After talking to a few pest companies, not only did they get the species of ants wrong (acrobat vs carpenter) which affects the bait being used, but they also can't get their story straight. I contacted them about an ant infestation inside my home. The technician who came out placed sugar bait inside to eliminate colony. He told me that an exterior treatment was not necessary at that time. I accepted that recommendation, due to potential exposure for my active dog. Months later, I called to follow up because the ant problem had not been resolved. I was then told the $216.50 treatment of simply adding sugar bait for the interior also included exterior treatment during the original visit. That was surprising because I was never told an exterior treatment had been done. When I asked where it had been applied, they did not give me a clear answer regarding the exterior. Paying for another treatment isn't the issue. If the ants require another visit, I'm happy to pay for it. My concern is that the explanation of what was actually done has changed. Now, they're saying I have to pay another $216 for their services again. Something just isn't adding up. If there's a reasonable explanation, I'd like to hear it. Based on the conflicting information, I have little confidence in their service.

Some red flags: There's no contract with Dave. He undercuts his competition with very fairly priced bids, but I remember when I agreed to write him a check for a year of service, he said you just have to trust him and yourself to be a good judge of character (which I do!). He was really on the ball at first. But things started to slip a month or so in with missed or late meetings; slow response to texts or phone calls and excuses. Lots and lots of those. Which I get, I have two toddlers! #life We've made it about 9 months into our "contract" year and I've completely lost touch with him. He was able to trap the rats we had in our attic, and seemingly reinforce barriers outside - but it's going to be a continual grind at our house (as in most in Austin) to continue to defend/protect. I have several friends I had recommended him to since this is such a common issue in our neighborhood/area but without the consistency and follow-through, I no longer think I can recommend his business.

I tried once more to schedule a time and that didn't work. At this point I've given up, and want others to know the issues I've experienced. Dave is very kind, seems to know what he's doing, and his prices are good. However he isn't good at communication or meeting expectations he's set. Update - after I wrote this review he wrote me asking if he could come out and resolve the issue, which is good follow up on a review. I chose not to do so since I still don't have faith in him meeting the expectations he's set, however I respect that he wanted to make things right.

I was a case-study in how NOT to maintain my dryer duct: It had been almost 20 years since it had been cleaned. We bought a new drier, which shut down due to restricted air flow. I had had a competitor come out the day before Omer's visit; while friendly, all they had was a hand-operated floppy brush more suited to HVAC ducts. They had no luck, and suggested I just move the dryer out to the garage and put in a new duct! Omer arrived with 2 different cameras, and a range of stiff brushes which he worked with his drill, in very tight spaces, and was finally able to dislodge what must have been a 10#, soaking wet mass of lint. He installed an upgraded flexible duct and a new outside duct cover, and cleaned everything up. I've learned my lesson: call Lady Bird out annually, and request Omer!

Allan was very responsive throughout the entire process, and was available to discuss services with him 15 minutes after submitting. Pricing and payment was transparent and a smooth process. The inspection report was very thorough with pictures and written in terms I could understand. Allan checked items I wouldn't have even considered and made several ongoing maintenance suggestions. He used a drone to inspect the roof, thermal cameras to inspect HVAC and insulation, electrical outlets, water systems, appliances, etc. Discovered several items I wouldn't have noticed (or at least not until they became serious issues). I felt as if Allan was inspecting the house from the perspective he was going to buy it himself, and left no stone unturned. Highly recommend DLB Check.

I called Omega to resolve an animal poop in the attic issue at a house I recently purchased. Wilson was very professional, responsive, prompt and took his time to check out my issue and talk me through what had likely occurred and discuss options for resolving it. He explained that the attic clearly had large animals living in for some time, and that that the previous owners had hired somebody to add critter guards etc., but had obviously not bothered to clean up the mess left by the animals. He was even complimentary of the previous work and said it should for sure do the trick to keep large animals out. He explained that he could remove all of the insulation, treat the attic with some chemicals / fumes, and re-insulate (obviously not cheap) if I really wanted things fully cleaned up, or that he could do spot treatments / remove the poop by hand and treat the attic, and this would clean up that vast majority of the mess and would be a reasonable choice given the size of the attic and the size of the mess (which is the option I chose). Part of why I'm writing this review is that I had one of Omega's competitors also check out my house and that guy did his best to scare / hard sell me into spending like $14k on redoing the critter guards, insulation removal etc. Wilson didn't try do any high pressure / scare mongering kind of sales tactics, he explained everything in a logical way and let me pick the option that I preferred. This summer I noticed that the insulation in my attic was compacted in places, and was strewn onto OSB walkways. I would occasionally hear a thump, but didn't know if it was an animal or the house settling. I live outside the city, and there is a lot of wildlife around. I suspected ring tail or racoons in the attic. I called Omega, and was able to get an appointment within a couple of days for a free inspection. Wilson showed up as scheduled, and spent nearly an hour with me. He examined the attic insulation throughout, the roof and vents for potential access points from inside the attic and outside the house, along with looking for damage to wiring or ductwork. No access points or damage was found. He found some scat that was old, which he identified as from a cat. I have feral cats who go up there if the attic stairs are left open. He did not find any evidence of wildlife or anything for them to fix - no entry points to close up, no insulation damage that needed to be removed, etc. He did not charge me anything -the inspection was free, just as promised. Last year I contracted with another company (I'll call them Acme Pest Control) as I had rats in my attic. Acme came out and patched things up and the rats were gone for about 5 months and then returned. I decided to switch bec I had a hunch that those guys didn't quite know everything they said...and my hunch was correct. So Josh comes out and he said the rats had opened up the holes that Acme patched up. He also found 10 other entry points that he could see rats were using. Josh also found that they had incorrectly patch the roof top (ridge/chimney vents etc) which couldn't caused leaking. So he worked with my roofer to repair the damage and seal up the holes the right way without damaging roof. I can't recommend Omega and Josh enough, they aren't cheap but if you want the job done right, give them a call. Protecting your home from rodents is a very tricky business and there are companies that will sell you a bunch of crap or they don't really know 100% of what they're doing. Josh used to do roofing before this so he really knows of what he speaks and how the rodents use your rooftop to get into the house. read more

I just had a complete attic decontamination done, all my old insulation removed--and it was very old, just like my house--and new insulation put in. It was a big, challenging and dirty job. This time it was for insect control in the kitchen and surrounding areas. The scheduler set the appointment and gave me a 4 hour window of time. That time came and went. I even paid someone to be present when they came because I could t stay the full 4 hour window of time. So I called chemfree an hour after the window of time, asking where he was. She said he was running late. Then called me back several minutes later to say she mixed the days up and it was actually the next day. Same time window. So I said as long as it was after noon and not earlier because I'd be on a Zoom call for work and couldn't answer the door during the call, much less have a lengthy conversation with someone needing me to explain the problem. He showed up 2 hours early and knocked and rang the bell for a good 15 minutes right as I was just beginning the call. It was very interrupting and hard to focus during that time on what I was saying on the business call with all the knocking a scribging. I simply couldn't answer the door to even talk through the security camera because I was on a business call. Turns out he was just there to talk about it and not actually do the job. So that was enough of my time wasted and a sign that it wasn't a good match that they couldn't respect my time I had made for them by not showing up when they said they would. Initial cost would've been $200 and a monthly payment and a contract.
