If you want good Uzbeky food this is the place for you. The food was very good, everything was seasoned well, waiters very attentive and helpful. Please note the portion are large so don't order too much, unless you want leftovers for the next day. Salads very tasty especially the beef tongue and tomatoes. The kebabs were great (liver, beef, lamb ribs and chicken) but just a little too salty for my taste but great non the less. Borscht, home made potatoes with herring on par, and the little samsa was to die for. Great food, good ambiance and very reasonable prices. Down side, you will not get a table on the weekends with out a prior reservation. If you ask why not 5 stars, that's because 5 stars are for the very best places I visit, but this place is a solid 4.5 stars all around. The place is new but it's absolutely amazing!!! The food is awesome, fresh and tasty, the place is really clean, nice and has very nice interior decor. It's always packed so the service is kind of slow. I feel they are understaffed. But everybody is super nice. I just discovered this place not too long ago. I was really disappointed when my usual spot moved locations and became much more inconvenient to get to. In all honesty, it's hard to stand out with the influx of so many Uzbek restaurants in South Brooklyn. This cafe was great and when visiting my first time, I had a great experience. i came in with my son and we were immediately seated. The wait staff was friendly, offered great advice on the food and took such good care of my son. We ordered the cherry vareniki for him and he ended up clearing his place completely (something he has never done, so it was a true compliment to the chef). For myself, we ordered the Greek salad and meat manti. I'm not a big fan of manti, but my mom (who joined us) really is and she said they were delicious. For myself, I ordered the lamb and chicken kebabs. Both were very well seasoned, tender, and really hit the spot. I don't think they use a charcoal grill, because I tasted a bit of the gas from the meat, but otherwise it was very good. And make sure you don't forget the Uzbek bread. I would go back just for that alone. It was straight out of the oven, crispy on the outside and warm and soft of the inside. Located in a place that you won't expect, well priced and super delicious meals. I tried grilled shrimp and fried trout, both with rice and decorated very well. Ordered from this spot for the first time. First off person on the phone was polite and got my order right without any issues. Delivery boy was also really nice and arrived in about 40 minutes. my husband and i are always looking for nice local places when visiting coney island/brighton beach area. this time we truly scored. my husband noticed the place walking by (we were not sure if it was a restaurant from the exterior). we checked out a take-out menu and decided to give it a shot. good decision!!!! the seating was comfortable and the place was packed by the time we left (all locals). we ordered gizdhe (samsa pastry filled with minced lamb = heaven), kachapuri (it did not look anything like what we are used to but it was still delicious), beef stroganoff (yummy) and pilaf. we did not expect much from the pilaf but it was packed with flavor and the meat was very tender falling off the bone. we also ordered chicken kebab that my husband did not like as much but i loved it (very well seasoned and juicy). both of us ordered "chersi" soft drink. my husband had it pear-flavored and i ordered tarragon . the color was striking (radioctive-green) and it did not taste anything like tarragon but it was pretty good. we noticed that one of the couples sitting close by bought their own flask of rum so i assume that this place is BYOB. i wish we knew before we came. our waiter was great. he recommended things and explained all dishes very clearly. for all drinks and meals we paid $41.87!!!! this was definitely 5 stars well deserved! read more

My family of 4 and I came there on Saturday afternoon. My 5 yr old son is a picky eater and we ordered for him plain pasta with a little butter. 5 minutes later we were told by the our waiter that they can not make it. I asked why and we were told that its not a regular menu item and they cant make it because of too many take out orders. I responded by pointing out that there is pasta in 2 places on the menu. I just am requesting plain for son and once again I was told that it just can not be done. I even went as far to order the pasta with shrimp, minus the shrimp. Still a definite no without even a care in the world. At least make pretend you're sorry! There are plenty of other decent Uzbeki spots to eat at in Brooklyn. I would certainly *NOT* waste my time here just for the cheap price. You definitely get what you pay for because all of the rest of the food we ordered was barely mediocre at best. I should have went with my gut feeling and walked out as soon as the first interaction went sour with the pasta. I regret wasting my time and money. read more
