This is the 3rd time I've used The Omega Society in 7 years. All of my experiences have been excellent. They have added an online pre-registration which is excellent. My most recent experience: the men in nice suits & ties picked up my mom within 3 hours. I was able to pick up her ashes in 5 days. I received the death certificates within a week of her passing. If you think, look at all these positive reviews, the ones leaving negative reviews are just people who are negative about everything then, let the second review I've ever made on this site, be a sign that this is a truly terrible establishment. Frankly, I'm the type of person who doesn't care about bad service if it happens a few times, people are allowed to have bad days. However, for weeks this establishment has had the kind of snobbishness that you would expect from an entitled teenager. I mean, consider how awful a business would have to be for someone to take time out of processing their father's death to write a Yelp review (I seriously can't believe I'm writing a Yelp review at a time like this). It has been so bad that even for things like getting basic information, like confirming their address, I got stonewalled and had to call back multiple times to get an answer. There is absolutely no reason to break the bank when you need to have a loved one cremated, and Omega Society seems to understand that. It isn't disrespectful to your loved one to shop around in advance of need (DO this!), check reviews, and select only the services you need. If you're going to convey your loved ones to their final resting place as we are doing, there's no need to pay for a lot of bells and whistles nor a dozen death certificates. (Don't believe anyone who says you need that many. You need maybe three at the most.) Omega Society is an excellent, efficient organization that made preparations for my mother's cremation very easy and smooth. I was able to do all the paperwork and payment online, there was no upselling, and I only had to go there to pick up her remains. The young man who brought out her remains also made sure I was OK, which was very kind considering I clearly was OK. I assume that some people are OK until they're handed a box with Mom inside, and he took a moment to explain what I was getting and to make sure I didn't suddenly melt down. The gentleman who came to pick up my mother was very kind and also treated her with the greatest respect, and Will, the gentleman I worked with on the phone, was also very helpful. All in all, it was a very positive experience and it cost less than a third of what I paid at another mortuary for my dad's cremation three years before. The only difference between the two experiences was that Dad was delivered in a felt bag, and Mom was delivered in a nice gift bag. They both looked very nice -- considering. read more

We used omega society for my father's cremation. Their prices were straightforward. We actually made arrangements prior to his death - everything was signed digitally. When my father passed away they came to our house to transport his body. They were professional and very kind. TheY assigned Drew to our case and he reached out to us often to keep us updated on when we could schedule the witness cremation which was helpful. We never felt rushed when we came for the viewing and witness cremation. They walked us to the back where the crematories were and even let us press the button to push the casket into the furnace. My mother passed away a couple weeks ago. She was in hospice for 4 months and I was dreading the fact that I had to call funeral homes sooner or later. When the day came that my mother passed away I chose Omega Society. At first I was scared that perhaps it be a fussy, tedious task to get her wishes to get cremated. But I was proved wrong and I'm relieved I was! Mr. Clemens was so patient and understanding the whole process. The whole time it felt like family was helping me go through this painful period. I recently lost a love one and decided to give Omega a call based off their great reviews. I spoke with a lady named Cheri. The conversation started off well until she continuously kept speaking to another person around her and she kept forgetting my name. She seem very rushed and had no regards for my feelings. I was already emotional and she had no since of warmth. I felt rushed and did not receive good customer service at all. In such a vulnerable time, I would have expected a mortuary to have been more compassionate and professional. I ended up just hanging up the call. I will never recommend their services and am quite disappointed. P.s. oddly enough, I was referred to this company by an employee who was terminated. Even with being terminated, they still referred me to this place of business with a great recommendation. Yet, the owner response with the below?? Wow, really? I guess not only the staff but ownership needs some lessons on customer service all together. No wonder my service was horrible, it's a reflection of leadership. SMH read more

Dear reader, I needed a place to cremate my sister.   In deciding between two places, both with good prices. 1) I got a referral from the hospital, and 2) I got a recommendation from the nursing home my sister was at. I called the one from the hospital, and they sounded good; this company listed all the services. Since it was a referral, they had a special price. All was good. Then I called the second one referred from the nursing home, which was, The Omega Society. I spoke with Francine, and she gave me a detailed rundown that was more detailed than in the first place. Then I got the price, and it was quite a bit less. The response from Francine at Omega was always quick, and she was fully attentive even if she had other duties.  She spent the time to answer any questions, and she never rushed me. I checked out the Omega Society website, and it looks like a quality operation. She reviewed the DocuSign agreement form with me in detail, so all questions were addressed, and I understood everything.   Since I live out of state, I asked if they could send me photos of the cremation furnaces. She asked if I wanted the jewelry on my sister too, and I did. They gave me the schedule, and I could make a remote prayer for my sister at the cremation hour. It was complete, and I felt connected with my sister. I had several requests for them, and they fulfilled all my desires. They were understanding of my feelings. I am totally pleased with the experience.   I am still waiting for the death certificates, but they reassured me that they would assist me if delayed. My Brother Died on the 17 of April and it took me a day to find someone who could take him in. He weighed 569 lbs. That could take him in but now starts the issues. Our consultant quoted me 1989 and some change. Then emailed me a 2500 itemized quoted m. When I called and asked. about it she got mad and said this is what she told me.. I told her no I have you on speaker and have 2 witnesses for what you told me.. email she had added a casket and burial. We wanted just cremation.. so here starts the not trusting her.. I told her that I was getting help from family to pay for his services and I would be in Monday to pay cash. When I called Monday to get an apt like told to do so when I had cash on hand, they had to call her from home she told me to come Tuesday. I told her that I couldn't I have a disabled child that I have a sitter for today and I'm coming in. Again she got mad. Whatever it's not your time it's mine. I have a life outside of this that I have to live also. Ended up having to bring g my mom in because she had to sign paperwork. Again had to rearrange my son's world and therapy. To accommodate this person.. we got into the office and she complained that we paid cash, then she tells my mom that they have my brother don't worry they will take care of him.. but there is an issues with the Dearh Cert. It's not signed off yet.. um, I'm sorry I spoke to the corner and he said they were waiting on Omega to pick him up. This I know because we had just come from that office.. so that left a bad taste in my mouth. In the car I called the Cornor office again and asked him what the issues were.. they said he was sitting g here waiting to be picked up.. this after they just told. my mom that they had him and they were going to take care of him.. my mom started to cry.. I called Omega back and let them have it.. told them how could they tell a grieving mom all that and now think we are going to check, I had to calm my mom down before we drove back the 2-hour trip back home...when the consultant called about the death certificate I told her that she needs to apologize to my mom. She didn't even know what she had done. Like what I told her didn't sink in.. and now we have the death certificate but no ashes.. I just called today asking about them. And was told I'll call u later today or tomorrow how you treat apple like this . If you wanna keep his ashes do it at this point I'm going to call the BBB and let them know how you are playing with the prices and treating people and keeping people's loved ones read more

When a family member passes away and you're heartbroken the last thing you want to even think about is handling funeral arrangements. I got very lucky from my neighborhood community group with multiple friends recommending the Omega Society. They were wonderful. Very respectful, returned phone calls promptly and very professional. Jerry Shepard handled everything for me and went over and above to make sure everything was to my satisfaction. And I did check around for pricing. I was happily surprised they were one of the most reasonable businesses out there!!!! When my loved one died the beginning of November, I was not given the "Omega Warmth" that Janet d likes to brag about in her Yelp replies. What I received was an arrogant, smarmy salesman in Drew de Michaelis, who was condescending and dismissive on the phone and mostly curt in his emails. My case was deemed "difficult" because I was not a blood relative of the deceased and held only a financial Power of Attorney. A search would be needed to see if any family existed to handle my loved one's last remains. It is here that Janet d would remind you to get a Medical Power of Attorney. We had cared for my loved one for the last 6 years of his life. Although I was honored to have the task, he had no family to help him. He was there for my Birth, my Wedding, my children's parties, my Father and Mother's Deaths. This lovely gentleman, who I called my "Uncle", came to every Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Graduation. He was part of my Family. My "Uncle" had been without family his entire life with the exception of 3 second degree relatives he had left 50 years ago on horrible, angry, bitter terms never to be seen again. The beginning of December, these people were found and I waited to see what their next action would be. I had spent the month of November waiting, sadly imagining my deceased "Uncle" also on hold. During the month of December and Christmas when I was deeply concerned about my deceased "Uncle's" remains, I hated to think of him in the cold mortuary over the Holidays, not a word from Omega did I receive, not even a note of compassion to let me know in some way I was being supported or even assisted. I called Drew the beginning of January for some news. What a shock to find out that even though I was the paying client, who had hired and signed the contract with The Omega Society, I had been purposely dismissed and misled by them. Omega and Drew de Michaelis had entered into an agreement per the family's request to proceed with burial plans only as long as I, who had paid the bill in early November, was explicitly not informed of the disposition of the remains of my loved one, or of any of the details regarding my contract. I had been neglected for basically a month because of a Vow of Silence Drew and Omega took with the family. Ethical? It certainly was not Professional. The family had the right to make the arrangements, but to be so petty as to make me worry about my deceased "Uncle's" remains was an act only allowed because The Omega Society facilitated it. Such disloyalty for greed makes me cringe. In the end, the job was completed, cheaply, and that is how I was treated, cheaply, with not a care to my peace of mind or comfort. Drew managed me like a gnat he wished would go away, most of the time ignoring me completely. When I confronted Drew with my complaints in a last call, he apologized to me, four times, granted after offering many excuses. Drew said, "I would change it all if given another chance." Sadly, at that very point we are most vulnerable as the grief impacts the decision making process. Melissa and her team were kind and compassionate and worked with us to accommodate every whim we had. They were responsive and the cost was affordable. My grandson's mother passed away very unexpectedly. We were completely devastated. My son wanted to have a traditional funeral. Her father requested cremation. Under the very difficult circumstances, the Omega Society has a memorial service available for those wanting to say goodbye one last time. We chose to do it on a weekend, which was an additional fee. The room can hold approximately twenty people, it was intimate and a beautiful service for her closes friends and family members.
