Jumbo dog with all toppings
Mika C.

The jumbo hot dog was only $6 so I cannot complain about the price. However, the bun was very soggy and cold. The toppings and the dog itself were okay but nothing special. We also ordered fries, but the server forgot them and was quite curt.

Delicious fries!!!!!!!

I'm hooked on Omnitsky's! I typed "kosher" into DoorDash and this was one of the top responses. And now I know why. It's DELICIOUS! Every time. I die the sandwiches are so tasty and juicy and well-proportioned. I'm slowly working my way through sampling the menu but right now my favourites are the Clubhouse sandwich or Chicken Schnitzel sandwich. For the fries- to each their own but honestly these might be my favourite French fries in Vancouver. Not too thin. They cook them well, good balance of crunchy and salty. Love me some cool Snapple to wash it down with. Appreciate the added touch of the sour pickle slice with every order! Love ordering from here they never disappoint!

Smoked meat sandwich ($17.95 with fries and drink)

* Oy veys meer! * Four elderly Jewish ladies are sitting around the table in Vancouver's only Kosher deli. The 1st one sighs, "Oy..." The 2nd one agrees, sighs, and says, "Oy vey!" The 3rd one nods, sighs even louder, and says, "Oy veys meer!" The 4th one says, "Enough vit dis talking about our kids, let's eat." OK, so that didn't happen. Of course it didn't. Vancouver doesn't really have a classic Jewish immigrant type of spot for Kosher deli. And yes, I say that even after eating here. When Omnitsky opened up a deli in this location I was pretty excited to try it out - with the hope for some real Jewish deli. Entering instead of finding a grumpy guy behind the counter speaking with a heavy eastern European accent, or a disinterested waitress with a heavy Bronx or Lower East Side accent, there were a bunch of high school age looking kids like you'd expect at a suburban fast food outlet with strong Canadian accents. Ah, but the menu had some promising things on it. I ordered the smoked meat sandwich combo ($17.95 with fries and a drink included). When the kid behind the counter asked me if I wanted lettuce, tomato, and mayo on it I cringed, but simply said, "No thank you - just mustard." The food arrived, and it was disappointing. The meat was lukewarm as if they tried to heat it up, but didn't finish the job. It was also really dry. I've always been a fan of thicker hand-sliced smoked meat - but that is a personal preference - this was not that. The bread also didn't have the typical rye crust you'd expect at a deli. The pickle wasn't a full sour. Bah. Fries were uneventful, but sadly probably the best thing on the plate. Photo: http://www.yelp.ca/biz_photos/omnitsky-kosher-vancouver-4?select=7tJJktDmdxwLhzEooTeteQ Alas, I left thinking, "Oy veys meer! Vee still need a gut deli hier."

Nice touch with the takeout club sandwich, served with a good size pickle. Good chunks of chicken, and fresh veggies, great house spread. easy repeat again.

My favorite cafe in North America to date. === Food === I ordered an iced pineapple matcha with oat milk which was mind blowing. My family got a hot matcha and an americano which they both said was great. The matcha was well presented and had perfect ratios - the color was vibrant and you couldn't taste the milk or water at all, it was so so good. I also ordered the caprese toast and it was probably the best caprese I've had, tied with Oven & Shaker in Portland when they had it on the menu. My family got the overnight oats and a croissant and said those were both good, but I think the caprese was the standout. === Service === I went on a holiday so there was a long line out the door but we still managed to snag a seat at the front. Food and drink didn't take that long. Friendly service, although they had pineapple matcha written with dry erase marker on their menu and when I asked for it they said it wasn't on the menu (but luckily they still had it). === Ambiance === Parking might be a little hard but the interior is very beautiful and they have a separate section for those who want to use their laptops and not. They ask that you use your laptop for a maximum of an hour.

This time on my visit, I got the pistachio matcha latte with soy milk (hot), and the ham and cheese croissant. The latte had a really nice matcha flavor, and was the right amount of sweetness for me. I couldn't really taste the pistachio at first, but after having a few more sips, I noticed the slightly nutty flavor. I would definitely get this again. The croissant was nice and flaky, and had a good amount of filling in it. It was seasoned well and I liked how the cheese oozed out a bit too. The customer service here was friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. I accidentally forgot to mention that I wanted to sub the milk for soy, and they were happy to change this as they were making my drink.

The taste of the fillings was very well balanced with nothing being overpowering. I could taste every single ingredient yet they went together very well! I particularly liked the stracciatella cheese. It added a fluffy and soft texture to the sandwich. The shop was small, cozy and well decorated. There were some available seats when I was there at around 1:30pm. There was no line as the peak lunch hour had passed. They made my sandwich immediately so I didn't have to wait at all.

Italiana was so good. Double Prosciutto!! Truffle flavor was strong and paired with stracciatella cheese. What a great combination! And Arugula was very fresh. Foccacia was very crispy outside and soft inside. One of the best sandwich. I will order again. Monte cristo was also good. Grilled bread was very crispy and nicely pressed. Provolone and prosciutto cotto combination was great, too. Sundried totamto provided great accent. I will order this one again, too. Overall, it was a great sandwich shop. Highly recommend.

Noise level is quite minimal with the quiet chatter here and there, making it a good spot to get some work done while people watching. My go-to's for ordering are their matcha drinks for sure. Strong matcha taste and the right amount of sweetness. I've tried the original matcha and the ube matcha before and both were pretty good. If I'm feeling like drinking coffee, I liked their dirty ube latte! I do prefer my coffee on the sweeter side, so something to keep in mind if you're into darker roasts. Also had their hazelnut latte and that was on the bitter side (for my tastes). We also ordered a matcha cookie the last time we were there and it had a strong matcha taste as well. On the sweeter side though since there was also white chocolate/macadamia bits. Would pair well with an espresso. Would definitely come again (as I have already)! Great place for a coffee/snack on Main St while thrifting/shopping.

From the outside looking in, i used to drive by thinking it was a vietnamese movie rental place But to my surprise when i walked in, it was a grocery store / whole in the wall truly authentic vietnamese sandwich food shop. So humbling to get to discover this place. It's super small but the service is splendid and very personal. The menu reminds me of a screen saver, it flashes and changes. Super easy to read, cashier worker was really good at recommending items. But since i'm half vietnamese, i wanted to try it all anyway. But if i were to recommend a specific item it would be definitely try the vietnamese steamed rice rolls. They make it fresh to order. There are various flavours to choose. They pack the toppings and sauce onto the side so nothing gets soggy or spills in the car etc. I tried the honeycomb pandan baked cake for very first time and omg it was so amazing ! Texture is bouncy and flavour packed. This place takes cash and debit only! You can call in and pre order or if you're good with reading vietnamese .. you can even pre order on their website. There is street parking or parking at the back. They open everyday !!! Ambiance is comforting and not even loud .. considering the area it's located.

It's a very non descript place in that it's not obvious from the outside what type of business it is other than the signage. Once inside you can see it's crammed with various Vietnamese deli foods and grocery items. I'm reviewing now because I recently bought some to share with some friends who never had banh cuon before, and they all loved it. The fact that it costs $13 and is probably good for at least two meal, it's great value. Great place to pick up good, affordable food. Cash only.
