The happy hour menu has a lot of variety and some really good options. I wasn't a huge fan of the cheese grits, but the Brussels sprouts, fish and chips, and pasta were all great. The pasta was creamy and flavorful, and I'd recommend getting all the protein options on it. The fish and chips portion was pretty big, so it's definitely shareable between 2 to 3 people. The Brussels sprouts were probably my favorite, especially with the bacon bits and cheese on top. The ambience was really nice with a full bar, and our server was very attentive throughout the visit. Had a great experience yesterday at the Dive. We sat at the bar as we had a dinner reservation down the street and arrived super early with time to kill. Hallelujah~ I finally found my raw bar fix in the 626! Whenever I crave raw oysters, I'll be heading straight to the teapot fountain. Even better, when I'm craving a good pan roast, there's no need to go to Vegas Palace Station anymore because this place absolutely hits the spot. Loved the raw bar I'll skip the truffle fries next visit cuz I'm curious to try the bouillabaisse, clam chowder, lobster roll, and kids mac & cheese or kids pan roast pasta for my daughter. We came back here during Dine LA event. We had the (1) lobster roll and (2) chicken and sausage pan roast as main entrees. For appetizers, we had Brussels sprouts and salad. Everything was delicious. The lobster roll comes with regular fries or seasoned fries. We had seasoned fries. The pan roast comes with your choice of spicy level. Depending on your taste, you can have it very spicy or none at all. The flavor of the pan roast was very good. I had mine medium spicy level. The Dive in Temple City was a spot I'd written off after a lackluster first visit. Went back recently and I'm glad I did. We tried a variety of oysters this time. They all sounded pretty similar, but the slightly more expensive ones were better. Looking back, my first visit was for happy hour oysters, so they probably weren't the freshest batch. We also got hot, crispy fish and chips, and steamed clams and mussels. The standout was the Bouillabaisse, recommended by our waiter over the cioppino. Great call, the broth was delightful and well balanced with just the right amount of spice. We went on a Saturday night and the vibe was a pleasant surprise. Live DJ spinning R&B and throwbacks, fun energetic atmosphere, and drinks that were surprisingly affordable compared to a few cities over in Pasadena. Glad we gave it another shot. I ordered the Mac n' chowder, and it was a perfect mixture of clam chowder and Mac n cheese in a bread bowl. It was definitely a unique dish! The rest of my party ordered the traditional pan roast with assorted seafood, and after tasting it, I wished I had more room in my stomach! We got seated right away but the male server (the Vietnamese one) didn't even acknowledge us nor gave us a menu not until we asked for it. He just pointed the QR code in a rude way. It's not the famous Oyster Bar in Palace Station in Las Vegas BUT it will give you the fix when the pan roast and gumbo cravings kick in. The gumbo is closer to a pan roast as it is more red ca the dark roux I am used to, but like I said...it does the job. Chicken pieces are smaller while sausage pieces are cut bigger so it's not an exact copy to Palace Station. Broth is also a lot more oily. To be fair, I ordered thru Uber Eats so could be a different experience for dine in, but I did still find it to be very flavorful. If I had nothing to compare it to, I'd say AMAZING. I ate my fries from the fish and chips and the sandwich. Bomb! The salad was delish, it was topped with tomatoes, onions, and a sweet vinaigrette. Topped everything off with an Arnold Palmer. DineLA once again brought us to this seafood spot, perhaps the only American restaurant in a predominantly Asian outdoor shopping centre that includes the famous Bistro Na's. I was and still am interested in trying their Happy Hour, which has good deals. They had a DineLA lunch and dinner menu; we did the 2-course lunch (starter and main). We came at opening time and there was only 1 person in front and 1 in the open kitchen. There were 2 parties and someone making a large to-go order, so it took awhile for the server to do everything--seat people, take orders, make cocktails and bring drinks and food. etc. Later more workers came and he was able to catch up. Our 2 starters were the Cajun truffle fries and shrimp and grits. Shrimp and grits are usually a main, but this smaller version was very good--4 shrimp atop grits with andouille sausage, bacon, green onions, cheeses and the trinity (bell pepper, onion, celery). The fries had Cajun spice, parmesan and truffle oil. Our mains were the chicken and sausage pan roast and the fried catfish po'boy. The pan roasts here have a tomato seafood bisque base, served with the trinity and either rice or pasta. Their house pan roast with seafood was an upcharge for DineLA. The po'boy was delish, a large well-fried piece of catfish (you can get it blackened too) served on a toasted French roll with molasses mustard, remoulade, sauteed trinity, lettuce and tomato. Been coming to The Dive for many years now. Great seafood spot to catch up with friends, share drinks, bites, and they have some pretty great pan roast. The shareables are tapas sized, and the drinks are really tasty. Fully stocked bar with many cocktail options (I like the old fashioned). Some draft beer selections including local beer (ogopogo). The star of the show is their pan roast, very buttery, creamy and perfect during cold weather. The decor inside is very modern, they have chefs cooking up the pan roast in front of you if you sit at the counter. On Fridays, they have a DJ playing good tunes. Prices are somewhat reasonable, a bit on the pricier side and enjoying many drinks and shareables can start adding up. The oysters are very tasty and fresh, no complaints (though can be pricey). My favorite is the kumamoto ($48 for a dozen). I've came on multiple occasions, one time during the dodgers game and it was somewhat lively. They do have happy hour everyday from 3:00 to 6:30 pm, as well as late night happy hour that has a different schedule based on the weekends--Monday to Thursday 8:30 to 10:00 pm, Friday & Saturday 10:00 to 11:30 pm, and Sunday 8:30 to 10:00 pm.
