The mango habanero, garlic Parmesan, and gochujang flavors are all very good, and the wings are consistently crispy. They have just the right amount of crunch without being overdone. I did not know what to expect of this place! We were looking for a spot that was open late and their name showed up. When you walk into the door, there's a kiosk to place your order. Spend your name is called when it's ready. They also have a giant Jenga game that you can play, while waiting. The restaurant is pretty neat and clean. Wang Shack off Grand Parkway is laid-back, hosts an eclectic choice of music, and easy-to-order Kiosk system soon as you walk in allows you to take your time when ordering. Nice independent Buffalo wings spot in Katy, if you live around here, you have to come and try the food here. They have a big list of sauce for your Wang (wing) and the price for the meal combo is pretty fair. The wings are pretty plump and the fries are fresh tasting. My go to spot for wings. I get them extra crispy I have to emphasize extra crispy because sometimes they do forget lol their variety of flavors and their premade slushy drinks are soooo good! Shake Shack is my favorite but I can honestly drink any of the three. My go to flavor is Buffalo bone in. I haven't tried their boneless wings but on Monday's and Tuesday's they have boneless for $0.88 so one day I will try them. I would say order ahead because they do take a while and no matter the day they always seem busy. When ordering over the phone you have to pay or else they will not start your order until you get there which defeats the point of ordering over the phone lol so that annoyed me one time. First time at Wang Shack. Service was good. As we walked in we were greeted and helped with the menu and were given samples to try the sauces. Pricing was good. My husband and I ordered a 24 pc with large fry for about $42. The sauces we selected were Gochujang and Traditional Hot. I preferred the taste of the Gochujang over the traditional. Traditional tasted more of pepper than a traditional buffalo sauce which is what we had expected. The wing sizes were pretty big I'd say comparable to Pluckers size wings. Regular seasoned fries were also good! We had the watermelon lemonade and loved it. Overall food id say was 7/10. I would have liked the wings a bit crispier than what we got. We recently ventured out here to try some wings. They have some unbeatable flavor combos and even offer halal wings / tenders upon request. The service is great, and it's very open with plenty of seats available. The art on the walls and ceiling is pretty cool and they have TVs with sports on. Sadly, am having to update my review. I loved this place when it first opened up but it has consistently become more and more of a burden for the customer. They raised all their prices considerably and started charging extra for their shack fries. Additionally, the long wait times have not gotten better. And even worse, they make you pay for the food when you place the order- so when you're driving down the highway and try to place an order ahead of time so you don't have to wait long, you can't because you have to stop, pull out your credit card, and read out the information to them so you can be charged before you arrive. Lastly, they do offer military discount, but they will only give it to you in person so you cannot get it when you place online or over the phone orders. This place still has the best wings, imho. However, it has gotten considerably more expensive and is plagued by the same issues it had during opening day-namely the wait time. I would love to order ahead of time but they make you pay over the phone and won't honor military discount unless you order in person, so I have to wait to get my food or give up the discount. I ordered this two nights in a row, because I was incredibly impressed with my wings last night- tons of sauce, and all flats like I ordered. Unfortunately, they missed half the mark tonight. The sauce and flavoring are so much better than wing stop, and I'll continue to order here, but I'm very disappointed I didn't get all flats like I ordered, especially since it's so much more expensive on door dash. The cashier came over and said if I have any problems with placing my order she could take me at the counter. I didn't and managed to get my order placed at the kiosk. Got mild lemon pepper wings, fries and tenders. Tenders were dry. Got them for my kid. But they are pre battered and taste just like if you bought them out the freezer section at the grocery store. They got some really good hot wings out there... and I tried for two years to find wings similar to the ones back home... these it right here. These the ones!! I had to try just bc of the spelling change. Made me feel like they season the chicken a little more because of the Wang and not the Wing... definitely recommend.
