I wish I could give 0 stars! Not only did they screwed up every aspect of my garage door order, but when they had me in a tough spot they tried to jack the price up for me at the last minute. ISSUE #1: They brought the wrong door. This wasn't discovered until AFTER my old door was removed and destroyed...meaning my garage was no longer secure. ISSUE #2: They said the proper door would take 2-3 weeks to arrive. Seriously?!?!?! I sure would have liked to hear that BEFORE the old door was removed. Thus, I had to spend hours that night cluttering up a part of my house with the contents of my garage that I didn't want stolen. UGH! ISSUE #3: The next day they called back to say they made a pricing mistake and that door will cost an extra $350. I argued for a week with them that they made the mistake and thus they should cover the cost difference, but that fell on deaf ears (literally...as you'll see below). They said my options with them were to cancel the order or pay the extra money. RIDICULOUS! ISSUE #4: Making matters worse, the owner is 80+ years old and can barely understand me on the phone. He kept calling me by the wrong name (kept calling me Ted) and when I'd try to correct him, he'd say sorry, I thought this was Ted from the Santa Monica job. It was a damn Abbott & Costello routine as I kept saying "It is the Santa Monica job, but name is Sean" and he'd say "Okay Ted." UGH UGH UGH!!! Need I go on? It was a complete clusterf&%# working with them and they are disorganized and unprofessional. AVOID!!! I finally gave up on them and gave my business to Besser Bros. I was told they would be here Saturday. No show and no call. I was told they would be here Monday 2:00-4:00. No show and no call. I called Omar's on Saturday morning about my broken roll up garage door. The 800 # took me to a medic alert call room. I called Omar's on his cell number. I was told they would be out Monday between 12noon and 2pm. At 1pm Monday I called and they said they couldn't be out until Tuesday. Totally unacceptable. My garage door came off the tracks on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving at 500 p.m. No one was willing to send someone over until AFTER THANKSGIVING except Omars. The two employees came, put the door back on the tracks and closed the garage door. I cannot emphasize the excellent service nor my sense of relief enough. I highly recommend them. read more

We just had a new sectional garage door put in by Omar's Garage Doors. We are so pleased with the whole experience from beginning of the project to the end. Omar was very friendly taking my first phone call expressing interest in a price on a new garage door in the design we wanted. His job overseer Victor, met me the next day to go over our garage door color and configuration and opener choice. The next day we gave Victor our deposit and our door was ordered. When the door came in at the warehouse, Victor scheduled the installation the very next day. Omar's installer George, was very kind, quick and professional and did a very neat job putting everything together including the Liftmaster 8500 side mount door opener we ordered. As George was opening the last panel for our door it was discovered that the manufacturer had made a mistake in the type of glass and accent panel design on my new door. No fault on Omar's part, Victor was called to determine what the problem was. Within one hour Victor had the correct glass and accent panels delivered to our home and his installers changed them out in minutes. This is where I give highest marks for the personal service and responsibility of Omar's Garage Doors and his employees. My garage door broke in evening. He came out at 630 and charged 200. Replaced spring for 150. That was just replaced a year ago. The cord was tangled and fix it. He did not want to give me receipt and wrote 350 on business card. It cost 400 from sears and 350 to fix it. Only did cause I needed garage door to close at night. I'd think twice about using Omar's again. When the door was installed, instead of wiring it properly, they used an extension cord to our existing garage lights - meaning our lights never went out. We had to unplug them every night before closing the garage. When we called, Omar was extremely rude. We had to fight with him to have someone come out and fix it. Now, two months later, the garage door went off track and is just haning there. I called Omar again, unpleasant as always, he told me it was probably our fault and it would be another $200 to fix it. We dont' have a lot of choice since my car is stuck in the garage! He's a really rude old man and very unpleasant to deal with. I would pay a little more and go somewhere else. Garage door failed after hours so we called Omar's the next morning and they sent Frank out within an hour on a Saturday! Frank was courteous and friendly. He found the problem and repaired it very quickly. He also fixed the cause of the damage. The motor was not stopping when coming into contact with an obstacle ( which was very dangerous especially with 3 small kids ) I will be using Omar's from now on, seeing as the last repairman adjusted the motor causing the damage! We have been putting off getting a new garage door , altho we needed one we were making it last. I did my best with gluing and duct taping using players and metal to hold all together. We finally called Omar, we had seen his old truck around town and wanted to use a local company to support and help the family owned business. I call and Omar answered the phone ( a live person) kind and friendly,he set up an appointment and the next day Pete the sales rep came over. Pete was very knowledgeable and walk me through all of the different options for my home. We chose to have a new insulated , steel back door installed. I checked with many other companies and Omar's prices were very much simular for the industry. We set up the install day and time, George the installer showed up right on time and completed the work in a timely manner. He was very detailed orientated and super clean in his approach to the install. Im so glad I chose Omar it seems as if they are now friends and will be here to support any and all my garage door needs. From 1994-2005 I dealt successfully with Omar's son, Dave. His father, Omar seems to run the business now. Our last contact with him was difficult. I've edited my original rating because after such a poor review, Omar contacted us to try to resolve the issue, albeit he mentioned something about 'filing on us'. He included a check for $100 which I am returning to him in the mail today. This dispute was about miscommunication; his frustration with a client, this client's frustration with his tone. We do not want to cause this small business owner stress. I had Omar install a new roll up garage door for me back in June 2003. As of this review, it is Jan. 2, 2017. Saturday 12/31/'16, one of the main springs of the door assy broke as the door was closing. It just made a bang noise that sounded unusual. There was NO damage to anything, and NO injury to anyone. The door closed completely. I called Omar this morning, explained the issue, and he had a serviceman at my door in under 2 hours. 45 mins later, my garage door was repaired with a new spring, working [quietly], like new again. Our garage door was not opening - We called Omar's knowing it was a business in our community and wanted to support that. Omar's sent two men out who were here for 5 minutes to tell us we needed a new remote, they did not fix or replace anything and we were charged $150. We went to Lowe's to buy our own remote for $37. When we asked the 2 workers about the $150 - they even said it was too much.We do not recommend this business. read more

After 22 years we broke a couple springs and the door was badly damaged. We called Omar and his estimator was there within a couple hours. Gave us a good quote and took advantage of a cancellation to put in a new door the next day. So we were without a garage for less than 30 hours. The door that went in is heavier steel and better quality than the prior one and it is quiet - amazingly so. They did some service a few years ago and put in the door we replaced. All good transactions at fair prices and promptly completed. Everybody we have dealt with has been professional and clear communicators. Thanks again. A very happy repeat customer. read more

So update on my situation with Omar, yesterday he said he would drop off our deposit, because we are close. So my wife called him to find out what time he was dropping it off, our deposit was cash. He told my wife he would send it next week and she said we would like it now to give to the new company. His response was your husband has plenty of money. What kind of company says that to a customer. This is by far a company to stay away from, I had them out not once but twice, I told them the machine could not be moved. I give them half down, I was told they would have two men, one man shows up, they wanted me to move the machine and I told them no you quoted me knowing the machine could not be moved, they left, now I'm stuck with no door and waiting to get my down payment back and missed work. Now I have to get a new quote. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR go else where. They are not someone that keeps their word!!!!!! read more

Wish I could say something, anything good about this guy, but no, he is a world class thief, unfortunately we have had to buy two doors & one opener of our own doing, this opener is two, may three months old, it FAILED, no problem we call him out and he DENIES installing this Genie opener, yes with invoice in hand, Genie opener on invoice, yes on the invoice, he hangs up on me three times, I have to handle because my dad is 94 years old, so he sends a man out, who does nothing but wants a $$$200.00 service fee on a three month old door that they provided parts & labor, well not paying a $$$200.00 service charge plus $$$200.00 more to install a new opener, SAYS HE DOES NOT "WARRANTY ANY OF HIS LABOR"", wow then leaves with our garage door wide open, WISH I HAD OF HAD A CHANCE O READ YELP before my dad gave this thief $1500.00 for the doors, Forget trying to support small business, it's THIEFS like this that ruin it for independant business!!!! Wow, I can't thank Omar's Garage Doors service enough. What an awesome experience. We had a garage emergency and they came through for us right away. On Saturday June 15th early evening my son went to go to work and our garage door would not work, it would not open. We were a little frantic because we had no way to get him to his job. So we immediately started to call around for garage services to help us. OMG it was a nightmare. Nobody would come help us. Nobody was even answering their phones. Everyone was closed. Then we found OMAR's 24 Hour Garage Doors service in Bellflower. We called and Chris immediately called us back to get us help. It was busy for them and everyone was on call already on a job but she said don't worry we will get someone out to you ASAP. And she did. She sent wonderful Juan out to us and he found the problem so quickly. He had to replace the two broken springs. Then he reprogrammed everything for us. Then he made sure everything was working correctly and safely. My son was able to get his car out of the garage and he arrived to work on time. Juan was very nice and very professional and we appreciated how quickly he solved our garage problem. Then Chris sent us Rigoberto on Sunday the next day nice and early to install a new Emergency release system so that if we ever had the problem again we could get our cars out of the garage right away. Rigoberto was so friendly and professional and he showed us twice how to use the release system and he let us practice. That was very helpful. Again we just adored Chris. Less than two weeks ago my garage door stopped working. I checked the Christian Directory phone listing to find a reputable garage repair shop. I ended up calling Omar's Garage Door. I was quoted $200 for labor over the phone then I informed the gentleman that the directory referenced a discount and I was later quoted $150 for labor. The entire job was $195. When the technician came to my house he replaced two springs. I paid for the service over the phone and I never received a receipt. A week later, the same problem occurred. I called Omar only to be told that I needed to check the springs and if the springs were ok, the engine must be defective. He then quoted me a price around $445 to replace the engine. He never offered to send a Technician to check the problem. I ended up going with a different company to repair the door and I was only charged $100 for labor. I was also told that the spring used by Omar's Garage was defective. After I paid, a second time, to have my garage repaired, I phoned Omar's shop to inquire about my receipt and a possible reimbursement for the inadequate service. He refused to even discuss any compensation and kept telling me I should have told him the springs were broken. I then replied, "I don't work on garage doors, you do. Therefore, you should have fixed it the first time". This company is unprofessional and lacks the basic fundamentals of Customer Service.
