CASH ONLY, so be prepared. Looks can be deceiving...this little hole-in-the-wall is the best taco shop around. The menu is straight forward; tacos, burritos, quesadillas, etc., choose your meat and eat! Prices are extremely reasonable. There's no indoor seating; covered picnic benches only and you can get the occasional bum looking for a handout, but overall it's pretty safe. There's a small parking lot and some street parking. Most people order to go, so we've never had an issue finding a spot close by. Highly recommend you give it a try. read more

Me and my boyfriend came to Pomona for the drag races. We're from San Diego (the Mecca of Mexican food) and were looking for good Mexican food in the area. We were recommended this place, so we went. Price 5, Food 4, Ambience Zero. Ordered the fish tacos, carne asada tacos, carne asada and chili verde burrittos. Everything was good! The fish tacos were a big servings of a mush of tilapia with cabbage, raw onions, crema and pico de gallo. The fish taco tortillas are dipped in oil super packed with the fish mush. The tortillas are really good and homemade. The carne asada has me stumped. The tortillas for the beef tacos were dipped in a tomato based salsa, so the tortillas were red from being dipped in the salsa. The beef serving in the taco was big, but a bit gristly. It did not come with any cabbage, so next time I.m going to ask for pico in my taco. My family enjoyed the carne burritto and the chile verde burritos. The size of the burritos are not enormous, like some other places, but just the right size for a regular portion, and $5,00 you won't find a better burritto. Great food. We get asada nachos every time. Whenever we get them elsewhere we are always comparing to Omanas and they are never as good. LOVE the chili verde and shrimp burritos and tacos. I cannot believe I haven't written a review for this place yet. Perhaps it's because I'm always busy eating the well seasoned authentic Mexican food here at Omana's. All of their meats here taste so god damn good. Carne Asada, carnitas, buches, lengua, you name it. Portions are generous, beans are delicious and not overly mashed, salsas are well balanced. The rice tastes authentic but I think it has too much moisture content. Also, the price is just right for any taco lover. I come here any time I crave Mexican food even though the neighborhood is a bit sketchy. If I die any time soon, I will die happy having eaten at Omana's before.
