This is the type of bar downtown Charleston needed! Fantastic live music everyday, fun decor, and a lively environment of dancing and singing. I tried the Neon Rider which was surprisingly not overly sweet and rather refreshing. The bartenders aren't the most attentive but I didn't wait overly long for a drink. The upstairs/rooftop is a completely different vibe so even if you're not into country, it's worth a stop.

The boys and I went out for a beer. But in this place it's guaranteed to turn into 10 beers and 8 shots REAL FAST because of the vibe. Definitely be back! Super fast service.

My first time visiting and I found it to be very enjoyable. I went earlier, roughly 7:30pm and at that time there was no lines or cover charge which was great. They did not have any nonalcoholic beer or mocktail options, just redbull or soda. The bottom floor had a live performer and definitely gave me Nashville bar vibes. When you head upstairs, there is a small bar area and an outdoor bar area with seating. A dj was performer outside for a while. Once 9pm hit, back inside a smaller room with a dj opened. I like the vibe in there, very different from the downstairs live music. There was only one restroom available upstairs. The staff were good about crowd control and limiting the number of guests they allow in the upstairs area. For sure recommend checking this spot out but at an earlier time so you miss the crazy long lines and cover charge.

The Charleston Music Hall itself is a beautiful, historic venue--intimate, well-maintained, and known for hosting concerts, comedy shows, and special events. The seating is comfortable, sightlines are good, and acoustics are solid, which definitely worked in favor of the vocal performances. The singers were clearly talented and did a great job vocally--everyone sounded wonderful, and there's no denying the performers can sing. However, we personally felt that the show didn't quite feel like a full "production." It leaned heavily on straightforward singing, with limited storytelling, choreography, or theatrical elements to tie everything together. This may come down to expectations and personal preference. Growing up around Broadway shows in NYC, we're used to more dynamic, story-driven performances with larger production value, and this didn't quite meet that standard for us. While others may enjoy it for the music and holiday spirit--especially in a cozy venue like the Charleston Music Hall--we would probably not attend again, particularly considering the ticket price.

I was on a sister trip with my older sister and on one of my morning runs in the beautiful city of Charleston I ran passed Groovers. So Thursday night my sister and I decided to stroll in there after dinner. The DJ was really good he was playing house music that night. We also met Briggs who was working the bar. He was so nice and funny and made some really good espresso martinis for my sister and I. The ambiance was so nice inside. I loved seeing the different vinyls on the wall that made up the decor. There is also a lot of seating within the venue and who doesn't love a nice clean bathroom! It was giving are you the cousin to Buc-ee's? The music was so fun, throwback after throwback (early 2000s) and the drinks were cheap! I felt like the crowd was younger (I'm late 20s) so they weren't dancing much but me and my friends were (we knew the songs... it looked like the gen z patrons didn't). There was plenty of room on the dance floor and we even were able to sit down at a booth with a table. So we were able to put our drinks down and get on the dance floor! This place is cute for a date or a night out with friends. Such a fun vibe. I hope more people find out about this place and come check it out! Casual attire is fine. Check out their Instagram, they announce who will be DJing each night so you can know what the vibe is. I saw they have like live bands sometimes too so it seems like a cool spot for all different kinds of music!
