I've been coming to this spot for over 17 years. I ordered a chili Colorado burrito I was in my faze of ordering the same thing every week for about a month until one day i ordered the same burrito when twice this happened they forgot to strain the chilies in the sauce and pieces of the chili that should be in the trash covered the burrito almost making my son and I choke. I showed the young men at the time what the cook forgot to stain. I was embarrassed for them. When she said to me little I explained him that's not spices I cooked Chile Colorado and that should be thrown away. The kids that was at the register was so angry with me. I was so shocked! The menu is straight forward; tacos, burritos, quesadillas, etc., choose your meat and eat! Prices are extremely reasonable. There's no indoor seating; covered picnic benches only and you can get the occasional bum looking for a handout, but overall it's pretty safe. There's a small parking lot and some street parking. The fish tacos were a big servings of a mush of tilapia with cabbage, raw onions, crema and pico de gallo. The fish taco tortillas are dipped in oil super packed with the fish mush. The tortillas are really good and homemade. The carne asada has me stumped. The tortillas for the beef tacos were dipped in a tomato based salsa, so the tortillas were red from being dipped in the salsa. The beef serving in the taco was big, but a bit gristly. It did not come with any cabbage, so next time I.m going to ask for pico in my taco. My family enjoyed the carne burritto and the chile verde burritos. The size of the burritos are not enormous, like some other places, but just the right size for a regular portion, and $5,00 you won't find a better burritto. I cannot believe I haven't written a review for this place yet. Perhaps it's because I'm always busy eating the well seasoned authentic Mexican food here at Omana's. All of their meats here taste so god damn good. Carne Asada, carnitas, buches, lengua, you name it. Portions are generous, beans are delicious and not overly mashed, salsas are well balanced. The rice tastes authentic but I think it has too much moisture content. Also, the price is just right for any taco lover. I come here any time I crave Mexican food even though the neighborhood is a bit sketchy. If I die any time soon, I will die happy having eaten at Omana's before.
