I ordered the Mac n' chowder, and it was a perfect mixture of clam chowder and Mac n cheese in a bread bowl. It was definitely a unique dish! The rest of my party ordered the traditional pan roast with assorted seafood, and after tasting it, I wished I had more room in my stomach! While I don't eat oysters, everyone else did and I heard nothing but good things. They even ordered another dozen (for a total of 3 dozen)! Service was fantastic. We were also able to call and get our names down for a reservation, which I'm glad we did since it started getting very crowded with a long wait during dinner time. As fate would have it, I ate here with my parents instead of the originally intended dinner destination, Baek Jeong. Because the wait time was too long for that, we decided to try The Dive Oyster Bar -- and man are we sure glad we did. We got a total of five items: a bowl of clam chowder, the soft shell crab appetizer, the roasta, the traditional pan roast with the house speciality protein (with the crab on the side because of my dad's crab allergy), and the jambalaya, which for the last three we ate with medium heat. We shared everything (except for the crab appetizer because, again, crab allergy for dad) and found the food to be delicious, with each entree coming out tasting better than the last. Personally, the roasta was my favorite with the pan roast as a close second. Very flavorful dishes with medium heat being a good level for us (wasn't spicy for our Korean palates). Service was great, our server (unfortunately forgot his name) was attentive and quick with our requests, and although he forgot a side of rice, it was for the best as the food had settled in our stomachs by then and we were content with what we ordered. The restaurant itself is well maintained with ample table space and appropriate lighting, though the music from the evening DJ was a tad bit too loud to hear from across the table. Haven't been to the Dive in a while and I decided to drop by for a business dinner. We got plenty of appetizers and two entrees share. Out of the appetizers, the sprouts was the one that surprised me the most. The bacon and seasoning complement the baked Brussels sprouts perfectly. The calamari was whatever, I felt it was too battery for my personal liking but my friend loved it. The oysters were smaller than what I usually get from other restaurant but it still hit the spot. Our server was helpful with ordering to our individual demands and very attentive. She even graciously stored our ice cream cake and helped provide everything we needed to serve it after our meal. We got seated right away but the male server (the Vietnamese one) didn't even acknowledge us nor gave us a menu not until we asked for it. He just pointed the QR code in a rude way. The average us 3 and that is all I can give this place. We came for happy hour, but the small plates just weren't a good value. Getting only six clams and four mussels for the price was disappointing. The oysters were okay, and the scallops definitely weren't worth what they charged. The environment is family-friendly, with several tables occupied by kids and families. Just be aware that the music and overall noise level are fairly loud. DineLA once again brought us to this seafood spot, perhaps the only American restaurant in a predominantly Asian outdoor shopping centre that includes the famous Bistro Na's. I was and still am interested in trying their Happy Hour, which has good deals. They had a DineLA lunch and dinner menu; we did the 2-course lunch (starter and main). We came at opening time and there was only 1 person in front and 1 in the open kitchen. There were 2 parties and someone making a large to-go order, so it took awhile for the server to do everything--seat people, take orders, make cocktails and bring drinks and food. etc. Later more workers came and he was able to catch up. Our 2 starters were the Cajun truffle fries and shrimp and grits. Shrimp and grits are usually a main, but this smaller version was very good--4 shrimp atop grits with andouille sausage, bacon, green onions, cheeses and the trinity (bell pepper, onion, celery). The fries had Cajun spice, parmesan and truffle oil. Our mains were the chicken and sausage pan roast and the fried catfish po'boy. The pan roasts here have a tomato seafood bisque base, served with the trinity and either rice or pasta. Their house pan roast with seafood was an upcharge for DineLA. Been coming to The Dive for many years now. Great seafood spot to catch up with friends, share drinks, bites, and they have some pretty great pan roast. The shareables are tapas sized, and the drinks are really tasty. Fully stocked bar with many cocktail options (I like the old fashioned). Some draft beer selections including local beer (ogopogo). The star of the show is their pan roast, very buttery, creamy and perfect during cold weather. The decor inside is very modern, they have chefs cooking up the pan roast in front of you if you sit at the counter. On Fridays, they have a DJ playing good tunes. Prices are somewhat reasonable, a bit on the pricier side and enjoying many drinks and shareables can start adding up. The oysters are very tasty and fresh, no complaints (though can be pricey). My favorite is the kumamoto ($48 for a dozen). I've came on multiple occasions, one time during the dodgers game and it was somewhat lively. They do have happy hour everyday from 3:00 to 6:30 pm, as well as late night happy hour that has a different schedule based on the weekends--Monday to Thursday 8:30 to 10:00 pm, Friday & Saturday 10:00 to 11:30 pm, and Sunday 8:30 to 10:00 pm. You can find the latest schedule and menu on their website, which they also have QR codes on tables for. They extend their summer 2025 dinela menu to 8/15 so got the chance to stop by for $25 lunch set menu. The houses pecial pan roast (added $5 for seafood upgrade, reg price $29) is indeed a must try.
