Jumbo dog with all toppings
Mika C.

The jumbo hot dog was only $6 so I cannot complain about the price. However, the bun was very soggy and cold. The toppings and the dog itself were okay but nothing special. We also ordered fries, but the server forgot them and was quite curt.

Delicious fries!!!!!!!

I'm hooked on Omnitsky's! I typed "kosher" into DoorDash and this was one of the top responses. And now I know why. It's DELICIOUS! Every time. I die the sandwiches are so tasty and juicy and well-proportioned. I'm slowly working my way through sampling the menu but right now my favourites are the Clubhouse sandwich or Chicken Schnitzel sandwich. For the fries- to each their own but honestly these might be my favourite French fries in Vancouver. Not too thin. They cook them well, good balance of crunchy and salty. Love me some cool Snapple to wash it down with. Appreciate the added touch of the sour pickle slice with every order! Love ordering from here they never disappoint!

Smoked meat sandwich ($17.95 with fries and drink)

* Oy veys meer! * Four elderly Jewish ladies are sitting around the table in Vancouver's only Kosher deli. The 1st one sighs, "Oy..." The 2nd one agrees, sighs, and says, "Oy vey!" The 3rd one nods, sighs even louder, and says, "Oy veys meer!" The 4th one says, "Enough vit dis talking about our kids, let's eat." OK, so that didn't happen. Of course it didn't. Vancouver doesn't really have a classic Jewish immigrant type of spot for Kosher deli. And yes, I say that even after eating here. When Omnitsky opened up a deli in this location I was pretty excited to try it out - with the hope for some real Jewish deli. Entering instead of finding a grumpy guy behind the counter speaking with a heavy eastern European accent, or a disinterested waitress with a heavy Bronx or Lower East Side accent, there were a bunch of high school age looking kids like you'd expect at a suburban fast food outlet with strong Canadian accents. Ah, but the menu had some promising things on it. I ordered the smoked meat sandwich combo ($17.95 with fries and a drink included). When the kid behind the counter asked me if I wanted lettuce, tomato, and mayo on it I cringed, but simply said, "No thank you - just mustard." The food arrived, and it was disappointing. The meat was lukewarm as if they tried to heat it up, but didn't finish the job. It was also really dry. I've always been a fan of thicker hand-sliced smoked meat - but that is a personal preference - this was not that. The bread also didn't have the typical rye crust you'd expect at a deli. The pickle wasn't a full sour. Bah. Fries were uneventful, but sadly probably the best thing on the plate. Nice touch with the takeout club sandwich, served with a good size pickle. Good chunks of chicken, and fresh veggies, great house spread. easy repeat again.

Excellent sandwiches and service. Pastrami and chopped liver especially good and unmatched in Vancouver, IMO.

We had such a great meal at the Maple Grill. Here were some of the highlights:…read more -The food! It wasn't good kosher food, it was good food. My husband and I gorged ourselves a bit because it was so, so wonderful! I got the coconut, carrot, ginger soup which was excellent and a touch spicy. I also got their vegan lentils with a creamed guacamole sauce (parve) and tomatoes and other roasted vegetables. It was out of this world, and I would happily go back just for that dish. My husband and I split a grilled maple sesame salmon salad and the sweet potato fries, which were amazing. He got had a wonderful dessert. -Allergy/Food Issue Awareness: I'm gluten free and have some other food allergies. It was so refreshing to walk into a restaurant and see food labeled as vegan, gluten free, ect. It meant that I could look at the menu and decide what I wanted once we were seated and not have to come up with a list of questions to interrogate the server with. It also showed me that they were on top of the allergy/cross contamination stuff, and I didn't have to explain my allergy. -The menu changes seasonally, reflecting which produce is at its peak. I realize that this is a hard thing for many restaurants to do, so congrats to the maple grill! -The servers and host were excellent and very friendly. We typically find that servers in kosher restaurants forget about customers once they've been served, but this is not the case at all. -It was wonderful to find such a great restaurant in Vancouver. Not at all what we expected, but definitely much appreciated! Here were some of the things that they could improve on: -Service was very slow the night that we ate there. (In all fairness, I believe that one of their staffers was out sick, but my husband was able to take a nap between ordering and when the food arrived). -The Grill is being redone and looks great! However, their bathrooms were also being renovated. Initially, when I popped my head into one, I thought it was out of order. I think that a sign on the door saying, "Please excuse our appearance while we're under renovation," would have been a good idea. Nice Touches -They have a beautiful washing station outside of the restrooms. Thank you for a great meal!

They use kosher meat, so they are a little bit more expensive. However, the food is absolutely…read moredelicious. I never had dinner in the restaurant, so can't comment on the ambiance. But the delivery service was always fast and in perfect order. I highly recommend this place! I love their burgers and Israeli salad, but honestly, everything I tried was delicious.
