The waitress seemed nice enough but two different (bigger grouped) tables came in before us and got served before us. we ended up waiting an hour a half to get a little bit of our food. Manager was nice enough when trying to fix my eggs but my friends were waiting for ten minutes for me to finish eating because we were there for two hours before my food even came out. Went to Omega today for a beef gyro - been wanting one for a while and their sign says they have the best. Our waitress was nice, but she got our order very wrong. She fixed some of it, but the whole experience soured me, and we will not be returning. First of all, my sister wanted a chicken finger wrap - but instead of a (tortilla) wrap, she wanted it in a pita. She was told no substitutions. So she changed her order and got salmon eggs Benedict with grits. When her meal came, it had hash browns instead of grits. She told the waitress right away, and instead of leaving the plate so she could enjoy her warm entree, the waitress took the whole plate away and went back in the kitchen. By the time she returned with her plate with grits, the salmon eggs Benedict were cold and gelatinous. I ordered the beef and lamb gyro platter - which came with a small salad (emphasis on small), a few pita triangles, and was supposed to come with tzatziki sauce. My gyro came out as chicken (and I am not a fan of chicken). Even though I told her the chicken was not alright, she kinda twisted me to say I would eat it so she didn't have to make me wait. This was not what I was in the mood for. The gyro had a garlicky mayonnaise on it - not tzatziki sauce. So I asked our waitress if she could bring me some sauce. She brought out a tiny portion in a plastic cup and told me it was homemade. I have had tzatziki sauce before - and it is not mayonnaise based! This was awful - and it did nothing to help the horrid dryness of the chicken. Furthermore, she charged me $3.50 for it! I brought the receipt to the hostess, and told her I wasn't going to pay for it as it should have come with my meal. The waitress never mentioned she was going to charge me $3.50 for it. Also, I told the hostess that the waitress made the other mistakes (showing she got our orders wrong from the beginning - even though we spoke very clearly when we placed our orders). Instead of telling a manager, the hostess sent the waitress back out to tell me she can't/won't change the bill. I even told her that the tzatziki sauce was awful and it wasn't real - and she said the owner's mother makes a batch once a week and it was real. I have never had a mayonnaise based tzatziki sauce before. Anyway, the waitress said the owners make them charge for everything (even though it was supposed to be included on my gyro.). So I told her I was disappointed and I would not be returning. I left her an 18% tip (which is low for me), and I paid the $61.00 bill (I was treating my Mom and sister to lunch), and left the restaurant - never to return. I am a reasonable person - and I was calm and polite all the way through - but the restaurant's management apparently doesn't care if the patrons have an unpleasant experience. I won't be back - and I hope others can learn from our visit and skip this place next time they have a hunger. read more

Great spot for breakfast in Surfside. They don't serve anything fancy but you can get a good meal with friendly service at a reasonable price. I like that they serve hash brown breakfast potato's and they make a decent cup of coffee. They do get busy so if your super hungry or in a hurry you might want to get here early or be prepared for a wait. They are pretty efficient and do turn over quickly so you won't be staring at empty, dirty tables wondering when you will get seated. read more

This place didn't sit right with us. The food was ok. My ribeye was cooked just as I asked. Coffee fresh. We thought it odd that our refil of coffee was served in a water glass. I asked for grits but got hash browns. Honey butter was Weber with the French toast. And I think the butter on my toast was a butter flavoring not actual butter. The chairs were worn and torn. This used to be our go-to for breakfast when we came to Surfside. This morning we had a very negative experience. Simply, ordered sausage biscuits and the biscuit was raw. Not edible. I sent it back and got plain toast. Then was asked to pay for the sausage gravy and biscuits. The front told me no one was in charge. Here lies the problem! Stood at the desk 10 minutes to pay. Was completely ignored. Walked out. The waitress came outside to get me. Went in and would not pay for the sausage biscuit. No tip to the waitress either. We decided to try this place as we've driven by many times and seen the crowds. The place was clean ( some of the booth cushions need recovering) the chairs looked new. We were greeted right away and our waitress came over quickly, everyone was friendly. The food came out hot and was very good. Some people say the prices are cheap but I'd say reasonable not high or low. I had pancakes and would caution on spreading the sweet butter on them with syrup as it made it quite sweet not my taste but other than that the pancakes were fluffy, eggs perfectly cooked and coffee hot. Came for breakfast around 7:45am as we were leaving after a Labor Day getaway. We were greeted an sat promptly. After that we sat and watched table after table be sat and have coffee/drinks brought to them. After sitting for almost 15 minutes I had to flag down a waitress and ask if someone could take our order. We are very laid back polite people but this was extremely irritating especially since we had our 2 year with us which most know toddlers can be ticking time bombs in a restaurant. Ordered food - pancakes for the little guy, I had a western omelet and hubby ordered an omelet and churro French toast. My western omelet was good but had sausage in it instead of ham (not bad but not what it should be). I tasted my sons pancakes and they tasted a little gritty almost like there was sugar added to the mix. Hubby finished his food and said it was good. My second time here on a leisure trip. Weekends are super busy, the wait was just under 20 min. Decor isn't fancy but it is very clean and bright. All the staff i came in contact with were very warm and friendly. And they had sufficient staff who did a great job with pleasant attitudes. A large menu with many creative options.
