My Mom and I picked up my sweet Dad today, and they were so kind, considerate and professional throughout the entire process. This is how it truly should be. The office had beautiful, unique urns to choose from, and helped with options on how to proceed with your loved one's ashes. My mother is so traumatized she can't even type because of how you guys placed her mother so family and friends could go give their last goodbyes. Her mother's wish was to be cremated and the ashes would go with her father's ashes. My mom and uncle spoke to you guys about what to expect. My uncle said their mother would look really beautiful with lace and not all of her body wouldn't be shown. You never told them you were going to put their mother in a box with the lid nearby so once everyone left you just put the lid on and slide her into the fire. My mom is now having to take anxiety pills because of how you presented her mother!!! She cried the entire time. I'm also writing this to warn other people about what you guys did so no one else will have a nervous breakdown requiring Emergency Room treatment. read more

I don't appreciate the initial page I came across had a $0 cost "Cremation with Full Body Donation." and then I came across another page on the Omega Society site that their minimum/basic package is the "Essential Signature Elements" is $1,180. there is no support for grief after a loved one dies, which is advertised and they never follow up a person named Jerry Shepherd calls you every day twin force your loved one to call Science Care to be my mother's body donated and that's not on her wheel, neither does the attorney agree with it my mother wishes to be buried and the paperwork is all mixed up which a person is not in the state of mind to make decisions within 72 hours. There is no time to cry and there is no time to choose a funeral home and transported to a cemetery, these people care more about business and property off of body parts read more

I want to start by apologizing to anyone that read my positive review from a few years ago and chose to use Omega Society based on my positive experience. Apparently quite a bit can change over time and I'm sad to say this is the case with the Omega Society. I had previously used them for a loved one late 2019. I had a great experience, everyone who helped me from the Omega Society was great. The service really was top notch and they were quick to respond to any questions, and we received our loved one back about a week after passing. I have been referring them to family members and friends based on that positive experience and they were all please with the service they provided. I didn't hesitate to contact the Omega Society a couple of months ago when another loved one passed away and we were in need of a direct cremation. They picked my loved one up within a reasonable time, but it took a while to be contacted by anyone to actually take care of the arrangements. The person who helped us was a nice gentleman, but he continuously dropped the ball and was horrible with any and all communication. Without going into personal detail, we had an absolutely horrible experience using the Omega Society. After some pretty major issues and lack of communication and details from the person handling everything, I attempted to contact someone else to escalate the issues and hopefully resolve some of the problems, but couldn't get ahold of anyone. They rely on an answering service and not a single one of my calls taken by the answering service was returned by anyone at the Omega Society in the nearly two month period it took to get our loved on returned to us. The person handling our loved one's paperwork was extremely unresponsive, unprofessional and made multiple and obviously errors on legal documents. After not hearing anything for weeks I sent my 17th email(yes, 17 emails that mostly went unanswered) and asked when my loved one would be ready to be picked up. The person handling everything said my loved one was ready... so why was I never notified??? I made arrangements to come in "around noon" during what I thought were their business hours, this "around noon" time slot was approved by the person handling everything without any mention of being closed for lunch from 12-1:30PM. I arrived only to find their office door looked without any ringer or buzzer to notify them that we were there. Fortunately another employee had a food delivery or we would have had to wait until they reopened to collect my loved one. We also would have been happy to come during another timeframe had we been made aware they close for lunch. I was extremely disappointed in the level of service they provided pretty much from start to finish, even though the issues started almost immediately, they already had our loved one and there was little we could do. Being left in the dark and not knowing what is going on with your loved one or their body/remains is a horrible and unsettling feeling. I regret using them and wish I would have read some of the more recent reviews citing some of same issues to what we faced before choosing to use them again. Don't be enticed by their pricing, or their initial politeness, once they have your loved one and your money they don't care about actually assisting you or giving your loved one back. Formal complaints will be filed with the state regulatory board - Cemetery and Funeral Bureau. I don't want any other families to experience the issues we did while going through an already difficult time. If you're reading this and have faced similar issues I'm sorry you had to go through that and I'm sorry for your loss. read more

We had an unexpected death in the family, we had neither experience or knowledge of what to do after this very sad and affecting event. As this was a drug related death the county coroners office gave us the names of a few funeral providers to choose from. After contacting the Omega society we were immediately confident to trust our loved one's remains to their care. There was no pressure, and every sense of care and concern for us, the survivors. First, the website had far more information as compared to the other three local cremation services. Omega provides price breakdowns so you can request exact what you want. Other sites had packages of services which were not editable. And to my surprise, the cost was very reasonable. I completed the documentation and received confirmation. Our daughter tragically passed away at 38 weeks before she could be born. As you could imagine, my wife was distraught and could not deal with these arrangements, and of course I should anyway. However, because she was the patient at the hospital, they kept insisting she be involved and kept emailing and bugging her. I finished all the paperwork and sent it. They always needed more information and it seemed to take weeks before they actually picked up our baby. 3 weeks later, nothing. I email Julie Aldridge, and heard nothing. I called and left messages....nothing. Then, they decided to call my wife back and tell her our daughter's ashes are waiting and we need an appointment. Extremely upsetting to her! So I call and no one picks up. I email, Julie, and do not hear back. They call my wife again! I finally get a hold of someone and make an appointment for 9am in the morning. I get there and they are not open. I had to walk into the back of the building (which was oddly wide open) and see all the equipment with someone being cremated, but no one to help. Finally, I catch a lady going to her car and she opens the front up for me and brings me the ashes in a plastic white container. No one even bothered to ever ask us if we wanted a nicer receptacle. Instead, they hassled us to provide information about our race, ethnicity, etc. I found this to be one of the worst experiences, which is the worst thing we needed to go through with such a tragic loss. Someone called me back and worked with me late into the night to make sure that everything was handled before I left. I knew the original owner of Omega, Jerry de Michaelis. He was a wonderful and kind man. He actually tried to persuade me to come work with him to expand his company. However, as a father having 3 girls under 10 years old, I was a little nervous about a career move, and declined his generous offer. I stayed in touch with Jerry for many years, until the sad day of attending his memorial. Enter the new owner, his daughter Janet. Janet was a far cry from her wonderful dad. That brings us to this year, 2022. My big brother Moose (Mike) just weeks from his retirement, passed from melanoma that swept through him like a wildfire and took him in less than 90 days. My sister-in-law, obviously still in shock, asked me if I could arrange for a cremation for Moose. In honor of my friendship with Jerry, I called Janet at Omega. No one answered, so I left a personal message to Janet, explaining the sudden death of my brother, and asked her to please call me at her earliest convenience. Not only did I not hear back form Janet, I heard back from NO ONE. Weeks have now passed, and to this day there has been no response from Janet, or anyone else at Omega. After waiting 24 hours, I called Neptune Society and they were taking care of my brother within hours. All I can say is that Jerry de Michaelis would have been saddened by the extreme lack of empathy and professionalism on his daughter's behalf, on such a dark day for my family. read more

My Dad just passed in the beginning of June. The week before he passed I had reached out to Omega Society upon the recommendation of the hospice company we used for my Dad's care. I selected Omega Society because hospice mentioned they do a lot of work with the National Cemetery's and my Dad wanted to be laid to rest at the Riverside Cemetery. I worked with Melissa Estrada from the start to finish. She was so kind, empathetic and compassionate. I truly can't say enough how much that meant to me during this time. The process of setting a date with the cemetery and approval for my Dad to have the National Cemetery as his final resting point was easy and Melissa handled it all for us. I didn't realize Omega Society contracts for with another company for the pick up of the family member when needed, but the gentleman that came out for my Dad was nothing short of incredible! This is the 3rd time I've used The Omega Society in 7 years. All of my experiences have been excellent. They have added an online pre-registration which is excellent. My most recent experience: the men in nice suits & ties picked up my mom within 3 hours. I was able to pick up her ashes in 5 days. I received the death certificates within a week of her passing. In a difficult situation, heart breaking, The Omega Society provided excellent service. I highly recommend them. BTW, a hospice nurse recommended them to me in 2015. read more
