Omaniku...oh man, where to start. It's tucked away in a Sheraton hotel; we went on a Monday night and there was only one other table serviced the entire time we were there. Felt like a private dining experience. We ordered one seafood menu and one beef menu and EVERY. DISH. WAS. 100/100! From the presentation, to the flavors, to the service - it was delectable! We added the Bone Marrow Rice and it was a hit. Soft yet crunchy hot rice in a clay pot, glossy fattening bone marrow, tender meat and a raw egg...what's not to love? The seared scallop with truffle butter was a delicious dish. The scallop was seared perfectly with a soft moist tender inside. The Unicrab was a close runner-up. I love uni and this dish was fresh, soft and buttery. The cold ice presentation was pretty cool too. Service was great, there was always someone near by to help answer questions and food came out promptly. If you enjoy eating fatty, tender meat and seafood and have a healthy liver, good cholesterol levels, or a low lipid panel...this is a must try.

It is a nice restaurant with the right ambiance. Drinks are good and the bartender was so attentive. As for the food, between meat and seafood, I would recommend to pick seafood over the meat as it is too overwhelming with no dish to cleanse your palette or vegetables dishes. The sauces were used tasted the same for almost all of them. As for the seafood, I would say the shrimp and the lobster were overcooked a bit. The spaghetti was very lacking in term of flavor and dry. Overall, if you're there for the alcohol then it is worth it.

Came here to celebrate a birthday with a reservation. At $128 for 11 courses, pretty reasonable. However, it was hit or miss for both the beef and seafood. Some courses were oddly more salty than others. If I had to pick between the two, I think seafood edges out the beef course, as the beef tended to be saltier more often. I don't recommend drinks, as they weren't memorable, and it's a separate check (served from the Sheraton bar) Got a chawanmushi on the house for SO's birthday. It was probably our fave thing - so silky, tasty, and hearty. 1. BUTTERFLY YUZU CLEANSER: Butterfly Pea Flower Tea blended with Japanese Yuzu. This is always a refreshing palette cleanser 2. UNIniku "Gold" Grade Beef Tartare with Truffle-Infused Yakiniku, Crispy Nori, and Fresh Uni. SO liked this beef more than the Seafood version which was topped with Dungeness Crab, which was more fishy than I would've liked. I did very much like the way it was served in a bowl of liquid nitrogen - that was quite cool. 3. a5 wagyu amuse A5 Wagyu Tartare served with in-house Ponzu Jelly. 3. seasonal oyster, ponzu jelly Fresh Seasonal Oyster topped with Delicate Ponzu Jelly. Small but tasty 4. SRF "GOLD" Outside Skirt, Ponzu sauce Snake River Farms Gold Grade Outside Skirt Finished with Ponzu 4. tiger prawns, Tangy mayo Seared Tiger Prawns served with Tangy Mayo. sizeable shrimps! yummy 5. srf "Gold" Short Rib, boursin yakiniku Gold Grade American Wagyu Short Rib with Boursin Yakiniku. we liked the boursin more than the meat... 5. Branzino, tomato sauce Branzino paired with a Tomato White Wine Reduction: crispy and yummy! 6. Celadon Trinity Ponzu Marinated Spring Mix with sliced Cucumber, Tomato, & Bamboo Shoots. Super refreshing, and one of our fave course. 7. seared scallops, truffle butter Pan-Seared Scallop served with Rich Truffle Butter and Crispy Garlic Toast. toast was yummy, scallop was pretty good too. Truffle butter on the saltier side. 8. SRF "GOLD" Ribeye Inside, Bordelaise Gold Grade American Wagyu Ribeye Inside Cut served with Bordelaise Sauce: not memorable 8. lobster tail, compound butter Lobster Tail served with Compound Butter (cooked with various spices): pretty good! 9. a5 wagyu, goma sauce Japanese A5 Wagyu paired with Nutty Sesame Goma Dressing 9. crab cake Savory Fried Crab Cake served with Snow Pea Purée. not impressed by this; also fishier than I would've liked 10. Bone marrow rice Rich Bone Marrow Rice Topped with Prime Beef, Egg Yolk, & Crispy Nori. saltyyyy 10. Creamy pasta Rich and Creamy Spaghetti Noodle topped with Snow Crab. Less heavy, compared to the bone marrow rice. i liked it! 11. Mango pudding Light and Refreshing Mango Pudding topped with Fresh Fruits and Mint. Tasty! Birthday dessert was a frozen version of the mango pudding with an artistic cherry blossom tree made with chocolate/matcha powders. so cool! Service was fast and friendly. I would recommend others to try this place, especially for an occasion - more so for the experience than for the food. Parking was validated and easy.

Omaniku is a fine dining restaurant located in the Sheraton hotel in San Gabriel. Guests have the option between a beef or seafood tasting menu. We came as a party of 9 for my friend's birthday and all opted for the beef - the Omaniku tasting course. We were seated in a private room. It was relatively quiet with few other guests. The ambiance didn't feel quite right. I felt like I was sitting in a hotel lobby or an office conference room as opposed to a luxury restaurant. The lighting was a bit too bright, and the table, made up of several other tables with a tablecloth on top, had several bumps and gaps.  I started with a Tokyo Night cocktail from the bar, which set me back $18. Sake base with grapefruit, grated ginger, nutmeg, and sparkling water. It was good. Sweet and refreshing with a strong rice wine flavor. The actual meal left me disappointed. It started strong enough. First, we had the Butterfly Yuzu Cleanser, a palate cleanser made of butterfly pea flower and yuzu. Then, our servers brought each of us an ornate black sphere. Opening it revealed a cloud of mist and a "one bite" beef tartare topped with uni and served on a nori cracker. The uni was fresh and buttery and melded beautifully with the raw beef. The nori gave a nice surprising crispness. The A5 Amuse was good too - more beef tartare served on a "one bite" spoon with truffle jelly. For me, the meal reached its peak here. I found fault with the remaining courses in one way or another whether it be their flavor pairing or quality of cooking. The next dish for example, the USDA prime skirt, was cooked tenderly, but its natural juiciness and aroma were vastly overpowered by the ponzu sauce and onion. The ponzu was very tangy. The onion was sweet, caramelized, and biting. All together, however, it was too much and the meat did not shine. In addition, there was too much onion. In terms of volume, I felt like there was more onion than meat on the plate. The chive on top was just overkill. Next was the short rib, which was largely unimpressive. The meat itself tasted bland with most of the flavor coming from the dill garnish. In this dish, the eggplant, which should have just been a side, outshined the beef. The vegetable trio dish was refreshing. I liked the pickled bamboo shoot and the tangy sauce. The green beans kinda just tasted like cold green beans. We then received a crab chawanmushi on the house because it was my friend's birthday. It was one of the better dishes of the night. The egg was silky, warm, and filling. The broth was umami and delicious. Then, we were each served an overcooked scallop with a side of garlic bread. The scallop was very disappointing. It was tiny. The texture was all wrong - mealy, stringy, and tough. It did not taste fresh. I was not getting truffle from the truffle butter. The broth and scallop were bland. The best thing on the plate was the garlic bread. The ribeye was fine. I don't remember much about it other than it was served with a Bordelaise sauce. The A5 Wagyu with goma sauce was.. Fine. Objectively, it tasted good. But when I compare it to similar dishes I've had, I wasn't too impressed. I think it was slightly overcooked as the edges were a bit charred. It was not as tender and buttery of a bite as I was expecting for A5 Wagyu. The bone marrow rice was a huge let down. I don't know why they chose to sear the bone marrow. It looked dry before they even began mixing it. I did not taste the bone marrow in the rice. I was expecting a fatty richness to coat the grains of rice, but I did not get that at all.  Mango pudding was good. At $128 per person, this tasting menu is definitely expensive. Was the food disgusting? No. It was decent. But at this price, I was expecting so much more and was severely disappointed

Omaniku was awesome. The food was incredible, especially the wagyu, and the service made the whole experience even better

First time here last night and it was to celebrate my birthday!!!... what an amazing experience. The staff was super friendly, food was so elegant and delicious (Highly recommend the omakase courses!!!) , the ambience was upscale and relaxing.. although they don't have a strict dress code and welcome everyone.. you see people dressed to impress when dining here.. But what made this experience memorable was their superior service.. Our server Jenny was so delightful, sweet, and kind! We got to know our server a little and you can tell she was dedicated.. thank you again to Jenny and the entire staff for making my birthday unforgettable!!

12/21/2025 - Decided to take an Omaniku Seafood Menu $128 with 11 courses. Every course is 5 stars excluding Branzino /Tomato Sauce and Zucchini Aioli - Branzino, in my opinion, should be placed with skin facing up so that a crispy skin will not be soggy or soft, which ruined a tasting characteristics. Also, Seared Scallop, Truffle Butter, is 4 stars because the size is too small in comparison to a large size (yummy or wow) in the past - blame the wage increase or inflation, etc. Zucchini Aioli is fine, which is just a dish for transitioning to three seafood courses soon. The last course Mango Pudding was replaced with a holiday special chocolate cake, but I prefer to have a Mango Pudding as desert! The ambience is excellent - see some photos for details - This restaurant is an idea venue for your special occasion celebration or dating, etc. The restaurant will give you a 3-hour validation parking for free under the Sheraton Los Angeles San Gabriel underground parking lot. Special note: For the entire 2-hour dining, I noticed that no one ordered any cocktails from the Bar area that belongs to the Sheraton hotel. That's common in Asian communities. As a result, the restaurant may consider to offer a 50% discount for a cocktail if a diner will stay at the hotel by working with the hotel for a reimbursement - that is a Win-Win situation.

This restaurant was highly recommend recommended by a friend to us. And maybe it's because we just dined at Yakiya few days ago, we can with high expectation as they also market themselves as an high-end restaurant and their course menu price is the same as Yakiya. Our first impression as we walk into the restaurant is great. It's a beautiful restaurant with great ambience. After we are seated, we then realize all of the servicing staff that we have encountered our lack of professional training for supposedly a high-end restaurant. Staff from the bar were walking back-and-forth with buckets & and drop off a bar menu on our table on his way to the kitchen. The first course was presented beautifully because of the dry ice show, but we noticed the waitress seemed rushed when introducing the dish. After we finish one of the dish, a waiter came to clear our table. Before he remove my plate, he lifted my used fork, dropped the tip of the fork to the rim of the plate gently twice making 2 ding ding sounds and then set my used fork on top of my knife with rest of my utensils. I wonder why he would do that? Every dish was introduced hurriedly with cold faces from different servicing staffs. I can feel they really wanted to drop the plate, say what they need to say and rush to go back to where they prefer to be. It just feels really unwelcoming. The food is OK for the price we paid, but I was not impressed by their food. The worst part of the dining experience was you can hear kitchen staff talking loudly to each other even when the music is pretty loud and I was sitting pretty far away closer to the bar. That's the reason why can only give this Restaurant a 1 star rating. I even recorded a video of the kitchen staffs talking loudly in this empty restaurant on a Saturday night & shared it to the friend who recommended this restaurant. For this price and this kind of experience, I will never go back again.

My friend took me here for my birthday. The reservation was for lunch around 12pm on a Sunday. There is a good amount of street parking around and it's located inside the Sheraton San Gabriel hotel. There was no wait and maybe one other table when we arrived. The decor and interior are very nice and welcoming. I ordered the seafood tasting course and my bestie ordered the regular tasting course. I really enjoyed the uni crab and Wellington sea bass. I liked the bone marrow rice more from the regular tasting course over the one from the seafood but both menus are very good. Service was overall good and accommodating to my bestie who was pregnant to make sure everything fit the dietary needs. The lemon cheesecake at the end was definitely the most beautiful and shoe shopping. It actually also tasted very nice. Light and lemony so it was more refreshing than decadent. I enjoyed it here and the tasting course is more a special occasion type of thing for me, still reasonably priced for the quality and presentation.

It's been awhile since we've been back and this time we got the be beef 11-course meal. We started with Uni over tartare and the presentation was beautiful. I've never seen a bigger Uni, and we had 2 on our plate! Everything was amazingly delicious and service was perfect. We came during the day this time and had the chance to admire the interior space and decor. This place is perfect for a romantic date.
