Okay so first things first, The teenage girl serving me was zoning out, Her movement was sloppy, she PLOPPED my slice of cake I ordered. and as I was leaving, She started talking to her coworker and looking at me and started laughing! I did not like that service, Probably nobody else would like that type of service and behavior and it just killed my mood and vibe. The customer service here is bad. I left my purse here today and did not realize until I was almost home in Brooklyn, about an hour away. I called the restaurant and asked if they could check the table I was at, considering my ID, credit cards, medical insurance cards, etc. were all in my wallet inside the purse. They said they would "check" but clearly did not, considering their "check" lasted about 5 seconds after I asked. Also the table was outside, not directly next to the phone. I left my number in case they found it, but my gut told me to go back on my own. Long story short, after spending several hours of my life over this whole ordeal going to and from Brooklyn, I arrive at the restaurant to see my purse sitting exactly where I told the restaurant it was! First time in Omonia cafe and it is beautiful! Love the decor! We came in for coffee but actually they have a very detailed food menu, wine. They have a nice looking bar with a bartender. The pastries all looked good but we ordered Tiramisu. And it is my opinion that it just might be the best in Brooklyn. The regular American coffee was not strong enough for me. It tasted watered down and was kind of too transparent. I really wanted to give them 5 stars because it is a great restaurant but that was the weakest coffee we were served this year. read more

I have always ordered desserts from this restaurant, and they are absolutely delicious. Unfortunately, Lady Christina with the red lips, who works behind the counter, is one of the rudest people I've ever encountered in Bay Ridge. My friends and I have always loved this bakery, but after repeatedly being treated so poorly, this was the last time I'll ever go there. I have always strolled down the avenue and was attracted to this beautiful cafe. I love the sparkly chandelier cascading from the high ceilings and the warm ambience that is so inviting. It is a chain Greek cafe and bakery that offers pastries, desserts and treats galore. I love that this bakery has table service. It is perfect for coffee, brunch and lunch. I finally went in during the day for a quick coffee. I got the "cappuccino freeze," which was a frozen cappuccino coffee with froth and whipped cream. It was so perfect and sweet, but still very light and airy. I also had a little bit of the "Bailey's Cafe" and it was fantastic. From the bar, you can get martinis, margaritas, frozen drinks, wines (red, white and rose), beers, specialty cocktails and mixologist favorites. I have been coming to Omonia since I was a teenager. I always loved coming here because my parents would take us here for a special occasion or if a relative from out of a town was visiting...my parents liked to impress them with the outdoor setting...this is back before outdoor dining was trendy. So I always got excited when we would come here and always ordered something different each time because there were so many options in the menu, especially for dessert. My go-to dish eventually became the Penne La Vodka and Nutella cheesecake for dessert. It was also here that I had Baileys coffee and it is the only place I like to order this type of coffee because no order place makes it the way I like it. Another food on the menu that I love are the burgers and fries. They make this the way I like as well, which is well-done and not burnt-down. The fries are served hot and crispy. Omonia stands the test of time because their food still tastes delicious and the ambiance is still welcoming. The service here continues to be top-notch and I always go home satisfied and happy. Love this place! Their food is so delicious! They have everything you could think of and the desserts.... Incredible! They make the most delicious cheesecakes of every flavor but their specialty is their Baklava Cheesecake. I could explain it but seeing it is on a totally different level! Even though in the beginning it took them a bit to give us the menus and then at the end we had to get up to ask them for the check. It was incredibly rude that one of their servers, who wasn't even serving us, implied we didn't give a tip before even checking the table. I believe his exact words were, "Excuse me, not to be rude but did you not like our service." There was indeed a tip, he just didn't bother to look before making accusations and embarrassing us in front of the other customers. There was no need to confront people like that and make them feel unwelcome and unwanted. Felt like we were being profiled from the beginning. That young man needs to learn how to treat people better. The tip wasn't even for him. We left it for the our actual server. The food wasn't bad. Big servings. The food and dessert are delicious, but the service sucks. We waited 20 minutes before anyone asked for our order and I went looking for someone to come. Two of the six people I was with received their dessert and by the time they were done the rest of us received our desserts along with the appetizers. I expected to receive the appetizers first and when we were done they were supposed to bring everyone's desserts at the same time. Sometimes looking for a dessert spot late night can be a challenge but luckily enough Omonia Cafe is open late! I came here after dinner and I'll admit the Baklava Cheesecake is what drew me to this place. Upon walking in, the cafe is spacious (they did a good job with the interior design) and there is a huge display of all their pastries (in case you wanted to see what you wanted to get before ordering). They also have food and a bar so it's definitely a place you can have dinner as well. I came here on a Friday night and it was pretty busy but we had no issues getting a table. In addition to the Baklava cheesecake, we also had the Ekmek Kataifi, coffees and teas. Everything was good, the only thing is that the coffee could of been hotter (I don't really like my coffee warm, I like it super hot). This cafe is decent for desserts. Came here with my family on a Saturday night and we were seated right away. We ordered vanilla earl gray tea to share and there were so many cups from just one little pot! (Only $6 so its super worth it and tasty if you are an earl gray fan). The slice of tiramisu cake was amazing! Super creamy and you can taste the rum in it. However, the slice of strawberry shortcake wasn't that good as it didn't have fresh strawberries in it (just strawberry filling). Seemed kind of weird and I didn't end up finishing it.
