Arrived shortly after 9am on a Friday during holiday season. School is out so wasn't crowded at all. Waitress was darling. Food is HUGE portions, I ordered the omelette with Chorizo and spinach in it it has a name I just can't remember the name of it. Ate here a few times during a work stint in commerce. Each meal was huge and fantastic. I had a beef omelette that was huge, fresh and good. The taco salad was a thumbs up by my wife who couldn't finish it. Grilled chicken breast tasted the best. It was grilled on open flame and the seasoning was spot on. I couldn't stop eating even though I was stuffed. The only negative was the egg custard pie was over baked but maybe it was just an anomaly. Will have to try again when back in town. read more

Terrible service. Took 7-8 minutes for my drink order. The other 2 tables who arrived before me still did not have drinks either so could have been worse. The phone kept ringing and ringing (very annoying) probably a total 100-150x. It looked liked the cook (?) was annoyed as well and finally walked to the front and aswered the call. Food: arrived 30 mins after i sat down. The french fries were pretty good, in a jack in the box curley fries kind of way. The chicken fried steak was 8.5 out of 10. The green beans were total slop and inedible. Conclusion: i would probably return with the expectation of lousy service and will definitely skip the beans. read more

Menu has many options and they serve breakfast all day. You get 2 rolls and 2 corn muffins no matter if you order breakfast or lunch. Corn muffin was good but a bit greasy. Rolls are very good. I ordered a biscuit as I really enjoy them. It was big and very good. Looking forward to trying the biscuits and gravy. Iced tea is good as well as the coffee. I tried Juju's platter. Scrambled eggs were fresh and good. There was some butter under the eggs. Did not notice any seasoning. Asked about the desserts. Winner! Winner! Chicken dinner! Omegas is by far the best restaurant I've been to in Commerce. While their interior design could use some work, the quality AND quantity of food is phenomenal. I get their chicken fried chicken and it is the best. The wait staff hasn't been top notch in my experience, but their cooks make sure every meal provided is good ol' homestyle cooking. I have not had their breakfast, which is what they are known for. The only downside to Omegas is that it is a bit steep for the average college student to pay, but it is a splurge that I make more often than not because it is a good hearty meal that beats cafe food. read more

I like that there's a sit-down restaurant amidst all the fast food options. I also like that you can get a side of fruit. The fruit bowl was very nice. The tortilla soup was good - a little too much celery and cilantro for my tastes, but still good. The fries were a bit over seasoned. The grilled cheese was just sad. A slice of bread with a kraft American single probably grilled open faced. If I had gotten it by itself, I probably would have asked to change my order. I got it with my soup, so I just opened it up and dipped it in my soup. The people were nice, but they could have been a little more attentive. read more

The breakfast is the best in Commerce. The orange juice is hand squeezed. I love their French toast but a half order is enough. Biscuit and gravy are to die for. The pies are great also. My usual particular waitress is awesome, but the rest of the staff is eh. Prices are reasonable for breakfast and little expensive for lunch. Not so good and breakfast is way overpriced - breakfast is always about $20/ person when we have gone there. We ran into one of their old employees who said she quit because of poor food handling. For example, if food fell on the floor, they were told to pick it up and put it back on the plate and serve it. Also, notice their mixer - it looks like it never gets cleaned. Omega was a great find! From the outside it doesn't look very inviting, but once you sit down and order you'll be satisfied. The food is delicious and at a good price. Breakfast is served all day, which is hard to find in Texas. And the shear number of desserts is astounding. Almost all of them are made in house are absolutely delicious. The service we got was great as well. We had a large group, so it was a little difficult to handle us all. However, the server was great and interacted well with our table. We eat here several times a week. 95% of the food is homemade on site by the owners. Servings are enormous. Breakfast is always available and delicious. The entrées will feed me 2 meals easily.
