With great expectations, we went to OMG burger, thinking they were one of the best burger joints in the city, but I was dead wrong. I came out of that place with utter disappointment. The venue is smaller in size, but it was able to fit our party of 12-15 folks. I was the last one to arrive with my children. The rest of the family had already ordered. I went with a guaca burger with French fries, and my oldest son ordered the OMG Philly sandwich with French fries. The younger 2 went with kids hamburgers with French fries. The place was somewhat busy. Our food came in about 15 minutes. One of the children's French fries were missing, so I notified the cashier, and he advised me that a replacement was on its way. My guaca burger was just an ordinary burger with cheese and some guacamole pasted on the buns. There was nothing spectacular about it, that I could possibly brag. My son said that his OMG Philly was ok. He did not care for the sauce that was drenching inside the buns. He said that he has had much better Philly's in other places. The French fries were very dark and not golden crisp. They were soggy at the same time. My speculation is because they were possibly fresh cut, rather than frozen. If you really want a burger of flavor, then try Lankford, Stanton or Killen's. So it's about time for us to leave, and wait a min..... my son's missing fries have still not surfaced up. I went back to cashier, and told him to throw some in a bag for late night munchies. He completely forgot to bring a replacement earlier. We took the bag of fries with us, but they had completely dried out, by the time we got home, so they ended up resting in the garbage can. I Ordered the Omg fries and they are usually the bomb without a question but this particular time I went not so much. Upon tasting them I noticed almost immediately that the cilantro that was sprinkled on it wasn't clean. You wanna know how I know, Well I was crunching on the dirt and sand that's on it if you try to go without washing it. My take is someone was in a hurry but to me the customer it ruined my experience. The sad part is I influenced another customer to buy some and I know they had the same experience as me. I felt embarrassed to upsale a dish with a slight mistake that could've been fixed by just washing the cilantro. I've been to OMG Burger twice already, but my second visit was better than the first. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because not every single item on the menu is worth getting. The first time I went there with a group of people, a lot of my friends didn't enjoy what they ordered. However, this time that I went, I ordered the sassy jalapeño burger with chili cheese fries which were absolutely AMAZING. I added some bacon and avocado to my burger which really hit the spot. I wish I remembered the mediocre items on the menu to specify for those who would rather avoid getting that item. I went on a Friday night and it was moderately packed but we got a seat right away. You can't ever go wrong with their classic OMG burger which my husband got and topped it with a fried egg. He LOVED that, and definitely recommends it to everyone!
