, too! read more

Got some delivery here when I was dogsitting in Arlington... a meatless veggie sub and a garden salad. They even minded my special requests of no cheese and no mushrooms, and they got it right. The garden salad had iceberg and also some other lettuce, had some good red onions, tomatoes, black olives, and cucumbers. It was a good size and I liked the Italian Dressing that was included... I do believe OPH probably has fine-enough 'za but my One wasn't able to experience it. Here's why: Moey and I went in and the doods here seemed friendly enough and all. Moey ordered a small cheese 'za for herself and a dood quickly "suggested" that she get premade slices instead from the warmer case. He said, "we just made it" and I asked "was it just made right now?" He responded with a nod and a "yes" but I was dubious. She got two slices and it was, you guessed it, old leftover slices that could have been there for hours. You know the drill: coagulated cheese and barely warm and rubberized. A bummer. Come on, bro. I went to Olympic for the second time today. This is the kind of pizzeria that brings me back to my childhood in the 80's and 90's. It's occupies a small corner store front in the heart of East Arlington (Capitol Square) on Mass Ave across Cleveland Street from the Fox library. The pizza crust is Greek style, which I don't usually love, but Olympics crust is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. So good. The sauce is also tastier than the average. The avgolemono soup is pretty decent, and my kids and I love the rice pudding. Still planning to get the eggplant parmigiana since I saw them making it from scratch one day. As my ideal pizza has a softer (not cracker-y!) crust and much tasty cheese, Olympic indeed filled the bill. I wanted more sauce, but, overall, this was my DREAM pizza texture (finally!). Fair flavor balance as well, though we kept it simple with pepperoni, tomatoes, and green peppers. Best of all, these folks have EXCELLENT frosted cake slices. Both the chocolate and carrot were gloriously sweet, with the chocolate having a nice mousse thing goin' on between the layers. I want to write a review not just to make this place look good , but to let the fellow yelpers know that this place deserves more than a 3 star :-( and that they can be sure to order food from here and be satisfied. I work across the place and get lunch and dinner-to-go all the time. I don't remember the last time when I ordered something and it wasn't good. Be it eggplant parm, chicken parm, pizza, subs, wraps, French fries, calzones, gyro, salads--they do a very good job. I have been working at this office for over 2 years, so I guess I have pretty much ordered a variety of stuff .I have also noticed that the food here is way fresher than some of the other restaurants around. I have so many times customized my orders and they make sure they confirm the order twice before they start prepping and have not screwed up(most of the times).. A must try is the Greek pizza and the buffalo chicken pizza (this is not just my fav, but I know so many colleagues who order this all the time). The chicken gyros are good too and the Tzatziki sauce I felt was fresh too. I would definitely suggest to give this place a try and I am sure you will like it too !!!! read more

I ordered a pizza here for delivery a week or so ago. I got a chicken broccoli alfredo pizza and added onions. It wasn't bad but I was fairly underwhelmed. The sauce tasted like it came from a jar and was excessively salty. I also thought the dough was a little undercooked. I ended up putting it in the oven for a few minutes to crisp up the crust before I ate it. I will say, they really load on the toppings. There were tons of chunks of chicken and the broccoli seemed fresh. Delivery was quick and cheap. I wouldn't order that pizza again, but I'd be willing to give other foods there a try. read more

Olympic is my regular pizza place - I wouldn't have thought to review them, but I happened to see the reviews below and figured they deserved a fair shake from a satisfied customer! Personally, I love greek style pizza, since it's what I grew up on. Olympic does a great job with it. Their sauce has a nice full flavor that I often miss in other pizzas, and keeps me coming back. They generally cook the pies well, and have a happy medium between crisp and chewy crust. It's not gourmet - if you want that try Za. :) But it is pretty consistent, and quite tasty. We generally get a pepperoni / olive / pineapple combo, which if you haven't tried it is way better than it might sound. I'm also partial to their veggie special which has a lot of nice stuff on it including fried eggplant slices, fresh tomato, and spinach. I find the staff pleasant and I've never had a problem with their delivery service in the 11 years I've been living nearby. read more

I ordered a single slice of cheese and found it to be delicious. The tomato sauce was on the sweet side, which I really like. Lots of oregano and a perfect not too doughy, not too crispy crust. I was driving down Restaurant Row looking for a quick takeout that wasn't just a slice. I parked in the first spot I could find and ran into Olympic Pizza. Their menu has the typical Greek pizza shop stuff. Lots of subs, pizza, fries, salads, etc. I got the chicken caesar salad wrap and small fries. The wrap was HUGE and delicious, though a bit messy at the end, where all the dressing pooled. The fries were not to my taste - they were the super crispy kind - but my boyfriend loved them. Prices are great. My giant wrap was $6 and a big portion of fries (enough to share) was $3. A huge meal for under $10. The guys behind the counter were very polite. There are some sit-down tables, but looks like most of the business is take-away. read more

$6 take out specials for good pizza! Next day, it's still good. That's how I judge a pizza. They remember who you are if you are fun and have a personality. Whenever I have a good day, I top it off with a pizza (extra sauce, lightly undercooked or "Blonde"). Did I mention SIX DOLLARS? Fugetaboutit! Such a deal. Steak and cheese sub was decent. Absolutely love this place! Good Greek pizza, good subs, good fries and good portions. The prices are great compared to many of the pizza locations in the area. They do have good deals, in particular the $5 cheese pizza (not sure if it's still active), but the prices are all very reasonable. The Staff is very nice, always smiling, always polite. Family run, I believe the kids work there as well and actually act like mature and professional young men which you don't get to say too often. Kind of place that they remember you, if your bill is $15.09 they will charge you $15.00. I know it's only 9 cents, but the gesture and the point, nice people that appreciate your business. And it is good every time Food is done relatively quickly and it's not too bad at all cost-wise I've gotten the Buffalo chicken calzone a few times and recommend it Same with their subs. Hands down the worst steak and cheese Ive ever eaten in my life. The steak was chewy and grey, barely cooked. the cheese smelled and tasted like feet. I can only assume it had gone bad but they didnt care. I love this place!! I've been going here since I was a little kid. The cheese pizza isn't the greatest, but I looove their wraps (veggie on whole wheat!) and subs are awesome too. Outstanding service, family owned and run, Prices are great... It's too bad that most of the reviews on here are giving them a bad rep. I'm in Olympic's at least once or twice a week for lunch as I work down the street. There are plenty of other places to go for similar food in east Arlington (Sabatino's is super but pricey, Francesca's sucks, Comella's is alright) but I prefer Olympic Pizza by far. They're always very pleasant, attentive, and they've honestly never gotten my picky-vegetarian orders wrong. LOVE!!
