I was craving good pizza and Armando's popped into my head. I have been to Armando's before and I remember it being really good. I ordered a large cheese and a large pepperoni. I arrived in 20 minutes, and it was ready, exactly on time. Staff was nice in our three sentence conversation. Place screamed old school pizza joint. When I opened the box my first thought was, is this Greek pizza, but it isn't. Pizza was cooked well but something about the cheese looked off. The undercarriage was cooked perfect. The pizza just isn't very good. Sauce was on the sweet side, crust had zero flavor, and the cheese added nothing. I was very disappointed and so was my family. I don't think they did anything wrong, their pizza just isn't for me. I will still go back for the Sicilian, because it is amazing.

This is definitely a local spot with the usual types of pizza place items. They have a huge sheet of Sicilian pizza ready on the side and you can add any toppings on it even for just individual slices. The slice were a great size and had a nice crunch on the bottom. They are CASH ONLY so be prepared and if not there's an atm in the restaurant.

I needed pizza at 9:30 at night and they didn't just have pizza they had delicious Sicilian style pizza. Service was quick and ambiance was what you would expect from a classic pizza and sub shop in MA. Definitely recommend for good pizza.

Sicilian slice and regular cheese slice ($3.50 and $2.25, July 2019)

Only one other party around 12:30PM on a Saturday. Pros: -Both regular and Sicilian slices! -Seating inside Cons -I think it's cash only -- Cheese slice ($2.25) Super crispy, heavy on the cheese. Didn't taste the sauce as much, but we really enjoyed it! Sicilian slice ($3.50) Incredibly cheesy (too much so) and doughy, but had a slight crisp on the bottom and a great garlic flavor. Between the two, we'd pick the regular cheese slice again.

Old school pizza executed perfectly. Welcoming atmosphere as a family run business. Cheese pizza - 5/5. Crispy bottom, soft goey base layer, melty generous cheese. Most importantly, salty heaven sauce. Pepperoni and Onion - 4/5. Recommended by the staff. Great balance between caramelized onions and smoky pepperoni. Growing up in New Jersey, my pizza bar is high. This thin crust style pizza blew me away in a way I haven't felt in a long time. The newspaper clippings on the walls tell the story of an Italian immigrant opening up the restaurant in 1971 and keeping it in the family using the same recipe ever since. There's a genuine sense of community represented by the decades of local baseball sponsorship momentos. Got there at 10:30am on a Saturday and they needed a little bit of time for the oven to heat up so we ate around 11:05am.

Great Italian style local pizza joint. Great Wall decorations and pictures. Cash only. Reminds me of Pino's from childhood.

Our waitress was knowledgeable and gave good food and wine recommendations from the menu. Our party really enjoyed the octopus as it was a tender bite with freshness coming from the peas/mint/cilantro. We also enjoyed the juicy meatballs with tomato sauce and again a hint of freshness and nuttiness coming from the pine nut pesto. We were not crazy about the striped bass crudo. It just seemed to fall flat flavor wise for me maybe not enough salt or acid to really counter balance the other fresh clean flavors in the dish. That being said it was not bad just underwhelming. The pizzas were great value price wise and the flavor combinations were unique but also worked well with one another. I liked how they didn't shy away from using spicy peppers on the Nduja pizza. The Fennel Sausage pizza had that fattiness from the sausage mixed with acidity from the cherry peppers and some creaminess/extra layer of flavor with the green garlic cream sauce. I somewhat wish the pizza bottom was baked slightly longer for a less floppy center but that's just personal preference. They clearly put a lot of effort into this pizza recipe. The only critique we would have is the service seemed a bit rushed. We would have enjoyed a bit more time between appetizers and the mains. Even the check came pretty shortly after we finished which would be understandable on a busy weekend night but this was a Tuesday evening and there seemed to be plenty of empty tables around us. Other than that would recommend for an elevated night out!

I got the after school snack cocktail which was very refreshing and paired nicely with the meal. We split the Bucatini Verde and it was so delicious. I couldn't even pinpoint the flavors I was eating but it was amazing. Fresh pasta and just really good flavor. We saw a dish online we wanted, but the server explained they use that pasta for different dishes and change out the sauce, so I'm glad I got to try it. We then split the Pepperoni + Vodka Sauce pizza which was good. I'll be honest I was a tad disappointed in the pizza. It was flavorful but I think I was expecting the same feeling I got when I had the pasta. It was good, but just that, good. Crust was a little burnt. I did love the vibes and pasta and it's definitely known in Cambridge for a good reason. I'd recommend a reservation if you'd like a table as it does fill up fast.

My go-tos are the mushroom pie and clam pie, both of which are super flavorful and made with high-quality ingredients. The service was poor from the start. The waitress told us we would be seated at the bar. She rolled her eyes and appeared visibly annoyed when I asked if it was okay that my sister was under 21. She said it was fine as long as we didn't order drinks, then seated us at the bar. We were only given drink menus. When the bartender came over to take our order, I had to ask for a food menu myself. Our seating was also uncomfortable. We were placed right next to the bar/server station. My sister got splashed when drinks were being opened, and servers repeatedly bumped into her chair while passing. We ordered the Carnivore pizza. The pizza itself was quite salty. The dough was decent, but not impressive. I kept trying to convince myself it was good, but it fell short. Pizza: 3/5 Service: 2/5 Atmosphere: 3/5 Would I return? No. Overall, I was surprised by the 4.4 rating. My expectations were much higher based on the reviews.
