I also tried the hot honey wings, which were equally amazing; extra crispy, served hot and fresh. The fries were standard, just as I expected. On our way out of town and my son and I thought we would grab a bite to eat from am area of town we don't normally eat in. I was craving some wings and so I hit up Yelp , as we are not from the area. I was a bit skeptical about a Philly Cheesesteak restaurant serving good wings, but the Yelp reviews assured me that these were some of the best wings people have had. We stopped in , and were greeted by a young woman and man at the counter. They were both personable people that talked to me a little bit about the food and owners. My son and I ordered 10 wings to split, hot honey and Buffalo, as well as a 10 in. cheesesteak to split. When the food arrived within 15 minutes it looked great. The wings glistening hot with the perfect amount sauce, not too much, not too little. I was a little unsure if splitting 10 wings was not going to be enough, but I was wrong. The size of these wings are larger than any wing from BBW or Wingstop , so 5 wings and half a cheesesteak would be plenty. Anyway, let's get to the taste and texture. When I bit in I realized these are the juiciest wings I've ever had. The coating was also very crunchy but not overly coated with batter. They apparently coat them in a corn starch rather than flour. Listen folks, I consider myself a wing connoisseur and when I say these wings are the best I've had, that's not hyperbole. After eating these wings , I personally would rebrand this place as a wing joint that sells Philly Cheesesteaks . As for the cheesesteak, I'm not a cheesesteak connoisseur, but this stacks up with cheesesteaks I've had in Philly just as well, great tasting ribeye, sautéed onion and provolone. If you're in the area and craving a cheesesteak or wings please give them a try. The owner is a veteran and offers veteran discounts. Probably the closest thing I have eaten in Texas to a Philly Cheesteak. Growing up in the suburbs of Philadelphia this was a treat. Wish they had Cooper Sharp as a cheese option; that would make it legit! I appreciated the Amoroso Roll - nice touch. However, my personal preference is a roll with a hard crust on the outside. I am slightly late in posting my review of Philly Flats. Following an appointment on 4-27-25, I was told about the restaurant so on the way home I stopped for dinner. I order garlic Parmesan wings, fries, and an adult beverage. The wings and fries were served hot. They were excellent. I had the opportunity to meet the owners, Kim and Scott. They were from Philadelphia and very personable. Oh no, did I mention they were Eagle fans with some Eagle stuff on the walls. Just like the Champion Eagles, this is a great place to eat.
