I called and Alfonzo immediately answered, His courtesy and (seemingly) genuine concern was comforting.

The team was very kind and helpful towards us through our grief and mourning and made everything seamless for us to navigate. Lupe was especially very helpful and accommodating even when my brother and aunt were asking for a lot and had very particular requests. Everyone was very patient with us. The chapel punches above its weight; it's very clean, large, comfortable, and beautiful, especially for the value/cost. I consider myself pretty claustrophobic and uncomfortable with funerals but the large venue allowed me to have my own space at times. There are multiple packages available to accommodate to different religious faiths. Our Buddhist funerals are very extensive and involve a lot of decor, setting up, altars, but we did not have to worry about providing or doing any of that ourselves. Here in Orange County/Little Saigon, the other most popular funeral home is Peek which I find to be so crowded, commercialized, less warm and comforting, and the service is less thorough or comprehensive. Melrose Abbey, I believe, has been family-owned for a few generations hence why working with the team feels more cordial and personal. I recommend all Vietnamese families in the area to come here instead; far better value, better venue, while still accommodating to our traditions. My only complaint is that for some reason the staff wheeled my grandfather to the crematorium rather than having us pallbearers escort him; I was hoping it'd be my last moment with him. We were told to clutch onto the casket which did feel a bit misleading or confusing; I'd rather we just be told that we weren't going to do anything. Once again, I'd like to thank the team especially Lupe.

She explained the process thoroughly, she was so responsive to all of our calls and emails. She was able to get all the necessary paperwork and she happily obliged with all of our requests. The place itself was clean, everything was done on time, Abigail and her staff were so kind, empathetic, patient and really helped us through this difficult time. This was an unexpected passing of my Father and we didn't know much but like I said she went over everything to make sure we had the proper Hindu ceremony and respected all of our cultural wishes. My Dad was given a proper and the most beautiful heartfelt funeral. The flowers, casket, ceremony to all the details couldn't have been more perfect. My family and I are so grateful for all the hand holding during this difficult time. Abigail went above and beyond. My only dislike was the mic for the speeches there was a loud echo making it difficult for the people to hear the speeches but during the recorded live stream the voices were recorded just fine so we have this forever. Thank you

I…read moreremembered Funeraria del Angel Anaheim when I attended a friends viewing a few years back and I decided to get their services. I was so glad I did. It was one of the best decisions I have made in my entire life. My contact person was Marisol. I was so confused and did not know anything on how to bring my mom back here in California. Marisol was very calm, very patient, very professional and guided me through the entire process. From start to finish, (dealing with the funeral home in the Phils, picking up my mom's remains in the airport, dealing with the life insurance company and the cemetery, filing the permits, even the reception room was personalized with my mom's favorite color, etc) Marisol and the entire staff - Lilia, Daniel, Jessica showed genuine empathy and a high degree of professionalism, delivering a flawless and dignified service. Their patience and care really meant a lot to me and the whole family. They never left us. We never felt hurried or just another 'client' . We felt that we are their 'family'. They were there until my moms burial in the cemetery. Words and money will never be enough to repay the empathy, patience and support that the staff gave us during this difficult time. We are deeply thankful and will never forget what you have done and how you made us all feel during this entire process. We love you guys. - Grace M and the whole Carcellar Family

Thanks to them we were able to obtain a Catholic mass & funeral services in our back yard. Our concern was also to get our mom's cremation/Urn within a two week time frame. Chavez Funeral &Cremation delivered reliability, assertiveness & expedited our request. A reputable foundation nonetheless. Under the circumstances where the last thing you need is more task to tackle, Chavez Funeral& cremations took a huge weight of our hands. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, Especially to Sonia. Excellent, well done. Cons: Some reviews say that This organization doesn't get back in time. I totally can understand the frustration(under the circumstances) however a simple call and text to, friendly remind Sonia or her staff will solve that miscommunication. Any organization can get backed up or busy but I can assure you it's an easy fix. Atleast it worked for me. Best.

The wake was held in the mausoleum the evening before. It was nicely set up. I was a bit turned off for the funeral services because during the burial, Kailee (sp?) young Emo looking girl that was assigned to help the family at the grave site, was not helpful. I asked her for an extra easel to display a framed photo and she quickly answered she didn't have anymore. I asked her if I could use the podium because the family wanted this second photo up and she declined saying no we couldn't . I told her I understood and then asked her what her suggestion would be - where should I put it? She suggested I lay it down on one of the cocktail tables she had in the back of the seating area. What would be the point of that? No one would be able to see it much less the decedent's parents who wanted this second photo on display. I think this was a small request and nothing unusual but apparently too much to ask for. And somehow she kept finding easels for the flower arrangements. 2nd thing she did that we felt was disrespectful was while the priest was praying a Hail Mary, Kailee was busy removing the cellophane from several flower bouquets and the noise from that was absolutely distracting and impolite. This girl had no situational awareness or maybe she didn't care. Family kept turning to look her way because they couldn't figure out who or what that noise was. Please hire more emotionally "mature" and compassionate people that know how to behave in delicate situations. Compliments to the three gentlemen that worked the heavy equipment and lowered the casket- they were careful, efficient, and buried my relative swiftly, neatly, and with care. Thank you, Simon. There was a second young lady (Hispanic) that was partnering with the emo girl - she was professional and polite.

Sadly, two years after my father's passing, I am beyond disappointed with what we have experienced. The condition of the graveside area is heartbreaking. What should be a peaceful, well-kept place to visit and remember a loved one has instead become neglected and upsetting to see. We were assured that these issues would be taken care of, yet as the pictures clearly show, that has not happened. Losing a parent is hard enough without having to continually deal with the disappointment of seeing their resting place in such poor condition. I truly wish I had done more homework and explored other options before choosing this mortuary and cemetery. Families deserve honesty, compassion, and follow-through during one of the most difficult times in their lives. Unfortunately, our experience has not reflected that.
