A late update with many pics. My wife and I were working a mile from here for a few months. We ate here at least 4 days a week and we tried quite a few different dishes and found some that we had to keep eating verses trying new ones. We couldn't get enough of the Kati Roll, Shahi curry, Pani Puri and Dehli Chaat, everything was great but those were our repeats. Lunch special at least once a week too. We still go but it's a bit far but worth the trip.

This place is really good. I've come here quite a few times and brought a decent amount of friends for the Indian food experience and Om bistro delivers this experience pretty well. Evenings can get pretty busy and a bit chaotic, but if you're patient, you'll be served with really good food. This time around we started off with the Bhelpuri and Gobi Manchurian. This has always been a crowd favorite for me and my friends especially when it's their first times trying it. For the main we split palak paneer and garlic naan which was super good. Their garlic naan is literally the best in the Phoenix Valley. The paneer was delicious, and I really liked the texture as it wasn't way too creamy or way too chunky, it was just perfectly done. Also not to forget to mention is the mango lassi, a nice and thick and well balanced sweetness with mango and yogurt tart flavor. The one downside that we had this evening was that they forgot our rice, and we didn't realize until the end of the meal and then did not ask because it was pretty chaotic with tons of people dining in actively getting orders.

Wide selection of Indian snacks and main dishes. The portions are quite large so it is great for families. What stood out was their paper dosas that were quite literally too big for the table. They could easily feed two people. The food was fresh and tasted good, would definitely return. It is definitely more of a casual eatery. Orders are taken at the register and are called out when ready so since we ordered multiple dishes they all came out at separate time.

The main problem with this restaurant are the associates who assist customers. I have seen multiple instances of customer fighting with the servers. And also personally experienced that they don't welcome any coupon/voucher whole heartedly. Their face will be frowned if you show any voucher, although management offers voucher on 'DiningAdvantage' to attract customers. Regarding the food - They are reasonably cheap and offer variety of indian snacks and vegetarian food. Not so great and authentic but not bad as well. I have mixed reviews for them since few things are good but not all.

Excellent vegetarian/vegan options, food is always super well flavored. I only wish they would bring back the baingan bharta.

Never order dosas on Wednesdays. They give you cold, sour, soggy dosas made with leftover batter from the Tuesday dosa specials.

Everything is clean and well-kept, bathrooms included. The chicken tikka masala is phenomenal--tender chicken in a perfectly spiced, flavor-packed sauce. The vegetable samosas are some of the best I've ever had, especially with their mint chutney, which deserves its own round of applause. I got a little excited and ate one samosa before remembering I needed a picture. Thankfully, I saved one for Yelp. And the garlic naan?! Crispy around the edges, soft and perfectly chewy, loaded with garlic and cilantro. I actually ate the leftovers the NEXT DAY. If you know me, that carries significant weight because I do not do leftovers. I literally carried that naan around until every last piece was gone. The people running the restaurant are incredibly kind and welcoming, and the service has been wonderful both visits. I've tried a LOT of Indian food, and this is easily one of my favorites. Anytime I'm back in Scottsdale, I'm coming back. The naan and mint chutney alone have secured my return.

So much so that I will be going to other restaurants from now on. Also, I did not receive the naan in my to go bag that I ordered and paid for. Sorry! I wanted to love it.

One of my favorite restaurants for AUTHENTIC Tamil food in the valley. There aren't too many Tamil…read morerestaurants in the Phx Metro area. This and Thirukuppusamy's in Chandler are the only two. If you are from North Phoenix or West Valley, this is the closet place to get a MEAN dosa. All of the South Indian food is great here. If you come here and expect a good Butter Chicken, lol. Order South Indian food and you won't be disappointed. The food at Chennai Cafe is salty, spicey, and tangy. It's got a good mix of all the flavors that remind me of home. I specifically get the Thali meals. These meals have a bit of every curry that is made that day. Usually split between 2 veg curries, 2 nonveg curries, rice, naan (roti), yogurt, and a dessert. All the curries were excellent. I couldn't eat the entire thali as the quantity of food will put you to sleep, so I ate all the meat stuff with the rice and bread and took all the vegetarian/dessert stuff home. Service is typical Indian restaurant, bunch of dudes standing around. You'll have to flag them down anytime you want something. Don't be shy to do so! That's how you do it at an Indian restaurant. Ambiance is typical no-frills Indian restaurant. Don't expect white glove treatment here. Small dining room area with chairs pretty close to each other. However, know what you are going to order and it'll come out fresh and spicy. Definitely an all time favorite for me in the Valley.

When we arrived the employee told us it was a 15 minute wait and asked for our name and phone number. We looked forward to our meal and so after we gave our information and then left to walk around until we received the call. After about 15 minutes we got a call at 1:37pm that our table was ready. It took us about 3-4 minutes to walk back and we were promptly seated. I was happy to see that there were real plates unlike the paper plates we had to use the last time. I filled my plate and while it was just as good as the last time we were there I quickly remembered how spicy the food is. I sat with my plate of food as I made it through the spicy but otherwise tasty food. Not everything was hot. Some of the food even though presented on heated elements was actually slightly cold. When they cleared the table of our dirty plates I asked them to leave our water cups and the water pitcher which was still 1/3 filled as my mouth was still recovering from the heat/spiciness. Then to my surprise one of the employees approached our table and told us people were waiting and wanting us to leave. I have never felt so insulted by a merchant or dining establishment. We still hadnt drunk our water and I had paid the bill at 2:02pm so it hadnt even been 30 minutes since we were sat for our meal. If you don't mind being rushed during your meal then this is the place for you!
